CHAPTER 956: CHAPTER 783: WHEN THE ABYSS STARES BACK, YOU CLOSE THE GATE (MEGA CHAPTER)
In the half year since Earth’s relocation began, to prevent the new coordinates from being discovered by the Devil Race, the "Abyss Stitching" operation was initiated under the leadership of Green Shadow City.
Now, the threat of Abyssal Rifts to humanity is minimal; the Demonized Beasts emerging from them have largely become material resources and training tools for Awakeners.
Larger Sanctuaries and Base Cities more or less have a couple of Abyssal Rifts under their care, turning them into resource territories.
Green Shadow City’s initiative to close all Abyssal Rifts naturally touched upon many people’s interests.
However, spearheaded by Green Shadow City, the other eight major Holy Land forces had no objections, and many large Sanctuaries and Base Cities dared not oppose them.
Central continent of Asia, Flame Valley Base City.
This Base City is quite renowned in the surrounding regions, and so the city’s leadership received the task to cooperate with the "Abyss Stitching" operation.
Acting as mercenaries, in reality, they were just guides.
Being a hegemon in neighboring regions, its comprehensive strength is second only to Holy Land levels, akin to Overlord-level forces, Flame Valley Base City naturally holds the geographic coordinates for all Abyssal Rifts in the area.
They themselves "foster" three Abyssal Rifts.
"This time we need to host two teams from Green Shadow and Myriad Buddha Valley."
The mayor of the Base City stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, expression unseen.
"Mayor, are we really just going to hand over the Abyssal Rifts like this? Those are resources! Even if they say it’s to prevent Alien Race invasions, weren’t those Aliens defeated by us humans long ago? What threat do they still pose?"
A senior official spoke indignantly.
In their view, the Alien Race was just an excuse; the Abyssal Rifts were real interests.
Even if there were unfostered Abyssal Rifts, they still provided them with many materials, and if all were gone...
"Huh? Do you dare to refuse?"
"I..." The senior official couldn’t say a word, complaining is one thing, but to refuse in front of Green Shadow City, he didn’t have that kind of courage.
The mayor spoke, "This matter is left to you, entertain the experts from Green Shadow City and Myriad Buddha Valley well, and provide the location of the Abyssal Rifts truthfully; however..."
He paused, "Of the three Abyssal Rifts we have in Flame Valley, only two are public."
The appearance of another Abyssal Rift was recent and is located in a remote hilly area. Not many people know about that Abyssal Rift, and stationed there is a direct lineage army of the mayor, completely reliable.
So that’s how it is!
Neither offending Green Shadow nor losing some of its own interests.
The senior official’s eyes lit up, no wonder he’s the mayor and he’s just a subordinate.
"I understand, I will ensure the task is accomplished satisfactorily."
Within a couple of days, the teams from Myriad Buddha Valley and Green Shadow City arrived successively.
Myriad Buddha Valley is not solely composed of monks; to keep up with the times and maintain its Holy Land status, there are equally numerous experts of various types. Only the leader, a Transcendent expert, has a shaved head, wearing a golden kasaya — the kasaya is clearly a Divine Weapon.
The welcoming Flame Valley senior officials were momentarily stunned.
The team from Myriad Buddha Valley consists of eight people, all at the Transcendent Tier, and he spotted four or five Divine Weapons among them.
Rich and powerful, strong individuals abound!
Is this what a Holy Land is like?
Though Flame Valley Base City is the leading force beneath the Holy Lands, it still falls far short when compared.
The high-ranking member of Flame Valley is himself a Transcendent, having gathered two other Transcendent colleagues to maintain face, but otherwise, they are just Awakening Tier Perfection individuals.
There were many people, the scene was grand, but the background was incomparable.
"Master, we’ve already prepared a banquet."
"No need, closing the Abyssal Rifts is urgent, and besides, the people from Green Shadow City have already arrived."
The monk looked up.
The Flame Valley officials followed his gaze, and a Floating Airship pierced through the clouds, revealing rows of menacing cannons.
The wind howled as the Floating Airship landed a few kilometers outside Flame Valley Base City, attracting many survivors to gather and watch.
Although Green Shadow City’s airship passenger service had established a passenger point in Flame Valley Base City three years ago, with one or two airships stopping by every few days, this particular ship was too... imposing.
Like a shark breaching the water’s surface, baring its ferocity, each cannon mounted upon it could easily blast even a Transcendent Tier flying beast to smithereens.
Flame Valley’s officials couldn’t help but envy.
The teams from Green Shadow City and Myriad Buddha Valley had no intention of resting at Flame Valley Base City; the eight individuals from Myriad Buddha Valley, joined by the guide team from Flame Valley Base City, boarded the Floating Airship.
The massive Floating Airship flew low, offering a clear view of the magnificent landscapes below from the deck.
"There, that’s one of our defense zones in Flame Valley Base City," said the senior official of Flame Valley, having chosen one of the "fostered" Abyssal Rifts as the first destination to demonstrate they were hiding nothing.
The defense zone’s troops had already been notified, some with faces of reluctance still cleared the road, as the Transcendent experts from Myriad Buddha Valley and Green Shadow City arrived at the edge of the Rift.
The Demonized Beast outbreak was in full swing, with hordes of Demonized Beasts pouring out of the Abyssal Rift consecutively.
A Master from Myriad Buddha Valley pressed down with a flip of his hand.
Bang!
A thin layer of golden light enveloped the Abyssal Rift, and all Demonized Beasts were reduced to dust.
The Master looked towards the team from Green Shadow.
The Awakeners from Flame Valley were quite curious about how the Abyssal Rift would be closed, and it seemed now the answer lay with Green Shadow’s Transcendents.
Only Green Shadow City had the capability to close the Abyssal Rifts.
The leader of the Green Shadow contingent, named Zhou Shiniu, was a disciple of "Earth Armor" Peng Bo, a Commander of the Green Shadow Expeditionary Army.
He was equally ranked high in Green Shadow City for his mastery of Earth Series Magic, once having crushed a Transcendent Tier flying beast to pulp using a Gravity Spell. Already a somewhat renowned master, Flame Valley’s senior officials had already been informed.
