My Antique Mirror Is A Portal To Another World
Chapter 163: One Rule
CHAPTER 163: ONE RULE
Having made her decision, Bai Hanyun said, "Got it."
She then took out her phone and called the company where she had previously purchased Hua Yuyu’s capsule house.
The moment the call connected, the salesperson said cheerfully, "Miss Bai! It’s been a while since we last spoke. How is the capsule house? Are you satisfied with the quality?"
Bai Hanyun smiled and replied, "Yes. My friends really like it, and we would like to order three more of the same model. Can you deliver and install them today? It’s urgent."
The salesperson was ecstatic getting this big order and quickly promised, "No problem! You just need to sign the documents and make payment upon delivery."
"I will proceed with the documents and send them to your place immediately, Miss Bai. I guarantee your friends can move into the capsule houses before sunset!"
Bai Hanyun was satisfied with his work ethic and said, "Then I will wait for you."
After ending the call, Bai Hanyun turned to the others and informed them. "The capsule houses will arrive today. You guys can stay here while waiting for the workers to install them."
Then she glanced at the clock on the wall and said, "It’s already past lunchtime. Have you all eaten yet?"
Bao Shengjie and the others had left their city in the morning and only had a light breakfast. Right now, all of them are starving.
Seeing them glance at Hua Yuyu, Bai Hanyun turned to him and said, "Brother Hua, since today is your friends’ first day here, let’s order takeout and celebrate."
Hua Yuyu looked at the others and, seeing the anticipation in their eyes, thought for a second and agreed. "Alright."
With his agreement, Bai Hanyun grinned and opened a food delivery app. While they waited for the order to arrive, the capsule house company called again to confirm her address.
Two hours later, just as they finished their simple welcome party, the capsule houses arrived.
"Woah~! Miss Bai, you really bought three capsule houses?!" Bao Shengjie exclaimed in shock.
Bai Hanyun smiled and explained, "Each capsule house only has two bedrooms. To accommodate everyone, we needed at least four, so I bought three more. Besides, there’s plenty of space for them in my yard."
Then she turned to the salesperson and asked, "Where should I sign the documents?"
The salesperson quickly handed her a pen and replied, "Here, and here."
While Bai Hanyun signed the purchase documents, Bao Shengjie stepped closer to Hua Yuyu and asked quietly, "Brother Hua, don’t you think it’s a bit wasteful for Miss Bai to buy capsule houses just for us? We don’t even know how long we will be working for her. What if they become useless after we leave?"
"You don’t need to worry about that. Just follow orders and keep your mouth shut. You will get used to it after living with Miss Bai for a few days," Hua Yuyu replied calmly.
Seeing that Wang Kaimu and the others remained silent, Bao Shengjie scratched his head and muttered, "Are all ex-soldiers like you guys?"
Pitying him, Gao Gong gently patted his head and said, "Stop asking questions and just listen to Brother Yu."
Though he had many questions, Bao Shengjie knew the first rule of being a bodyguard was to protect the client’s privacy. Nodding at Gao Gong, he said, "Understood."
As the workers installed the capsule houses, time flew by. By the time the final installation was complete, the western sky had already turned orange.
After sending off the salesperson and the workers, Bai Hanyun said, "I’m going to rest. Brother Hua, you don’t need to prepare dinner for me."
Hua Yuyu nodded. "Alright."
Bai Hanyun then waved at the others and returned to her house.
Once the door closed behind her, Xie Wei said, "Brother Hua, this Miss Bai is really strange. She acts normal, but my instincts tell me she is not as simple as she looks."
Hua Yuyu looked at him and said, "Let’s gather at my place. I will share some information about her with you guys."
Seeing his serious expression, the others exchanged curious glances and nodded.
Once gathered in Hua Yuyu’s capsule house’s living area, Hua Yuyu brought out a stack of documents and distributed them to the others.
While his friends read the documents, Hua Yuyu quietly went to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
Before long, Bao Shengjie’s shocked voice echoed from the living area. "Oh my God! Is this real?! How could parents be so biased?!"
All members of the team, including the twins Wang Kaimu and Wang Kaiye, were orphans.
Though they never had parents themselves, they believed that most parents would sacrifice anything for their children. Even if there was favoritism, parents wouldn’t be so cruel as to want to kill their own child.
But after learning about Bai Hanyun’s past, their worldview changed slightly.
Carrying plates of food to the dining table, Hua Yuyu said calmly, "There are all kinds of parents in this world."
Hearing this, they were reminded that Hua Yuyu’s parents had abandoned him as a baby. If not for his grandmother finding him in a trash bin, he would have died long ago, eaten by ants and worms.
Sensing the mood getting heavier, Wu Jun stood up silently, went to the kitchen, and helped Hua Yuyu bring out the rest of the food.
Seeing this, the others joined in. After setting the table, they all sat down together.
Looking at the spread of dishes, Ouyang Zhuangyu smiled and said, "Brother Hua, your cooking has improved again."
Hua Yuyu smiled. "Let’s eat first."
As they ate, Hua Yuyu added, "Miss Bai is a kind and considerate client. There is only one rule you need to follow."
Looking at his brothers, he said seriously, "Never dig into her secret."
Seeing how serious he was, Wang Kaiye asked, "Brother Hua, does her secret have anything to do with the fake deliveries you told us to arrange?"
Hua Yuyu nodded. "Yes."
Wang Kaiye thought for a second and nodded. "Got it."
With that, the others also nodded and responded in unison, "Understood."
While Hua Yuyu and his brothers chatted over dinner, something was happening back in Xiqiang City.
