Mute Mate: The Alpha's Obsession
Chapter 125: Filled With Warm Until…
CHAPTER 125: FILLED WITH WARM UNTIL...
Zavren entered the room, his expression calm. Ariana’s smile fell slowly which had been curled up, as she wondered what had happened. Even though his face held its usual calmness, the air around him felt different.
Something felt off and she felt it deeply.
"Zavren... are you alright?" she asked softly, her gentle voice ringing through the room. Zavren moved as he nodded calmly at her, his eyes resting on her. The calm air returned. Then he spoke quietly,
"How about we go to our chambers?" Zavren suggested calmly. Ariana nodded just as there was a soft knock on the door. Ariana was already guessing it was Leah.
Zavren had told Raven to send for her.
The door opened and Leah entered, bowing respectfully. She moved calmly towards where the baby laid, carrying the baby who was sleeping carefully and expertly so as not to wake her. Ariana couldn’t help but admire her—she knew if she started to hold the baby, she would soon become an expert like Lady Leah.
Leah walked to the door, and just as she stepped out, Zavren moved calmly behind Ariana and gently pushed the wheelchair. As it rolled forward, Ariana could hardly believe she actually had a child now. Her heart kept warming with surprise and disbelief — she hadn’t thought what had happened by coincidence would end up so good and memorable.
They moved until they reached the door to their chambers. It opened as Leah stepped in. Zavren pushed Ariana’s chair inside. Her eyes widened as she stared at their chambers, which looked nothing like she remembered.
Their bed was still there, but now bigger than usual as if it had been changed. By its side was a smaller version — the baby’s bed, made of smooth pink wood that protected the baby in case she rolled over. The place gave off a different vibe.
Near their wardrobe was another smaller built-in wardrobe, supposedly for the baby. Ariana couldn’t help but smile, her face lifting up with happiness. Leah moved gently as she placed the baby on her bed. The baby stirred softly, her small lips pouting before settling back to normal. Leah’s smile widened at the cuteness of it all.
She bowed to the queen and king, then turned and left, closing the door gently behind her.
"This is beautiful," Ariana whispered. Zavren’s lips curled up as he moved to her side. He lowered himself gently and stared at her. Ariana looked around once more, then wrapped her arms gently around Zavren, hugging him tight. His lips curved upwards — he was finally glad his wife liked it. He had been nervous whether she would or not.
A small smile graced his lips as she pulled away softly. Their eyes locked, and a smile rested on her lips. She moved both hands to rest on his face and spoke,
"I love you so much, honey. Thank you for bringing a smile to my face."
Zavren’s body stiffened; her voice caught him off-guard. As if that wasn’t enough, she pressed her lips to his. His eyes widened as she moved her hands to his neck, and she pulled his hair gently, urging him to kiss back. Little did she know, the tug had sparked something deeper within him. Zavren kissed her back more passionately, his tongue entering deeper. They kissed hard, their lips moving in perfect sync.
Zavren pulled away gently, kissing her softly on the cheeks. His face filled with admiration as he bumped her forehead gently with his. He kissed her for head gently before speaking.
"Sweetheart, I know if I continue like this, you won’t get any rest tonight. I don’t want to stress you — today has been a long day."
Ariana nodded gently at his thoughtfulness. Zavren stood and moved the wheelchair toward the bed. He carried Ariana as he gently laid her down. He pulled away softly, unbuttoned his shirt, and after he was done, climbed onto the bed, holding her close and kissing her head gently.
Ariana’s eyes just stared at him as Zavren’s lips curled up.
"Admire me all you want, sweetheart. Remember, I am all—"
Ariana interrupted him gently.
"I know that, honey... you are all mine," she said sweetly, her face brightening.
Zavren chuckled, not expecting that, then nodded and spoke,
"Good... sleep. Tomorrow morning, I have something to tell you." His face turned serious and just like that it returned to normal like it had never been serious a few seconds ago.
Ariana’s curiosity piqued, just as Zavren had guessed she would. He chuckled, not expecting her to look at him, her face already saying it all.
"How about you tell me now?"
She whispered.
Zavren turned rigid...her whisper sounded so seductive, like a sinful temptation luring him. His eyes avoided hers to resist being even more tempted. He moved forward and kissed her cheeks gently.
"Tomorrow, sweetheart. It’s really important."
Ariana nodded, even though she was deeply curious about what he wanted to tell her and why she had to wait. She decided not to think too deeply about it. She felt his hand on her waist, gently pulling her closer. Ariana couldn’t help but smile as she nestled her face against his bare chest, breathing in his masculine scent even more.
Her hands wrapped on him as he fingers caressed his bare back softly..
"Goodnight, my love," she whispered, her face still resting there.
Zavren’s lips curled up as he finally spoke too,
"Good night, my wife."
Ariana finally closed her eyes and not long after fell asleep.
Hours passed
The sound of a baby crying woke her. She turned toward where the little one lay, noticing Zavren was now awake as well. Ariana turned to him and spoke quietly,
"Zavren, please bring her...maybe she wants milk."
Zavren nodded and moved to raise Ariana, resting her back on the bed so she could sit calmly. He then stood and walked toward the crib where the baby kept crying.
Gently, he picked up the little one in his arms and walked calmly back to Ariana. He noticed the baby was still crying, tears falling down her cheeks, but the crying lessened as he held her.
"Anavren, your mother will give you your milk, okay?" he said softly. The baby suddenly calmed down a bit. Ariana smiled gently, surprised by the little girl’s sudden quietness. But just as Zavren turned back to the baby’s bed, the crying started again. Zavren chuckled in disbelief — this little girl already knew what she wanted. Ariana smiled too, not expecting that.
Zavren calmly returned to Ariana and carefully handed her the baby. Ariana took her gently in her arms and spoke calmly.
"Vreni, don’t mind your father, okay?"
The baby was now quiet, suckling at her mother’s breast like she had no care in the world.
Ariana couldn’t help but giggle — this little one was really making her feel happy.
"You see? She really was hungry," Ariana said as Zavren sat down. Then she noticed something.
"Zav, please get her napkin from her wardrobe."
Ariana prayed silently for her legs to return so she could do things herself.
Zavren’s lips curled up at her words.
’Zav’...did she just call me that? he wondered, a smile spreading across his face as he stood and walked toward the mini wardrobe. He opened it and moved to the napkin section, noticing the different colors.
Calmly, he took the pink one and walked back to the bed. Gently, he cleaned the milk dripping down the baby’s cheeks. He moved the napkin toward her neck just in case she spilled more.
Ariana finally sat the baby up, as the little one was still awake but needed time to digest. She gently rubbed the baby’s back in circles, then rested her back in her arms. The child soon began to fall asleep. Ariana’s lips curled up as she turned to Zavren, whose smirk remained. She looked at him curiously.
He then spoke,
"Do you have any idea that you just called me ’Zav’?"
He asked proudly. Ariana nodded with a smile. What made her smile widen was realizing Zavren was whispering — he didn’t want to wake the child.
Ariana noticed rain had begun to fall. The wind blew through the window as Zavren came into the room. He stood and walked toward the window, closing it gently.
He walked back as the rain grew stronger, thunder rumbling deeply in the air.
Ariana was glad he closed the window. He then asked,
"Should I put her back?"
Just as Ariana opened her mouth to speak, a knock came at the door. Her eyes widened — who would be knocking at this hour? That was not normal.
Zavren calmly walked to the wardrobe as he took his black shirt, he put it on he moved to the door and opened it, then closed it gently behind him. Standing there was Raven. He bowed again, unsure why he had to disturb his majesty, but this was really a problem.
"Your Majesty," he bowed once more as thunder cracked again, then spoke,
"The vampires are on their way."
