My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively
Chapter 16: Sir’s Health Can’t Stand the Strain, Please Spare Him
CHAPTER 16: CHAPTER 16: SIR’S HEALTH CAN’T STAND THE STRAIN, PLEASE SPARE HIM
Wang the Butler, around sixty years old, had short gray hair and often wore a serious expression, especially more so when he saw Summer Shawcross.
"Madam, you should wash up..."
"I know, wash up and have breakfast, right? You go ahead and wait for me; I’ll be right down!" Before Wang the Butler could finish his sentence, Summer Shawcross cheerfully replied, flashing him a smile.
Summer Shawcross’s response left Wang the Butler with a look of surprise.
Summer, who was usually hard to talk to, had suddenly become so agreeable.
Though puzzled, Wang the Butler didn’t say more and turned to leave.
...
Soon, after freshening up, Summer Shawcross came down to the dining room.
Breakfast was already prepared.
The butler poured her some juice, and Summer Shawcross reached out to take the glass, took a sip, and suddenly stared at the butler.
"Wang the Butler, do you have time this morning?"
"Whatever Madam wishes to instruct, just say the word." Facing Summer Shawcross’s sudden politeness, Wang the Butler was a bit taken aback.
"Teach me how to make chicken soup!" Hearing her request, Summer Shawcross pursed her lips and directly asked.
"If Madam wants chicken soup, I’ll prepare it immediately," the butler stated formally.
"Who said I wanted it? I want to make chicken soup for Noah Drexler." Summer Shawcross looked at her and explained.
She remembered from a past life that the servants mentioned Noah Drexler seemed to really enjoy the chicken soup the butler made, so she thought about learning to make a bowl for him.
After all, she was now genuinely striving to be a qualified Mrs. Drexler, and naturally, she should know how to take care of her own husband.
Her words left Wang the Butler with a horrified expression.
"Madam, although the Master is young and strong now, the busy matters of the corporation usually keep him exhausted. His body can’t handle the strain, please spare him."
Wang the Butler’s words left Summer Shawcross momentarily confused until she understood the implication two seconds later.
Did she think she was trying to poison Noah Drexler?
"Uh... I only want to make him soup, not poison him..." Summer Shawcross felt awkward, having to muster up the courage to explain.
Yet, after hearing her explanation, the butler looked even more worried.
"Madam, if something truly happens to the Master, your life would be ruined. No matter how much you resent him, resorting to poison is absolutely unthinkable..."
"I swear, I really won’t poison him..." Summer Shawcross felt as if she might explode, regretting profoundly her previous life’s recklessness, always wearing her motives to harm Noah Drexler on her sleeve, leading to Wang the Butler’s current wariness...
She only wanted to make a bowl of soup for Noah Drexler; why was it so difficult?
"Madam..." Wang the Butler still looked wary and wanted to say something, only to be interrupted by Summer Shawcross.
"If you don’t teach me, I’ll expose your dates with that bald-headed old man, playing sunset romance!" Summer Shawcross gritted her teeth and spoke mercilessly.
As her words fell, Wang the Butler’s expression instantly shifted from wary to shocked, looking at Summer Shawcross in disbelief.
"How did you..."
How could she know such things, she only went to the park once with Old Liu.
Watching Wang the Butler’s extremely shocked face, Summer Shawcross couldn’t help but reveal a look of triumph.
