My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively
Chapter 61: As Expected, He Has No Sense of Romance at All
CHAPTER 61: CHAPTER 61: AS EXPECTED, HE HAS NO SENSE OF ROMANCE AT ALL
What left her utterly baffled was, with Noah Drexler’s extraordinary alertness and that incredibly sharp mind of his, how could he have not noticed any clues over the years?
Or perhaps, he had actually discovered something, only... Thinking of this, Summer Shawcross’s heart tightened, and she abruptly looked up at the man sitting next to her.
He was sitting expressionlessly at the table, sipping a cup of black tea. Sensing her gaze, he turned his eyes towards her.
"What’s wrong, does it not suit your taste?" he asked with a frown.
Summer snapped back to reality, instinctively shook her head, picked up the chopsticks in front of her, took a piece of braised ribs, and put it into her mouth.
The long-lost familiar taste melted in her mouth, and her heart suddenly warmed. Originally upset due to anger, her mood was instantly soothed.
In her previous life, after her brother’s accident, she never tasted this flavor again.
She always felt that this place was a painful reminder for her.
But now, she felt incredibly fortunate to return here and make up for past regrets; thus, she cherished everything she had now even more.
Her eyes inexplicably reddened, and Summer couldn’t help but sniffle.
Her emotional changes, without any omission, were all captured in Noah Drexler’s eyes.
"Tastes terrible?" There was a hint of dissatisfaction in his voice.
Summer shook her head, instinctively touched the corner of her mouth, then looked up with a smile at Noah Drexler.
"No... It’s delicious. You should eat more too."
As she spoke, she picked up another piece of braised ribs and placed it in Noah Drexler’s bowl.
Noah Drexler stared at her for a couple of seconds before looking away and calmly began to eat.
"By the way, Noah Drexler, do you have free time this afternoon? Let’s go watch a movie," Summer asked while gnawing on the fragrant ribs.
She suddenly recalled that in her previous life, they had been married for six years, but never did the ordinary things couples do together.
They hadn’t even watched a single movie together. She wanted to make up for those regrets and do normal couple activities to develop some feelings.
"No," he answered without thinking, though it was the truth.
He was very busy, so busy that spending dinner time with her came at the cost of skipping several appointments.
"..." His decisiveness left Summer momentarily speechless.
After pursing her lips, she chose not to speak further and instead lowered her head to silently eat.
This man truly had no sense of romance!
...
After a long while, lunch finished, Summer and Noah Drexler walked out of the restaurant.
The driver and Sean Morgan were already waiting at the door. Upon seeing the two exit, they promptly opened the car door.
Summer stood by the roadside, showing no intention of getting in the car.
"You go back to your company; I’ll just take a cab home."
Since he was busy, she didn’t want to waste his time any further.
"Get in the car," Noah Drexler glanced at her but suddenly pursed his lips and said.
She showed a confused expression.
"Weren’t we going to watch a movie?" Seeing her not moving, he slightly frowned and continued.
Hadn’t she just said they were going to watch a movie?
His words left Summer shocked—Was he going to accompany her to watch a movie?
"But don’t you have no time?"
Earlier in the restaurant, when she asked if he had time, he had said no.
