CHAPTER 146: THE TRUTH OF THE SENERP

Raven fell silent. He knew the king would not be okay with this, but it was what he had to do—the queen deserved to know. King Zavren was only being protective of her, yes, but still... Ariana was a strong woman, and she could handle it.

Not to mention, these past few days the way the queen had handled matters and worked hard proved that she was strong enough to know.

"Very well, my queen. I suppose you need to know. But please, could you wait for a while? The seer should be returning soon," he spoke, and Ariana shook her head gently. She knew Raven had been in deep thought, and she was finally glad that she could come in.

If it meant waiting for the seer, she surely would, as she could finally enter the room. That was what was important right now—she had no problem with that.

"Very well then, Mister Raven. Once the seer comes, we will go in. And I will be needing an update about the senerp, and what it is," she said.

Raven stilled. He realized that the queen had no idea what the senerp was. It seemed there was a lot she still needed to know—things she had not been told yet. He knew this news might catch her off guard, but that was the best way: both to protect her, according to the king’s order, and to ensure she could protect herself.

"I will make sure to do that, Luna A... Ariana," Raven replied.

The reason why he had stuttered her name was because he did not want to sound disrespectful by calling her just ’Luna,’ and the king did not like him addressing her by name.

Ariana nodded with a smile as she began walking toward the stairs. She wanted to check on her little one...she had missed her so much. A soft smile graced her lips as she climbed, her heart already warming with joy.

She reached the room and opened the door. Ava was holding the baby, walking around with her, as the little one was already awake. It seemed she had noticed her mother was not there.

"Oh, my baby," Ariana spoke with a wide smile as Leah turned and moved forward, handing the baby to her.

"Luna Ariana," Leah greeted with a smile on her lips as she carefully placed the little one in Ariana’s arms. Ariana held her baby close, her smile widening as the child’s bright golden eyes blinked up at her. Ariana almost laughed at her little one’s cuteness—the golden eyes and ink-black hair that always reminded her of Zavren.

"Princess Vreni," Ariana whispered as she walked to the bed and sat down. Adjusting her dress, she prepared to feed her baby with breast milk.

Leah, who now stood at the back, bowed respectfully before speaking calmly.

"Luna Ariana, how was your meeting?" she asked.

Ariana smiled. Over time, she and Leah had become more like friends; they could speak freely with each other now.

"It was great, Lady Leah. Another will be held tomorrow, hopefully," Ariana replied with a small smile. Leah nodded in return, smiling as well.

Once Ariana finished feeding, she waited patiently for the little one to fall asleep. The baby, as always, held tightly onto her mother’s hand while dozing, as though she didn’t want Ariana to leave.

Ariana found it so adorable—her heart filled with love. She adored her child deeply. Still, she would be lying if she said she did not miss her husband. It had been weeks since she last saw Zavren, and though she tried her best to stay calm, she trusted him fully and knew everything would work out. She would wait for him, no matter what.

With a wide smile, Ariana gently laid her baby down on the bed. The little princess was now fast asleep.

"Lady Leah, how is little Jack?" Ariana asked, her curiosity showing.

"Oh, he is doing fine," Leah smiled gently at Ariana’s words. She was glad and would always be grateful to the queen for her kindness and thoughtfulness.

Jacky and Lady Leah’s husband were staying at the Royal Village while Leah remained here. Jacky stayed there because of school, as he needed to learn.

There was a soft knock on the door. Leah walked over, curious who it might be, and opened it. A moment later, she returned and closed the door, turning toward Ariana.

"Luna Ariana... the seer has arrived," she spoke.

Ariana nodded with a smile and walked to the door. Calmly, she turned back to Leah. Just as Leah bowed respectfully and was about to leave, she added:

"Luna Ariana, the royal physician will be arriving tomorrow. You and the baby will need a little check-up, as weeks have passed."

Ariana nodded with a smile, completely understanding her point. She then stepped out of the room, heading down the stairs toward the living room where the seer waited.

The seer sat with her legs crossed, her simple white gown flowing gracefully. Ariana entered with a warm smile on her lips, her posture elegant and composed. The seer sat up immediately, bowing respectfully to her queen.

"Luna Ariana, I was told by Mister Raven that you are curious about the door, and also wished to know why the war began," the seer said.

Ariana nodded at her words.

"Very true," she clarified, and the seer smiled gently.

"Very well, then. I will say it briefly, and later we will check the door. When we return, I shall tell you the full story."

Ariana nodded with a smile as the seer began.

"The Vampire King’s wife is currently in a deep sleep. She is neither dead nor alive—she exists in between worlds. In order to revive her, we need the senerp." She paused with a small smile, then added, "But the problem was, once the vampires found out there was a cure..meaning the senerp—they still had no idea what it was.

Not even they knew. They only knew it was here, among us. Believing the werewolves might know, they sent us a letter—more like a threat demanding we provide the senerp. They promised that once it was given, there would be no war.

"But in truth... it was discovered that your blood, Luna Ariana, is the senerp."

Ariana’s eyes widened, clear shock filling her expression. She had not expected this—not in the very least. She was speechless. All this time, she had been the senerp? Why was her blood so special? She was no one special... or so she believed.

Did this mean Zavren already knew? And if he did, why had he kept it from her? Was she the reason for the war? Her heart squeezed at the thought. What if... what if the war would never have happened if she weren’t the senerp? Or if nothing like the senerp had ever existed?

She fell silent, lost in thought, while the seer continued, understanding Ariana needed time to process the revelation. Still, she knew it was better to tell her now than to keep her in the dark.

"In order to revive her, she must drink your blood. But the danger is this—vampires feed on blood for survival, and the fear is... what if she becomes drawn to it? Vampires do not mistake scents, my queen. It could be risky. She could drain you completely. Not to mention, it has been years since she fell asleep."

Ariana nodded slowly, still trying to grasp it all. Why her? Why was she the senerp?

"The Moon Goddess knew this long ago," the seer explained. "That is why your voice was taken from you when you were little. The goddess feared the vampire seer would discover you. Your voice, if heard, could have revealed who you were. Even without words, the sound of it might have betrayed you."

Ariana’s eyes widened in fresh shock. The seer opened her mouth to continue but stopped. She did not want to overwhelm the queen further. This was already more than enough for one day.

"How about we go to the room now?" the seer suggested gently.

Ariana nodded and rose to her feet, the seer doing the same. As they walked together, the seer silently gave thanks she had not shared the last detail..it could wait.

They reached the room door. The seer stepped forward and opened it, allowing Ariana to walk in first.

At first glance, it looked like a normal room—not what Ariana had expected. But as she moved further inside, her eyes widened. She stared at the figure lying there.

"This is His Highness’s mother, my queen," the seer spoke softly, almost in a whisper. "Her name is Queen Mother Diana."

Ariana nodded even though the shock on her face was visible..

’Zavren’s Mother’

She remembered that Zavren had not really talked about his family and when she had asked. she stared at the woman lying peacefully, her long hair neatly spread over the bed. She wore a white gown, whiter and purer than even the one the seer herself wore.

For reasons she did not know, Ariana called her name—wanting to test it, perhaps.

"Queen Mother Diana."

The words left her lips, and immediately, the woman’s eyes snapped open.
