My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively
Chapter 15: What Exactly Happened Last Night
CHAPTER 15: CHAPTER 15: WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENED LAST NIGHT
After Noah Drexler finished speaking, the tension on her face still hadn’t dissipated. He couldn’t help but frown, adding another sentence unnaturally, "There are some things I need to handle."
"When will you be back?" Upon hearing this, Summer Shawcross couldn’t help but ask again.
"In the evening."
"Will you be back for lunch?" Summer blinked and continued to ask with concern.
Her repeated questions made him pause for two seconds, then he pursed his thin lips and replied.
"I have an important meeting at noon."
"Alright..." Summer couldn’t help but sigh.
In the past, when she found Noah Drexler annoying, even seeing him once a day felt too much!
But now... knowing that most of his time would be spent on work, she couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed.
...
——Knock, knock!
...
The sound of knocking suddenly rang out.
"Boss, it’s me!" Outside the door came the voice of Sean Morgan.
"Wait for me outside." Noah glanced at the woman on the bed, who was only wearing a slip nightgown, then spoke.
"Yes!" Sean responded.
...
A few minutes later, Noah Drexler came out of the room, with Sean waiting at the door.
Seeing Noah come out, Sean couldn’t help but turn his head and look at him twice in confusion.
This was the only time in recent years that the boss had overslept, making him curious about what had happened last night to cause the always punctual boss to lose track of time.
However, Noah didn’t notice Sean’s curiosity and, as usual, turned and went downstairs, getting into the car heading to the company.
"Boss, here’s your medication for today." In the car, Sean handed a small box containing pills from the front passenger seat to Noah in the back seat.
Noah Drexler had a headache problem, especially since he usually didn’t sleep well. He would have a headache every morning, so his private doctor specially prescribed painkillers for him to take every morning.
Noah glanced at the pillbox in Sean’s hand but showed no intention of taking it, saying expressionlessly, "No need."
Hearing this, Sean was momentarily stunned, then put the medication away.
...
After Noah Drexler left, the room was left with only Summer Shawcross.
The events of the previous day had left Summer feeling somewhat exhausted. Just as she was planning to snuggle back into bed for some more sleep, the sound of knocking suddenly rang out.
...
——Knock, knock!
...
"Who..." Summer asked lazily.
"Madam, it’s me, it’s getting late, you should get up now." Outside the door came the voice of a rather stern elder woman.
This voice was all too familiar to Summer because she was the person she disliked the most in the house, second only to Noah Drexler.
Noah Drexler’s housekeeper, it was said that she had taken him in for a while when he faced hardships as a child, so out of gratitude, Noah hired her with a high salary to manage his villa as the housekeeper.
The reason Summer disliked her back then was her nagging and annoying nature, coupled with Summer’s previously poor attitude towards Noah, the housekeeper had always been very harsh with her.
Thinking of those past events, Summer couldn’t help but sigh, then propped herself up and got out of bed, quickly changed clothes, and opened the door.
As soon as the door opened, she saw the neatly dressed Mrs. Wang standing upright at the door. Seeing how quickly Summer had dressed, the expression on her wrinkle-covered face was visibly surprised.
