    strong~Valerie’s POV~/strong

    "Shit!"

I rose from bed and scanned everywhere.

My mind was a bit foggy from everything that had happened. I wasn’t sure if it really happened or it was another dream, but everything felt so real.

Just that, if it was real, howe I had no idea when Xade entered my room?

"Valerie?" I heard Kai’s worried voice, snapping me from my daze.

"Coming. I’m dressing up. You can leave first," I called outa nd jumped out of bed, scurrying into the bathroom for a quick shower.

I spent five minutes in there, making sure I did not reek of any more arousal or orgasm.

I was still wet when I woke up, with some dried cum stains on my panties.

My whole brain was wrecked silly just trying to figure out.

i"Well, if you can’t, then perhaps asking him would be easy."/i

i"Wait, what? Astra, are you..." /i

I exhaled and focused on dressing up rather than engaging in that talk. Who walks up to a guy and asks straight up if he came to your room the previous night to eat you out?

I shook my head at the strange thought.

I got ready in another five—one of the beauties of my training with my Uncle Zade. Getting ready in the minimal amount of time possible was a given.

I was already out of my door and heading downstairs when I ran into Xade outside by the door.

I nearly mmed into him when my legs hit pause.

I sighed, looking up only to see that wonderful, yful, deadly smirk on his face.

    "Xade."

    "Hey, little wolf."

He still had that nickname in his head.

I looked away and nced around. I didn’t expect to see any of them outside, honestly. I thought they’d have left already—especially Dristan, who had barely spoken to me since ourst blow-upst night.

But there they were. Well... all of them except him.

Xade leaned casually on the railing like he hadn’t snuck into my roomst night and ruined my brain.

Kai was frowning at his watch, clearly wondering what was taking me so long, and Axel was tossing a piece of candy in the air and catching it with his mouth.

"Finally," Ash muttered as I stepped outside, breathless from running. "We were about to send a search party."

"Sorry," I said, trying to y it cool, even though my knees were already wobbly just standing near Xade.

Kai gave me a look, half concerned, half annoyed, but didn’t press it.

We headed out together, the breeze cool against my skin, but nothing helped the heat swirling through my thoughts.

The sun was too bright, the corridors too loud, and every step I took felt like I was walking underwater.

My head was still foggy from the night before.

By the time we arrived at school, the hallways were buzzing with noise, and I peeled off from the guys with a quick wave, heading to ss.

They, along with the Lycans, were now sharing the same special ss.

I spotted the Professor slipping into the ss, her heels clicking on the ground and a thick file clutched to her chest.

    Shit.

I rushed in right behind her, breath slightly ragged. As I tried to make myself as inconspicuous as possible, she turned slowly with that tight-lipped, unimpressed expression that could silence a whole stadium.

"Miss Valerie," she said dryly, raising a brow without even needing to look at the clock. "You’rete."

"I’m sorry, Professor," I murmured, bowing my head slightly. "It won’t happen again."

"It better not," she said, adjusting her sses and turning toward the board without another word.

I slinked toward my seat, catching I and Emerald exchanging amused nces as I slid into the chair behind them.

I leaned in with a knowing smirk. "Let me guess. Slept in because your night was so wild?"

Emerald nudged me. "Or you were being... upied by one of your too-many mates?"

I gave them both a warning re, but the flush creeping up my neck betrayed me. My phone buzzed under the desk.

strongI: /strongiVal... are you serious right now?/iiYou slept in? With them around?/i

strongEmerald:/strongiOh my Moon. Did you finally do it?/iiVal, don’t y. Who was it?/i

strongEmerald/strong: iDristan? Xade? You’ve been glowing since you walked in./i

I sighed and kept my eyes on the board, typing a quick response.

strongMe:/strongiNo. I didn’t sleep with anyone... but something else happened./i

They both gasped softly, then... typing showed on my screen.

    I was dead meat.

strongI: /strongiSomething ELSE?! What does that even mean?!/i

    strongEmerald:/strongiWait, wait, wait—exin. Now./i

"Emerald?" the Professor’s voice cut across the room like a whip.

Emerald jolted upright in her seat. "Y-Yes, Professor?"

"What are you whispering about back there?"

Quick as a cat, Emerald dropped her notebook, bending down to retrieve it. "Sorry, just dropped my notes."

She reached down, subtly ncing at the boy beside her’s notebook, then straightened up with a grin. "And I believe the answer to your question is... ’dramatic irony.’"

The Professor narrowed her eyes. "Correct, but next time, pay more attention and less time chatting. Last warning."

"Yes, ma’am," Emerald said sweetly before plopping back into her seat.

    She shot me another message.

strongEmerald: /strongiWorth the risk. Now spill the rest!/i

    strongMe:/strongiLater. Not here./i

The moment ss ended, I barely made it out of the ssroom before I and Emerald descended on me near my locker.

Emerald linked arms with me. "Talk. Now."

I blocked my other side. "We’ll scream in this hallway if you don’t."

I groaned. "Okay, okay." I leaned in closer. "I don’t know if it was a dream... or if it really happened."

    They both blinked.

"What do you mean?" I whispered.

"I woke up... um... wet. Very wet. And sore. I thought I had dreamed it, but I hink there were signs of something. Someone."

Emerald gasped. "Girl, what kind of signs?"

"I think... I think Xade came to my room." I nced down, my voice low. "And went down on me."

Both of them stared at me like I’d just turned into a unicorn.

"You need to ask him," I said, grabbing my shoulder.

    "Right now," Emerald added.

"I can’t just—" I started to protest when I noticed movement down the hallway.

Walking in slow, casual strides like the night didn’t haunt my every breath. His smirk—oh, Moon, that smirk—met my gaze.

    Xade.
