CHAPTER 416: CHAPTER 416: I REALLY WANT TO HOLD YOU RIGHT NOW

After returning home, Flora opened the door and saw that handsome artist tending to the light bulb that had been broken in the living room for a while.

Flora usually didn’t spend much time in the living room, and since the light in the hallway barely illuminated the living room, she had been ignoring the broken bulb.

Thinking about how the guy had just moved in today and was already fixing the light, she felt quite guilty about it.

"Back already?"

Flora nodded and asked while changing shoes at the door, "Have you had your meal yet?"

Artist: "Just finished sorting out the room. Came out to turn on the light and found it was broken, so I went downstairs to buy a bulb and replace it. I’ll cook some noodles after I take a shower later."

"You haven’t eaten yet at this time? How about I order you some take-out?"

"No need, you don’t have to bother. Go and rest inside."

Flora found this handsome guy quite reliable, seeming like someone capable of managing daily life.

She initially planned to offer help, but since he had already changed it and mentioned going to take a shower, she retreated back to her room.

As soon as Flora picked up her phone, she saw that those three people in the group chat were discussing her and Lucian Quinn’s affair.

They were even talking about spending nights together, which made Flora unable to resist sending a voice message saying, "Let’s break off our friendship, you bunch of shitty friends!"

Barry Barrett: Here comes Flora, finished with things?

Seraphina Vaughn: Not that fast I guess? Probably hasn’t finished showering yet, will battle again after the shower.

Flora: Battle your ass! Stop acting like you haven’t seen a man, how embarrassing would it be if they found out?

Audrey Sutton: Flora, how was it? Do you feel even a tiny bit moved?

Flora: Move your head! Let me show you what I just shot on the roadside when I came back.

Audrey Sutton, lounging on the living room sofa, frowned and sat up when she saw the photo from Flora.

Due to the poor lighting and a street tree blocking the way, she enlarged the photo a bit before confirming the woman in it was Clarissa Morgan.

The man beside her had a mask on, making it impossible to see his face.

Judging by his height, he didn’t appear much taller than Clarissa Morgan, seeming like a man in his thirties to forties.

It’s hard to say what their relationship is, but from the fact that the man had his arm around Clarissa Morgan’s shoulders, there seemed to be some kind of improper relationship between them.

Audrey Sutton exited the image page and was about to ask who the man was when she saw a message from Barry Barrett, full of gossip about the entertainment circle: "This guy looks like Patrick Payne? I’ve always liked him; he’s the masculine type. Didn’t he just win the Best Actor award a while ago? Even showed off with his wife during his speech, but who knew he’d secretly hook up with Clarissa Morgan, disgusting."

Seraphina Vaughn: This circle is all about selling images; privately, they are entirely different. Patrick Payne loves gambling, brought his wife to our family casino several times, I saw that every time he lost, it was his wife who paid.

This Patrick Payne, Audrey Sutton, not being much of a fan circle person, had heard of as a respected senior in the entertainment industry. His reputation had always been good; with looks and talent, he was also known for pampering his wife and had never been involved in negative news. Recently transitioned into directing, a true success story.

Flora: Isn’t this big news?

Audrey Sutton chuckled and forwarded the photo to Quinn.

Quinn looked at it and exclaimed in shock, claiming Audrey Sutton was more useful than the paparazzi under him, digging out scandals about Patrick Payne.

But with this photo, even if the public agreed the man resembled Patrick Payne, he could easily deny such claims in a PR game.

Audrey Sutton advised Quinn to observe them discretely for a few days to see if more compelling information could be gathered.

She felt that catching Clarissa Morgan’s weak spots would give her leverage in future negotiations so that Clarissa wouldn’t dare cause trouble frequently.

Of course, ideally, it would be best to knock her down hard enough that she couldn’t recover, as leaving such individuals around posed a threat like a ticking bomb.

"Ding-dong——"

Shane Warner sent a message asking her: Back yet?

Audrey Sutton couldn’t help but smile looking at his chat window and comfortably nestled into the sofa, lazily typing, "Been back for a while, all showered and fresh."

As soon as her message was sent, a video call window popped up.

Previously, Audrey Sutton would feel a bit tense whenever he initiated a video call, checking her appearance in the mirror, making sure she didn’t look bad before answering.

Now these worries were gone, letting herself remain comfortable, disheveled hair, lounging on the sofa, directly answering the video call.

His image sprang up, showing him reclined in a bathtub, bare-chested.

Through the screen, Audrey Sutton didn’t feel shy; instead, she openly admired his beautifully muscular torso listening to him saying, "This angle is quite nice."

Audrey Sutton puzzledly asked, "Why?"

He remained composed, saying nonchalantly, "That’s the view I see from above."

Understanding his insinuation, Audrey Sutton flushed and quickly sat up from the sofa, frowning at him, "Can’t you stop having such vulgar thoughts?!"

However, he continued his flirtations, still speaking earnestly, "I really want to hold you right now."

Audrey Sutton murmured, blushing, "I don’t see you being fond of holding me that much at home."

Shane Warner: "Next time I go on a business trip, I’ll have to bring you along."

Audrey Sutton: "You have to ask if I agree or not, I’m not just a piece of luggage."

He chuckled saying, "I think you’d be glad to, after all, you love checking up on me."

Audrey Sutton: "I couldn’t care less to check, couldn’t care less to bother you."

Shane Warner: "Some people just love concocting stories in their heads."

Chatting sporadically, neither wanted to end the call.

Close to ten-thirty, Shane Warner urged her to go to bed but didn’t allow her to end the call.

Audrey Sutton turned off the lights, lay down in bed, her phone placed by the pillow, the call duration steadily increasing in seconds, yet neither speaking.

Seemingly through such a method, it felt as if the other person was beside you, offering a slight feeling of comfort and security.

The following morning, the first thing Audrey Sutton did upon waking was to check her phone, intending to see if the call was still ongoing. Picking up the phone, she found it had run out of battery and shut itself off, unsure at what time the call had ended.

Connecting the phone to the charger, Audrey Sutton rose and went to the bathroom to freshen up.

Upon turning on her phone, she saw both Flora and Shane Warner had messaged her.

Shane Warner texted around seven in the morning, saying good morning and reminding her to have a healthy breakfast.

Flora texted just ten minutes ago, asking Audrey Sutton to accompany her to an audition this morning. She mentioned how Lucian Quinn recommended a friend involved in a radio drama to her yesterday, who asked her to try out her voice today.
