My Antique Mirror Is A Portal To Another World
Chapter 198: Doubt
CHAPTER 198: DOUBT
Bai Hanyun gave Yu Tianshuo a warm hug and replied, "I will. See you next month, Grandpa Yu."
"Travel safely."
After saying their goodbyes, Bai Hanyun left with Yu Xiangyu, followed by Hua Yuyu and the others.
Watching them board the cars from the window, Yu Tianshuo sighed quietly.
Noticing his mood, Xu Baoyi said, "Old Master, you seem very fond of Miss Bai."
Yu Tianshuo nodded. "Mhm. It’s rare for young people to take the time to keep old men company. Hanyun is a good child. It’s just a pity that she has such a father."
Hearing that, Xu Baoyi paused thoughtfully before asking, "Old Master, are you planning to make Miss Bai your granddaughter-in-law?"
Yu Tianshuo chuckled and shook his head. "I do have that wish, but what can we do if the children don’t feel the same way? Forcing it could ruin their relationship. It’s better to let things happen naturally."
Xu Baoyi smiled. "You are right, Old Master."
While the two elders chatted, Yu Xiangyu had arranged for a helicopter to take Bai Hanyun to the airport.
He got out of the car and led them to the nearby helicopter pad and said, "Miss Bai, to save time, I have arranged for a helicopter to take you and your bodyguards directly to the airport."
Bai Hanyun nodded. "Thank you, CEO Yu."
As the helicopters arrived, Yu Xiangyu extended a hand and said, "Then, I will see you at the auction next month, Miss Bai."
Bai Hanyun shook his hand and replied, "See you next month."
With that, she boarded the helicopter with Hua Yuyu and the others. Once they had taken off, Chi Limin came over and said, "CEO Yu, you have a meeting in thirty minutes."
Yu Xiangyu nodded and continued watching until the helicopters disappeared from view. Only then did he turn and say, "Let’s go back to the office."
"Yes, CEO Yu."
Five hours later, Bai Hanyun and the others finally arrived home.
Getting out of the car, Bai Hanyun said, "It’s already dinner time. Brother Hua, you guys can rest early. I don’t plan to go out anymore today."
Hua Yuyu looked at her tired face and nodded. "Alright. Good night, Miss Bai."
"Good night."
Waving at them, Bai Hanyun went inside her house and closed the door. After changing out of her shoes into her house slippers, she went directly to the backyard.
As she walked toward the tree, Bai Hanyun checked the river’s water level. Seeing that there wasn’t much change, she raised her brows and touched the ground.
When she felt the wetness on the grass, Bai Hanyun knew it had rained while she was away.
Letting out a sigh of relief, she walked up to the riverside and saw that the antique mirror was still absorbing water.
After making sure nothing had happened to it, Bai Hanyun returned to her bedroom to take a shower, then went to sleep.
The next morning, Bai Hanyun woke up early. After washing up, she went to the backyard to check on the antique mirror.
Pulling the antique mirror out of the river, she brought it back to the kitchen and dried the water droplets with a clean cotton towel.
Placing it on the kitchen counter, Bai Hanyun began to cook chicken porridge for breakfast and poured herself a cup of orange juice.
Fifteen minutes later, she carried the antique mirror, a bowl of chicken porridge, and a cup of orange juice to the dining table.
Just as she opened her laptop to search for weapon blueprints, the antique mirror began to glow.
Seeing the dim golden light shrouding the mirror, Bai Hanyun picked it up and asked, "What are you going to do now?"
As she asked, the surface of the antique mirror rippled. Seeing this, Bai Hanyun’s eyes lit up, and she stared into the surface with interest.
A second later, a scene appeared on the mirror’s surface.
Realizing the interior of the building, Bai Hanyun asked, "Isn’t this the temple built by Feng Xiyan?"
The mirror shone once in response.
Getting confirmation from it, Bai Hanyun continued watching the scene reflected on the antique mirror’s surface.
While Bai Hanyun ate her breakfast and watched everything through the golden body’s eyes, a group of men followed the crowd and queued up to burn incense.
After waiting in line for a while, it was finally their turn.
Holding three incense sticks, one of them asked, "Boss, do you think the incense will light up today?"
The leader smacked the back of his head and scolded, "Don’t say something so unlucky!"
Rubbing the sore spot, the man grimaced in pain and quickly said, "Boss, I was wrong."
Just as the leader was about to speak, a woman standing behind them in line said, "Sir, are you going to light the incense or not?"
Turning to look at the woman, the leader noticed the line growing longer and more people staring at them.
Smiling apologetically, he replied, "Yes, yes. Please wait a moment, Madam."
With that, he quickly held the three incense sticks over the candle flame. However, after a full minute, the incense still hadn’t lit.
Seeing this, the woman behind them narrowed her eyes and looked at them with suspicion.
Feeling more and more eyes on him, cold sweat broke out on the leader’s forehead.
Watching all of this through the antique mirror, Bai Hanyun took a sip of her porridge and asked, "Hey, why can’t that man light the incense sticks?"
As she asked, the antique mirror glowed once, and a word appeared on its surface: [Doubt.]
Reading the word, Bai Hanyun raised her brows slightly. "You mean... these men are doubting us?"
The antique mirror glowed again, and another word appeared: [Yes.]
After taking a sip of her orange juice, Bai Hanyun said calmly, "If they are doubting us, why would they still come to our temple to pray?"
This time, the antique mirror didn’t respond.
Bai Hanyun looked back at the surface and noticed it was already showing the group of men again.
