My Antique Mirror Is A Portal To Another World
Chapter 199: What Have We Done?
CHAPTER 199: WHAT HAVE WE DONE?
Based on her past experiences with the antique mirror, Bai Hanyun knew that if it showed her something, it must be important.
After pondering for a moment, she went to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator. Scanning its contents, Bai Hanyun took out an apple. Holding it in her hand, she returned to the dining table.
Sitting down, she asked, "Hey, can you send this apple directly to those men?"
The antique mirror glowed once, and the apple vanished from Bai Hanyun’s hand. A second later, it appeared above the leader’s head.
As soon as it did, the crowd gasped in surprise and knelt to the ground.
"Long live Fairy Bai!" they chanted, kowtowing earnestly to the golden body.
Pointing to the leader’s head, one of his subordinates said with a trembling voice, "B–Boss, your head..."
Seeing the pale faces and shocked expressions of his subordinates, the leader instinctively reached up to feel if his head was still attached to his neck.
After patting around for a moment to make sure that his head was still there, he let out a sigh of relief and glared at them. "What’s wrong with you guys?"
Just as he finished speaking, the apple on his head dropped. Before it could hit the ground, one of the subordinates reached out and caught it.
"Huff... fortunately, it didn’t fall," the man sighed in relief.
Staring at the apple in shock, the leader asked, "What is that? Where did it come from?"
Hearing the question, the subordinates looked at him in disbelief.
A moment later, one of them replied, "Boss... that thing just appeared on top of your head."
Realizing the crowd had knelt because of this strange red thing, the leader quickly dropped to his knees and kowtowed to the golden body. Seeing this, the others followed suit.
"Long live Fairy Bai!" They chanted in unison.
Watching everything unfold through the antique mirror, Bai Hanyun casually said, "Just stop kneeling already. You guys almost cracked your head."
The moment she said this, the antique mirror shone brightly, and her voice echoed inside the temple.
"Just stop kneeling already."
When the crowd and the men heard the voice, they all looked up at the golden body in awe.
After a moment of silence, someone suddenly exclaimed, "It’s Fairy Bai!"
"She told us to stop kneeling!" another man added in surprise.
While the crowd laughed and exclaimed in wonder, the leader’s heart pounded harder with each second.
Clenching his fists, he knelt, knocked his forehead to the ground, and said, "I was blind and failed to recognize Heaven. Please forgive me, Fairy Bai!"
He repeated this three times, then stood up and solemnly lit the incense sticks.
After witnessing such a miracle, he and his men now fully believed that Heaven had truly sent Fairy Bai to bless the people of Xiqiang City and protect the Feng Army.
With newfound reverence, he held the incense over the candle flame. Two seconds later, it lit.
The leader’s heart trembled, and he muttered in shame, "What have we done? We actually dared to oppose Heaven..."
Still holding the incense sticks, he knelt before the golden body and prayed sincerely.
Seeing this, the subordinates exchanged glances, then followed their leader’s example.
After admitting their mistakes, they lit incense sticks, and as expected, they lit normally.
Holding his incense sticks, one of the men swallowed hard and said in a low voice, "There is no way mortals can fight Heaven. From now on, I’m done working for General Ji. I want to become a citizen of Xiqiang City."
The others nodded in agreement. "Brother, let’s go together."
As the men prayed, Bai Hanyun nodded in satisfaction and said, "Look, now they believe in us."
The antique mirror glowed once more, and the scene disappeared.
Seeing that the mirror had nothing more to show her, Bai Hanyun turned on her laptop and began searching for suitable weapon blueprints for Feng Xiyan.
Unaware that her simple gesture had stirred a huge wave within the hearts of Ji Shadow Guards, Bai Hanyun quietly finished her breakfast and focused on the search.
Meanwhile, Feng Wu appeared in the commander’s tent and knelt before Feng Xiyan and the generals.
"Master, the water has stopped."
When Feng Xiyan and the generals heard this, their eyes lit up. After two days, the water finally stopped. Maybe they can contact Fairy Bai today.
Taking the wooden box from Feng Wu, Feng Xiyan asked, "What about the lake and the river?"
Feng Wu replied, "Answering Master. The lake and the west river are full."
"As for the excess water, the soldiers diverted it to the river outside the south gate. For now, the citizens will fetch daily water from the south river and use the west river for bathing and irrigating farmland."
After hearing the report, Feng Xiyan nodded. "Good. You can go get some rest now."
"Thank you, Master," Feng Wu replied, and then disappeared from the tent the next second.
Walking to the altar, Feng Xiyan took out the bronze mirror and its stand from the wooden box. After placing it back on the altar, he and the generals lit incense and bowed three times.
When the prayer ended, Tan Pengtai said, "Great General, now that we have more than enough water for farmland and daily use, isn’t it time to deal with Ji Hui and his army?"
Feng Xiyan walked back to the sand table and looked at the map. After a moment of thought, he asked, "General Fan, have those prisoners confessed?"
Fan Wanming shook his head. "They refused to confess, even to their last breath. However, judging from their accents, this subordinate believes they are from the Yuezhi Tribe."
Turning to Xue Ruhong, Feng Xiyan asked, "General Xue, what about the mixed-blood workers? Any problems?"
Xue Ruhong clasped his fists and replied, "Answering the Great General. So far, the mixed-blood workers are the hardest working ones. They have caused no trouble and completed their tasks ahead of schedule, with better quality than the others."
"Based on your judgment, should we recruit more?" Feng Xiyan asked.
