Chapter 38: This Girl Has a Bad Reputation...
CHAPTER 38: CHAPTER 38: THIS GIRL HAS A BAD REPUTATION...
"Yes, it’s Summer Shawcross, no wonder I thought you looked familiar the more I looked at you!" The agent clapped his forehead, only now realizing.
"Your name is Summer Shawcross?" Upon hearing this name, Zeke Sawyer on the hospital bed was startled, his gaze fixed on Summer’s face, as if recalling something.
Summer felt puzzled under his scrutiny, and just as she was about to ask, Zeke chuckled and quickly apologized, "Ah... sorry, I usually focus on writing songs and rarely pay attention to the entertainment industry."
"No problem..." Summer smiled, looking completely unconcerned.
"What do you want me to help you with?"
"I want you to help me release two albums."
"Sure!" Without any hesitation, Zeke agreed readily.
Summer was somewhat surprised, but upon reflecting, given Zeke’s capability, helping her release two albums wasn’t really difficult.
"Also... I hope you can make public the fact that I saved you this time."
Due to a previous scandal and some past issues, her reputation was quite bad, with harsh comments online. So, she needed to take advantage of saving Zeke to improve her reputation in order to participate in the Golden Melody Awards selection once again.
And Zeke Sawyer was the best person for this; apart from his status and popularity in the entertainment industry, there was another reason—despite debuting many years ago, he quietly wrote songs and released albums without flaunting his private life, making him a refreshing presence in the showbiz where grandstanding and publicity stunts were rampant.
"Of course." Zeke didn’t ponder much over this request and nodded.
"I have one more request..." Zeke’s straightforwardness surprised Summer, and after pausing for two seconds, she voiced her last request!
"I hope you’ll accept me as your apprentice!"
"What?" The scream came from Zeke’s agent.
"How could you make such an excessive request? Our Zeke is a superstar who’s received numerous international awards, and you’re just a little girl asking him to take you as his apprentice? Where’s your confidence coming from?" The agent, pointing at Summer incredulously, was furious, not expecting her to have the audacity to ask such a thing!
With the agent’s criticism, Summer realized her request might be a bit excessive, and she was about to explain when Zeke’s voice spoke up again.
"No problem!"
"..." Now it was Summer’s turn to be surprised, not expecting him to readily agree to such a request.
"Zeke!" The agent looked at him worriedly, "This girl has a bad reputation, and if you get dragged down by her..."
"I am just a singer; music is my soul, and popularity means nothing to me." Zeke smiled, looking unconcerned, "Besides... I don’t know how long I’ll live in this world, these empty titles..."
"Zeke, what are you saying!" The agent interrupted Zeke’s words before he could finish.
"Your health will definitely improve!"
After the agent spoke, Zeke didn’t say anything, just smiled.
Upon hearing this, Summer was astonished, not having expected Zeke to have health issues.
As she was astonished, Zeke suddenly spoke.
"Can you tell me why you want me to take you as an apprentice?"
Summer smiled and then said, "Because of one person..."
