Mr. Tycoon's Beloved Wife: The Madam No One Dares to Offend
Chapter 95: Rudi Takes Action
CHAPTER 95: RUDI TAKES ACTION
Hilla lay on the bed, looking at Halle’s swollen belly on the phone screen. She laughed out happily.
"Sis, is he very naughty now? Will he hit you with his little hand?"
In fact, it was not obvious to see that Halle was pregnant. But, Hilla felt that Halle’s small belly was getting bigger, and the little baby inside was growing up day by day.
Halle chuckled. Seeing that she curled up in the quilt, she frowned, "Why are you lying on the bed with wet hair? You will get cold."
Hilla scratched her wet hair and said, "No one will help me dry my hair when you are not here."
"You are not a child. You are already in your twenties and you still want me to dry your hair every day. Do you think I am your servant?"
"You are not a servant. You are the only relative I have in this world. Sis, I miss you now."
Hilla leaned against the bed, thinking of Halle in the countryside, her eyes instantly turning wet.
She said in a low voice, "I saw the Anderson Group’s plan for the new airport today. Our home is within the plan, but they mark it as a business district."
"In fact, I know that our house is not new now, even though Dad had renovated it many times in the past. Everything around there is old. The road is not wide and is not easy to walk on, but I just miss home and miss there.
"Sis, when I was dreaming last night, I dreamed about our family. We were all eating grapes under that old grape tree. Those grapes were big and sweet, and they would bear fruit every year. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a chance to try it last year.
"Can we pick grapes together this year? Without our watering, is the tree still alive?"
Halle leaned against the pit, and the hot pit underneath warmed her whole body, and the warm quilt made her very comfortable.
Outside the door, two hairy dogs were running around in the courtyard like wild animals as if they would never get tired.
Hilla had slowly closed her eyes, but her mouth still kept muttering. Halle could no longer hear her words clearly, but only saw her put on a slight smile on her face.
Looking at the sleeping Hilla on the screen, she was like a child. She had just taken a shower and her face was white and cute.
Every day, Hilla would insist on having face time with her.
Halle never dissuaded her. She knew Hilla was worried about her. She was afraid that she would be lonely, and afraid that she would be in danger in the countryside alone.
Halle knew very clearly that her sister cared much about her.
A large hand quickly appeared on the screen. Then, her phone was taken away, and Bruce’s handsome face appeared on the screen. Halle smiled without any surprise.
"She had fallen asleep!"
Bruce had just come out of the bathroom. He was wearing a gray robe. His hair had already dried up, with strands of hair scattering down.
At night, he looked less aggressive and gentler.
His eyes were cold and he was not gentle at all. The curve of his tight lower forehead even made him look a little unapproachable.
Only when he lowered his head and saw the girl on the bed would his gaze soften, as if he had changed into a different person.
He pursed his lips and replied, "Yes, she was tired from working during the day."
In fact, he had accompanied her to read the novels for a whole day, and she was tired of reading them.
Halle was worried and said, "Please take good care of her, Mr. Anderson."
"This is my responsibility and obligation, and it is also what my heart desires."
Halle’s smile deepened as she said, "She doesn’t like to dry her hair after a shower. If she sleeps like this, tomorrow she will have a headache."
"I know!"
Bruce replied. Halle knew that he was going to hang up. She pursed her lips and
said, "Mr. Anderson...
"The Holt’s mansion... must it be demolished?"
This was a hope that the two sisters had always had after the Holt family broke off. It could also be considered an obsession that they had been keeping. They had never expected that they would lose the last memory of their old days.
Without waiting for Bruce’s reply, Halle could not help but ask. "Hilla and I both hope you can keep the old house." "I know!"
Bruce’s answer was simple and powerful, without showing any emotions. It was as if all his gentleness had been given to one person, and no one else was worthy of his gentleness.
Halle forced a smile. She knew that she made use of Hilla to ask him for help. Her behavior somehow made her a bit despicable.
Others didn’t care about the house, but they did!
Before the Holt family went bankrupt, a hundred-year-old house was left.
That was the inheritance left behind by the Holt family’s first generation when they established their wealth.
Although after so many years and several generations, its appearance had changed greatly and it had been expanded a lot, but this was a place where she and Hilla grew up since childhood. Those memories were too precious for them.
Glancing at Bruce, Halle restrained her emotions and pursed her lips, "Sorry to disturb you. Please remember to wake Hilla up and dry her hair before sleeping."
She had already said what she wanted to say, and there was no need to let them continue chatting awkwardly.
Bruce nodded. He looked at the screen and placed the phone on the table.
He turned around and walked to the cabinet, taking a hairdryer.
The whistling sound of the wind rang in Hilla’s ears, and the warm wind soon poured into her cold neck. Hilla rubbed the quilt in front of her and muttered in a low voice, "Bruce, is that you?"
"Yes."
The roaring sound of the hairdryer did not cover up his response.
Hilla did not open her eyes. Instead, she rubbed against him in satisfaction and wrapped herself up even tighter. The corners of her mouth unconsciously curled up into a smile. She felt that big hand was rubbing her hair gently.
Even the wind was as gentle as the warm wind under the grape trellis.
It was gentle, soft, comfortable, and loving.
He dried her hair very carefully, and it made her feel more real.
This feeling was too beautiful that she did not want to open her eyes. She only hoped that these things would be like a dream that could be imprinted in her brain for a long time.
"Bruce, you’re the best."
The hand holding the hairdryer stopped for a moment, and Bruce looked at her more affectionately.
After a while, he said, "Are you sleepy? Go to bed now. Remember to dry your hair before going to sleep."
Hilla nodded. She was lying obediently in the quilt. Her breathing was smooth as if she had fallen asleep. Only a voice in her heart sounded.
She didn’t want to dry her hair by herself. She wanted him to help her dry her hair as always, just as gentle as he was now!
...
The working day for the Anderson Group was the sixth day after Christmas. Hilla, as an assistant, officially started working on this day.
This time, she didn’t go to Bruce’s office. Instead, she went to the Design Department to report for work. On the day when staying in Bruce’s office, Hilla found that one of the designs for the new airport was from the Fourth Design Department.
These people were the ones who designed the house of the Holt family into the business district.
As soon as Hilla entered the company, she felt that the atmosphere was different from before. It was not like yesterday when she and Bruce came.
Yesterday was not a working day. In fact, besides a CEO like Bruce who needed to come to the company, there were only a few higher-ups and some of Bruce’s assistants in the company.
Most people only came to work on the sixth day after Christmas.
There weren’t many people in the company yesterday, so she dared to act so boldly with Bruce.
Now, it seemed like... she was too optimistic.
Could it be that everyone in the company knew that she and Bruce had gone to the tea cafe yesterday? No way! She had brought them a cake when she came back to bribe them.
It could only be blamed on Bruce’s assistants. Bruce’s assistants were so unprofessional. They even dared to gossip about their boss. Would everyone in the company know about their relationship?
Hilla kept thinking that if she couldn’t hide herself anymore, should she tell them that actually she was Mrs. Anderson?
Would they be shocked after hearing this news?
"Are you alright?"
While Hilla was still thinking about whether she should confess her identity to her colleagues, Rigel had come over with concern and pulled her aside, saying, "You shouldn’t have come today."
Hilla asked in a daze, "Why?"
"I heard that you kicked down Rudi’s flower rack and even killed a rare orchid."
Rigel frowned and said, "Mr. Anderson gave a fine to Rudi and even asked someone to throw out all the flowers that Rudi raised in the company. Mr. Anderson and Rudi have always been at odds. I’m afraid that you will get involved in their fight."
After saying that, he felt that Hilla would end up worse than he had thought. He continued, "If you can’t bear this company, you can resign. I will introduce you to
work in another company. It is not as good as the Anderson Group, but..."
It turned out that these people were worried that she would be blamed for kicking over the flower rack. Not to mention that Rudi would not blame her, even if Rudi was angry, he would not dare to do anything to her for now.
Seeing that Rigel was concerned about her, Hilla couldn’t help but laugh, "Thank you for your concern, Rigel. I like to work in the Anderson Group, and it is a good company. Rudi should not be such a mean person. He won’t make things difficult for me. I am just an assistant."
Behind her, Rudi, who was about to rush over angrily to question her, stopped and stood where he was, frowning.
Was he going to make things difficult for this ’little assistant’, or should he pretend to be magnanimous and walk over?
Hearing what Hilla said, Rigel was still not at ease, but he could not say that the Rudi he knew was actually a very despicable and petty person.
He was afraid that Rudi really would torture her, and would not feel sorry for this. Rigel bit his lips and said, "You should go to resign. Follow me."
Resignation was a good result for Hilla. He was afraid that Rudi would do something bad to Hilla when he met her.
Everyone in the company knew that Rudi was a playboy. He would take whatever girl he met.
"Rudi!"
Hilla turned her head and saw Rudi standing not far away. She narrowed her eyes and revealed a harmless and cute smile. Even the mole under her eyes seemed very attractive because of her sweet voice.
Rudi’s heart was suddenly caught by her. Hilla’s face was exactly the kind of face that he liked.
She looked simple and cute on the surface, but her eyes revealed a sense of coldness to people. When she smiled, she even looked sexy on the other hand.
He had seen a lot of women, but Hilla had always been the woman he couldn’t get, yet she kept seducing him.
The word ’Rudi’ actually extinguished the anger in Rudi’s heart. He originally wanted to find this woman to settle the score, but suddenly, he didn’t want to do it anymore.
It was just some flowers. He always felt that women were like flowers. He watered those flowers and they became so beautiful, just as if he cared about women.
Hilla was different. She was not his "flower", but she was the one that he wanted to pick the most and was the most difficult to get.
"Hilla, I heard that the flower rack tripped you yesterday. Are you okay?"
Rudi said in a serious way. He was so serious that it almost made people think that he was the judge in the court. This opening statement simply made those who were hiding in the dark and preparing to watch a good show flabbergasted.
Rudi’s focus seemed to be different from what people usually cared for!
Hilla looked down at her feet and said in a low voice, "It hurts little. Thank you for your concern."
Hilla looked like a frightening rabbit, who met a ferocious vulture, looking so innocent and pure.
"It’s the people from the flower and plant companies who randomly put the flower rack. They don’t know that it has caused us a safety hazard. No wonder you were injured. Is it serious? Should I take you to the hospital to take a look?"
Well, it was a good thing for him to take Hilla to his car. He knew her for so long, but he had never touched a finger of Hilla. Now that he thought about it, he had never met a woman that was so difficult to deal with.
Looking at Hilla, his facial expression changed instantly. Hilla was now an assistant of the Anderson Group. At home, he couldn’t do anything to her; but in the company, he was her superior. It was impossible for him to let this woman restrain him.
"No, thank you. I’ve already applied the medicine and I visited a doctor yesterday. He said that it was nothing serious. He just asked me to rest for two days."
"Well, if that’s the case, I’m relieved. However, it will definitely be inconvenient for you to commute. How about this? I’ll get the driver to pick you up for the next two days. It can be considered as my apology. After all, the flower rack is mine. I am also in the wrong. It’s best if I can make it up for you."
Rudi finally took action. He had been coveting Hilla, the pure and attractive woman.
Some of the people around them felt pity, some were gloating, and some were jealous and angry.
Rigel, who was at the side, couldn’t help but frown and clenched his fists.
In the president’s office, James looked at the president’s gloomy and handsome face. His body trembled as he looked at the monitor screen. He really wanted to share the burden of Bruce. "Mrs. Anderson definitely won’t accept his offer!"
Bruce replied indifferently, a sense of sharpness flashing through his dark eyes. "Rudi’s legs will be useless soon!"
A chill ran down James’s back. "Mr. Anderson, what do you mean? Are you going to break Rudi’s leg?"
