Chapter 207: Accepting the offer
CHAPTER 207: ACCEPTING THE OFFER
Ethan looked at Madam Kate. He didn’t think this woman would give him the chance without even asking.
Ethan thought for a moment and asked,
"Senior, do you know how long it took Victor Frankenstein to reach God tier?"
Kate replied calmly, "1 million years."
Ethan’s eyes widened. One million years was a huge amount of time for him because he had only lived for 6 years, plus a little more than 300 years in that dream.
Ethan said, "Senior, you know I am from another world. I have friends and family there. So I don’t think I will be able to live here for that much longer."
Kate was surprised. This boy was rejecting her offer even when she was offering him power similar to Victor Frankenstein’s.
She didn’t think this boy was naive or that he failed to understand the value of her offering.
So she asked, "You can’t live without your parents? You are a child and can’t live without them?"
She asked in a teasing voice.
Ethan smiled at her teasing and said, "Yeah, I am a child. I am becoming stronger for them. What is the value of becoming stronger if, when I finally become the strongest, my beloved ones are no longer with me?"
Kate was watching him closely. A pure soul, exactly what she had been looking for. This boy was very honest with his thought. His aptitude and pure soul made him the perfect candidate in Kate’s eyes.
She smiled and said, "How about this? You talk to your parents and friends, then come back here. You can go back to your family once every year."
Ethan was really surprised.
"You will allow that? You aren’t afraid people will get information from me about your civilization?"
Kate laughed a little.
"If you accept my offer, you will become one of us. Who would even dare to take information from you? Not even another civilization would dare to do this, let alone the people from your world."
Ethan said, "I agree to your offer. So how will I be able to return here once I talk to my family?"
"Don’t worry, I’ll give you a teleportation stone. You will be able to teleport with that."
Kate smiled very softly. She was someone who stood above God tier. So she looked at life in a different perspective than mortals.
Kate didn’t have an heir. She wanted to train someone who could contend with the Apex generation and who would be able to bring her the Liquid of Eternity from that place where only someone under 100 years old could enter.
So she wanted a talented person, maybe someone like Victor Frankenstein, to train. That person would help her obtain that thing. It was a win–win situation for both of them.
So she didn’t hide her intentions from Ethan and told him about her intension, why she wanted to train Ethan.
Ethan also heaved a sigh of releif when he heard this. There was nothing like free lunched in the world, if someone offering you something free meaned he or she wanted something very precious from you.
Now that Ethan knew her intensions, he felt more at ease.
Kate could also see a shadow of a divine beast inside the boy, but she didn’t probe further. A divine beast didn’t matter much to her.
However, she could not sense Misha or Wukong’s true identity, as Sasha was a tier 16 Paragon Beast while she herself was a tier 15 Supreme Tier Magus.
And the contract also altered their presence of existence completely.
So Ethan was safe for now.
He had first planned to enter one of the civilizations, then do something crazy to show his talent, since Sasha had told him that they valued talent very much.
Ethan was confident that he would be able to catch their attention with his talent, and then he would take their help.
But he didn’t expect that someone from this civilization would directly offer him a place without him even doing anything crazy yet, and that she would even allow him to leave once every year.
There was no reason for him to refuse.
So, while the iron was still hot, he hammered again,
"Senior, I am a beast master too. I was looking for some particular types of beasts. Do you think they are available in this origin world?"
Then Ethan told her the 8 types of beasts he wanted.
Kate thought for a moment and said, "Among them, some are easy to find but some are very rare. You might have to wait years just to find one. Are you really willing to wait for that long?"
Ethan nodded.
"I am a magus too. I can just improve my magus realm, and when I get the appropriate beasts, my beast master realm will automatically improve."
Kate nodded.
"Okay, I know the location of 3 beasts among them. But their locations are hidden in a secret realm, which will open in a month. You have to wait until then."
Ethan became excited.
"Thank you, Senior."
Then he asked again," So about that teleportation stone, what is it actually?"
Kate took out a stone the size of Ethan’s fist. It was black.
She said, "This is a teleportation stone. You will be able to use it to go anywhere you have been before. But you can only use it once a day."
Ethan’s eyes were sparkling. He had wanted something like this very badly. Now that this thing had come into his hand, he would surely learn teleportation on his own later using this stone as a reference.
"Senior, I think my ancestor and friends are worried. Can you help me reach them? I’ll be back in a month."
Kate nodded, and a portal appeared in front of Ethan. He entered the portal.
Kate looked to her right and ordered, "Protect him from the shadow."
There was no one visible there, but someone moved from the fold of space and followed Ethan from behind.
Meanwhile, in the place where everyone from the magus world had appeared,
Edian was having a nervous breakdown. Ethan had been lost during teleportation, and it had already been 2 days, yet he still couldn’t find him.
Sunny, Delilah, Martha, and Delilah’s aunt were also helping him search for Ethan. They hadn’t even gone to search for resources yet because of this.
Sunny wouldn’t budge a single inch without finding Ethan, so Martha could only continue searching for him.
