Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!
Chapter 351: Little Troublemaker
CHAPTER 351: CHAPTER 351: LITTLE TROUBLEMAKER
Hearing Shane’s words, Audrey Sutton nodded obediently, "Mm!"
Shane looked at her, paused, and added, "Remember to tell me if there’s anything on your mind."
Audrey smiled sweetly and nodded a few times again.
She was immersed in sweetness, only feeling that Shane’s change was because she had confessed her long-standing feelings for him, allowing him to fully see her intentions, which led to his reciprocation.
At night, when Shane finished working at the desk and turned to look at Audrey lying on the big bed, she was already asleep.
Judging by her look, she had fallen asleep while playing on her phone; the phone was still in her hand.
Shane walked over, picked up her slumped body from the bed, and adjusted her sleeping position.
He took her phone, plugged it into the charger, and placed it on the bedside table.
Her bag was casually tossed on the bed. As Shane reached to tidy it up, a lipstick and a pair of earrings accidentally fell out.
He picked up the fallen items, opened her bag to put them back, and suddenly saw an envelope inside the bag.
It was almost identical to the one he had seen in her drawer last time.
Shane was stunned, glanced at her still sleeping soundly, sat on the edge of the bed, and opened the envelope, finding a photo of his brother and her elder brother together inside.
What was she investigating?
Who gave her these things?
Not wanting to think too deeply, Shane stuffed the photo back into the envelope, returned it to her bag as if nothing had happened, lifted the covers to lie in bed, embraced her, yet couldn’t fall asleep for a long time...
The next day, everything was as usual.
He worked out in the gym, and she prepared breakfast downstairs.
She was as lively as always, smiling all the time, telling him this was her new invention for breakfast, expectantly waiting for his comment after tasting it. He only said, "Not bad," and she was very satisfied.
On the way to dropping her off at school, she adjusted the hairpin on her head while humming along to the song playing in the car.
In the morning, while he was in a meeting, she sent a few pictures of wedding dresses asking if they looked good. He only replied with: Pay attention in class.
She obediently stopped chatting with him, but he was distracted by those pictures of wedding dresses, thinking that she would definitely look beautiful in them.
About twenty minutes later, she sent another message: Class is over, do you have time this afternoon?
Still in the meeting, Shane immediately replied: What’s up?
Audrey: I don’t have classes in the afternoon and want to try on wedding dresses at the store.
Shane: I have something to do this afternoon, I’ll go with you tomorrow.
Audrey: Then you focus on your work, I’ll ask Sister Phoebe to accompany me and take photos for you to pick later.
Shane: There’s still more than a month, why the rush? I’ll go with you tomorrow.
Audrey: I want to try several stores, if you’re free tomorrow, I’ll go to another one.
Unable to persuade her, Shane just asked her to be safe when going out.
But with Phoebe accompanying her, he felt a bit more at ease.
At noon, Audrey directly met with Phoebe for a meal outside, and after eating, they went straight to the bridal shop.
Phoebe joked that she was getting remarried, even scaredly saying she would call Shane to confirm what was happening.
Seeing the two floors full of wedding dresses in the shop, Phoebe couldn’t resist trying on a few sets herself.
Though she and Stephen Sutton were not close to marriage yet, if he ever agrees, getting married would be just a matter of picking a good day.
In the afternoon, while Shane was reviewing new products at Starfield, he received a few photos from Phoebe: Quickly help your wife choose.
Shane opened those pictures and looked at them one by one. His focus was not actually on the wedding dresses themselves but mostly on Audrey.
No matter the style, she looked quite good in them.
So Shane honestly replied: They all look good.
Phoebe: Buy them all?
Shane: Sure.
Phoebe rolled her eyes at the screen and replied: Buying so many for your wife to wear for a remarriage?
Knowing it was a joke, yet Shane’s heart quivered a bit when he saw the message.
He didn’t reply, and Audrey only paid for the trial fee without making a decision. Though she indeed liked several sets, Shane said he would go with her to choose again.
When they walked out of the bridal shop, it was still early, not even four o’clock.
Audrey thought of Shane’s nearly depleted perfume and remembered she had said she would buy it, but due to unrest during that time, she hadn’t gone out.
Just now, the perfume shop wasn’t far away, so the two bought a cup of milk tea each from a street-side shop, chatting as they walked into the store.
Upon entering the store, Audrey saw the owner. This time, the owner wasn’t wearing a mask, and she appeared young, possibly only twenty-three or twenty-four.
Wearing a subtly colored dress, she gave off a gentle and lovely vibe.
Audrey approached her, smiling, and said, "Owner, I’d like to make two bottles of perfume with the previous formula."
The owner nodded and walked over to the computer: "What’s your name, Miss?"
"Audrey Sutton."
The computer stored information on each customer’s previous formulas, allowing her to quickly find them.
"Please have a seat, it’ll take a little while."
Audrey nodded and sat down with Phoebe on a sofa by a small round table. Just then, they saw a little girl, about three years old, running into the store with a small backpack, heading straight for the woman, and saying in a cute voice, "Mommy, brother got punished to stand by the teacher again!"
Soon after, a middle-aged woman in her fifties entered, leading a little boy who glared at the girl angrily and ran to the woman saying, "Mom, don’t listen to her nonsense, she’s lying again."
"I’m not lying, brother threw a paper plane at the teacher’s head, all the other kids saw it."
The little boy looked disgruntled at the girl and muttered, "You annoying pest."
The woman patted the little girl’s head, not getting angry with the boy, only gently reminding him to behave at school.
The middle-aged woman took off the kids’ little bags, holding them and said, "Grandma is going home to cook, you two listen to your mom here."
The little girl sweetly smiled and waved goodbye to the woman: "Bye-bye, Grandma."
The woman apologized to Audrey and Phoebe with a smile, as if apologizing for the delay caused by the kids: "You two pour tea for the two sisters over there."
The little girl eagerly volunteered: "I’ll do it!"
The woman seemed at ease leaving the kids, turning to attend to her tasks.
