CHAPTER 135: THE MYSTERY IS SOLVED

Ethan could tell these receptionists were ghosts, and more importantly, they had at least 500 Sun level of power. Besides, these ghosts had a strange energy—something of a higher order of ghost energy than what existed in this world.

"Are they from the upper realm? Is there a ghost realm like the demon realm in the upper realm? Probably."

He thought to himself, but he didn’t disturb their acting. He played along with them.

He went in front of the counter and asked,

"Hello, is there any room available for tonight?"

The receptionist girl smiled brightly. Ethan could tell she just licked her lips.

"Yes sir. We have a perfect room for you. The most magnificent room in our inn,the VIP room. For your looks, we will give you the VIP room for the regular price," the girl said charmingly.

"And you can also order something more, you know... like—" she unbuttoned her chest a little.

The other receptionist gave her a slap on the head. Then she bowed.

"Please sir, here is your key. Your room number is 309. You will find it on the 2nd floor, on the right side."

Ethan was surprised. What a flawless acting by these two little ghosts.

But he smiled and left with the key after thanking them.

The inn was actually real, but it was full of blood and gory scenes, which were curtained by the illusion. All the new people who arrived here for rest would die in the most horrific manner.

Ethan went to the second floor. The illusion still continued—until the room.

The room was actually good,not illusion. It seemed they hadn’t used the VIP room yet for murdering anyone.

So Ethan just went to the bed.

When Ethan was gone, the two receptionists were almost drooling.

"What a strong vitality. The master would be happy to taste his blood and flesh, and we can take his vitality before that."

They were laughing nastily.

Ethan could hear them as clearly as someone talking beside him.

He also smiled. He really wanted to know the secret behind this town.

It was almost evening.

He heard a knock on the door. One of the receptionists came with food.

Ethan opened the door.

When she saw Ethan, she couldn’t help but smile,

"This food is on our inn, sir. Have a nice meal."

Ethan took the meal and said thank you. The meal looked delicious.

But Ethan knew instantly that it had aphrodisiacs in it. Very high amount.

If a normal young man ate this food, he would even assault his mother. He would totally lose his sanity over lust. The receptionist was waiting outside. She was waiting for when Ethan would eat that meal and come out to vent.

Then...

She again licked her lips. But the aphrodisiacs would work 1 hour later after eating the food. That was when her master would again come to this town for his meal.

Ethan just burned the food into dust and waited for the news from Amelia. She had entered the house of that old man.

At first, the old man didn’t want to let her in, but she used force to enter.

Then Amelia talked to that old man for 40 minutes.

Then she sent a message to Ethan mentally.

Ethan teleported her back to the room. As she was possessing the body Ethan made, so Ethan could teleport her wherever he wanted.

"Tell me everything you have learned."

She nodded.

"Master, that old man didn’t want to talk before, but then he said after I used pressure a little.

The town wasn’t like this before. It was a very lively, normal town, bustling with common people.

8 months ago, a strange man came to their town, and everything changed after that.

The man and his two daughters rented a house in the town. The strange thing was that they wouldn’t come out from their house. They never saw them coming out—not even for buying food or necessities.

5 days after that man came, the first woman disappeared from the town.

Everyone was panicked. They called the local authorities. They tried their best but could not find her.

Then started the craziness. Every night one woman would disappear.

This continued for a month.

Then no one would go out after the afternoon. But still, the disappearances didn’t stop.

The families of those disappeared girls said they heard a strange sound, and then they didn’t remember anything. When they opened their eyes, the woman was gone.

All virgin young girls vanished in the first 3 months. Then started disappearing the young wives. This continued for 3 more months. Then started disappearing children.

7 months after this madness, the men of this town guessed that strange family might have something to do with this.

They went to surround the house and broke the door.

What they saw inside made 30% of them lose consciousness.

There was blood everywhere, flesh, bones, organs—even heads.

They recognized some heads. Those were the heads of the missing women and children.

They went mad and started searching the whole house.

Then they found an underground tunnel. When they went inside, they saw one hundred men wearing strange red robes kneeling in front of a monstrous statue,they didn’t know from where this many men came.

And that man and his two daughters, who were also wearing the same robes, were reading something strange.

The men of the town, who lost their daughters, wives, and children, lost their minds and attacked them.

But the result was as expected. They were killed even before they could reach near them.

The remaining of them paled with fear and ran out of the house. It was strange that no one stopped them.

Some tried to leave the town immediately, but they couldn’t. The city gate had some strange barrier which didn’t allow anyone to leave.

Only people could come. The newcomers could leave if they left within 1 hour after entering the town. They didn’t know why."

So that’s how it is. So some ghosts infiltrated here. But when did they start eating people?

We will know in 15 minutes. Let’s wait.

Ethan sent Amelia out of the town.

He then closed his eyes and started thinking.

"There were too many strange things happening here. He didn’t feel any barrier on that gate. He didn’t sense the aura of those 2 receptionist ghosts when he first scanned the town.

Something was blocking his sense, and that thing might be very powerful—or maybe a powerful artifact. Ethan believed it should be the latter. Because if such a powerful individual existed here, Elyndros and Melissa would have surely noticed.

Then suddenly, he saw a man entering the town from that gate. He was wearing a strange overcoat.

His two fangs were protruding from his mouth, and he had pale skin.

"A vampire, huh? But this one seemed a little different than the ones from the vampire race in my universe. This little shit feels more filthy. And he is reeking with a higher order of ghost energy—or rather death energy."

The vampire directly came to the inn, probably got a message that Ethan was here.

Ethan smiled weirdly. He felt a little playful. This vampire had 780 Sun level power. Indeed, very powerful.

But he wanted to play with it. So he cast the Chaos Domain around the room.

"Let’s see if you can open the door or not? Hahahahah!"

He started laughing.

How embarrassing would it be to not even be able to open the door to kill his prey—for a vampire infront of it’s subordinates.
