Li Li walked into Mo Wenwan’s office and said calmly:

"Was it you who handled the matter with Lin Xiaoxiao?"

"Heh, she had bad luck, blame it on fate. But she’s not fit to play that role."

Li Li looked at Mo Wenwan indifferently and said, "I’ve already recommended one of our company’s artists to the director. They’ve checked in by now."

Mo Wenwan wasn’t surprised at all. She smiled and said, "As expected of Boss Li, truly swift and decisive."

His face remained cold: "No matter the means, as long as the result is good, I don’t care too much about the methods. But I do have one condition—I hope Manager Mo understands."

"Please, go ahead."

"Don’t leave any loose ends. Lu Qing is not someone to be provoked."

Mo Wenwan nodded knowingly, "You can rest assured when it comes to me."

"This matter will stop here for now. Overdoing it will backfire, and that’d be dangerous."

"I understand." Though she said so, she was calculating something else in her mind.

She wanted Qin Miaomiao to know the pain of losing her trusted allies.

When Qin Miaomiao learned that Lin Xiaoxiao’s role had been replaced by a newcomer, she wasn’t too surprised. But when she found out it was Huang who had replaced Lin Xiaoxiao, she immediately realized that this was Li Li’s doing, in collaboration with Mo Wenwan.

At this moment, Qin Miaomiao was brainstorming solutions. Before she realized it, two hours had passed. By the time she snapped back to reality, the sun had already set.

Thinking about Lin Xiaoxiao’s matter left her restless. Just as she was about to step out, she received a call from Xu Jiaojiao.

"Miaomiao, how’s Xiaoxiao? Is she badly hurt?"

Holding her phone, Qin Miaomiao walked to the glass window and said, "Don’t worry, Xiaoxiao’s in a cast for now but she’s fine. The doctor advised her to rest well, and she’ll be discharged in a couple of days to recover at home."

"What about the production team though? I’ve heard rumors that someone’s already joined the cast to replace Xiaoxiao in her role."

"Oh? Since you know about it, then it’s likely no secret by now. But the director hasn’t said a word about it."

"How can they do this? That’s too much!"

Qin Miaomiao remained exceptionally calm and said in a low voice, "I’ll handle this matter. Don’t forget—you need to enter the production crew early tomorrow."

"Got it. I’ll give it my all for this new project."

"Hearing that puts me at ease."

Knowing Xu Jiaojiao was a very dedicated person, Qin Miaomiao was confident this new script was something she truly wanted to work on. It was an action film, with a decent director and team, and she had been looking forward to its start for a while. She had even done her homework in advance on how to get along with the director and co-stars. It looked like this project held great promise.

Arriving at the production crew an hour earlier than planned, Xu Jiaojiao glanced over the set, and her expression shifted when she noticed a particular actress she didn’t like—Fang Fei. Fang Fei had used underhanded methods to steal a role from her before. Xu Jiaojiao hadn’t heard any news about her being part of this project, and now her presence left her uncomfortable.

Her assistant noticed and whispered, "I didn’t know she was part of this either. Sister Jiaojiao, you promised President Qin that you’d maintain good relationships with the director and everyone else."

Xu Jiaojiao shrugged. "Relax—I’m not so foolish as to lose sight of the bigger picture."

Jiaojiao asked the assistant to bring the pre-purchased drinks and snacks from the car, then greeted the staff on set one by one. The actors who trickled in to check in all acted friendly on the surface.

"Xu Jiaojiao!"

"Here."
