Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!
Chapter 355: He Found Her
CHAPTER 355: CHAPTER 355: HE FOUND HER
Audrey Sutton’s message had just been sent when Hazel Yates replied: Hey, it’s number three.
Then realized something was wrong: But your third brother didn’t seem to have taken this photo as a kid. Did you use a photo editing app to merge it?
Audrey Sutton: No, I saw it on a friend’s circle. At first, I thought he looked especially like my third brother as a kid. I didn’t expect you to mistake him too, Mom.
Hazel Yates: It’s not your third brother? This really looks too similar.
Norman Sutton suddenly chimed in: An illegitimate child of the third brother.
Hazel Yates didn’t take it seriously: I wish, so I could have a grandson to hold.
"Dingdong——"
Suddenly, Arthur Sutton sent a private chat to Audrey Sutton. Audrey thought her third brother was upset with her for "spreading rumors" in the group, fearing it would prompt their mom to start talking about marriage again, so she thought her third brother was about to scold her.
When she opened it, she saw Arthur Sutton’s message: Where did you get the child’s photo?
Audrey Sutton didn’t know why Arthur Sutton was asking this, but she explained everything truthfully.
What surprised her most was that her perpetually single third brother actually asked her for the WhatsApp of the perfume store owner lady.
Audrey Sutton thought, her third brother shouldn’t be interested in a married woman, much less a mother of two kids, right?
Arthur Sutton added the store owner lady on WhatsApp, but the owner didn’t accept his friend request.
He checked the friend’s circle, but as a non-friend, he could only view ten status updates.
Aside from the latest post about two kids, the rest were all sentences related to perfume and words.
It looked like a particularly artistic friend’s circle.
Arthur Sutton actually wasn’t sure if all this was related to the girl he had been looking for; he also didn’t think things would be this coincidental.
But when he looked at the boy in the photo who resembled him extremely closely, a very fantastical idea suddenly emerged in his mind.
Perhaps it was because he had been searching for too long, he didn’t want to let go of even the slightest possibility.
The store owner had not yet accepted his friend request, and he was getting a little impatient. So he asked Audrey Sutton for the perfume store’s address and immediately grabbed his car keys and rushed over.
Located in a less bustling area, the perfume store street was much quieter compared to a commercial area, with fewer people passing by.
Arthur Sutton surveyed the surroundings outside the store and parked his car in an empty parking spot on the roadside.
With an excited and anxious heart, he walked to the door of the perfume store.
The store had an automatic glass door, which opened to the sides as soon as he approached.
Downstairs, in a space about a hundred square meters, there were lots of perfume bottles.
Upon entering the store, there wasn’t any odd mixture of scents, just a faint fragrance. Soft bluesy jazz played from the speakers around, with three or five customers consulting in the store.
Arthur Sutton quickly scanned the store but didn’t find the person he was looking for.
Although he couldn’t clearly remember what that girl looked like, he believed that if he saw her again, he would recognize her at a glance.
"Sir, are you here to order perfume? Do you have your own exclusive formula, or is it your first time?"
Arthur Sutton glanced at the approaching store staff member and replied, "First time."
"The first floor has prepared perfumes; you can also choose if there’s any you like. If you’re here for a custom blend, I’ll take you to the second floor."
Arthur Sutton glanced at the stairs going up and realized there was another floor; seeing no one he was looking for on the first floor, he nodded, "I’ll go to the second floor for a look."
"I’ll take you up."
Arthur Sutton followed the store staff up to the second floor, silently asking her, "Is your store owner lady here?"
The staff member smiled and replied, "Our owner lady is upstairs. She does all the custom blending herself, and it’s not too busy in the mornings, so you probably won’t have to wait long."
Before even reaching the second floor, Arthur Sutton couldn’t help but crane his neck to peek upstairs.
Upstairs was relatively quieter compared to downstairs.
In the waiting area, five or six people were seated, presumably waiting for their custom perfume.
Arthur Sutton looked around, immediately locking his gaze on the woman in the work area, bent over picking scents from test tubes with a pipette.
The work area was expansive, separately enclosed in a glass room filled with chemical instruments. The glass panel in front of her was filled with a light blue liquid, obscuring half of her face, making it hard for Arthur Sutton to see clearly.
"Sir, please wait here for a moment; I’ll go inform the owner lady."
Arthur Sutton looked in the direction the staff member pointed, nodded, and sat down next to an empty sofa, his gaze fixed on the glass room.
Watching the staff member knock on the glass door, use the intercom outside to inform the woman inside that a new customer had arrived.
He didn’t know how she responded inside, but after seeing the staff member walk away, pouring him a cup of tea and handing it to him with a smile, she said, "Sir, please wait a few minutes. I’ve already informed the owner lady; she’ll be out shortly."
"Okay, thank you."
In those few minutes, Arthur Sutton’s thoughts went through countless transformations.
On one hand, he hoped this was the woman he had been looking for, and on the other, he was worried about what approach and identity he should use to communicate with her if it truly was her.
She must be married by now; after all, her kids were that big.
Would she remember him?
Would she hate him?
In her mind, that night must be a nightmare, right?
Thinking about so much, yet suddenly thought, what if this wasn’t the girl he was looking for...
With thoughts running wild in his mind, the glass door he had been staring at finally opened.
When the woman approached, she wore a mask, dressed in a neat white casual shirt and light-colored jeans, her figure slender, not at all like someone who had two kids.
She walked straight toward Arthur Sutton, smiling as she asked, "Sir, please come with me over here."
Arthur Sutton looked at her black eyes above the mask, feeling a strange force drawing him in.
This feeling made him a little excited; some vague scenes from that night resurfaced in his mind.
He stood up, following the woman to the scent blending area.
She first briefly introduced some of the effects of the scents, her voice soft and pleasant.
But Arthur Sutton at this moment clearly couldn’t focus on what she was saying.
When she looked down for the introduction, his gaze remained on her profile. Though her face was covered by the mask, there was a strong feeling inside telling him that he had found her.
"Sir, what kind of fragrance do you like, stronger or lighter?"
After finishing the question and not receiving a response from Arthur Sutton, the woman curiously glanced at the dazed Arthur Sutton and called out again, "Sir?"
