My Coldhearted Husband’s Regret
Chapter 324 - 324 - Whispers Among Industry Elites
The Crystal family's technology enterprise had been facing financial troubles for years, hemorrhaging money due to their lack of innovative technology and qualified personnel at the helm.
During his recent international business trip, Cullen had dedicated considerable effort to recruiting several top-tier technical specialists specifically for the Crystal family's struggling company. With his strategic intervention and the expertise of these new hires, the Crystal enterprise was positioned for a significant turnaround in the coming months.
These developments, however, were irrelevant to Veronica. Marco reasoned that if she still harbored any emotional attachment to Cullen, learning about his continued involvement with her family would only cause her unnecessary pain. So, during their lunch, he deliberately avoided mentioning Cullen's assistance to the Crystal business.
After finishing their meal, Marco excused himself to attend to other commitments, and they parted ways.
When Monday arrived, the transfer of Stellar's shares to Niall was officially completed. Veronica and Dario discovered this news simultaneously when it exploded across their industry group chat the moment the transaction was finalized.
Veronica had never shared with Dario the details about Cullen's extravagant gifts to Dora—like the luxury villa worth over 600 million—or his Valentine's Lewis share transfer to Niall. Though Dario understood that Cullen treated Niall exceptionally well, he had never fully comprehended the magnitude of Cullen's generosity toward her.
When the news appeared on his screen, Dario froze momentarily. Biting his lower lip, he couldn't help but mutter, "Damn, that's some serious generosity."
Veronica, having already been privy to this information beforehand, remained unmoved. "Let's just focus on work," she replied simply.
The following evening, they attended a scheduled industry banquet. By the time Veronica and Dario arrived, the venue was buzzing with attendees.
Shortly thereafter, Marco and Nate made their entrance as well.
Just as Marco approached them to exchange greetings, Cullen and Niall entered the banquet hall, guided by the host of the event.
As was her custom, Niall was adorned in designer clothing, her jewelry and accessories nothing short of opulent.
Stellar's reputation within their industry was stellar, and the news of Cullen transferring the entire company to Niall had spread rapidly through professional circles. Consequently, when they appeared, they immediately commanded the attention of nearly everyone present.
"That's Cullen and his girlfriend," someone nearby whispered. "You've all heard about the Stellar deal, right? Cullen is talented and successful, yet even he couldn't resist a beautiful woman."
"A company with such great potential, and he just handed it over like that—what a grand gesture," another commented.
"Exactly! If I were Niall, I'd be over the moon. Imagine having a boyfriend who spoils you this much."
At this remark, another guest chimed in, "Didn't Cullen have a wife before? Funny how he never treated his ex-wife this generously."
"I heard he didn't love her. He only married her because he had no choice," someone replied.
"Makes sense. Otherwise, he wouldn't have kept his marriage a secret all this time. If not for Mrs. Dennis Senior's birthday party last time, no one would have even known he was married."
"Yeah, exactly."
Upon hearing these comments, Dario and Marco instinctively glanced at Veronica, concerned about her reaction. However, her expression remained perfectly composed, betraying no emotion whatsoever.
Bonnie was also present at the banquet. Having not seen Marco for quite some time, she had specifically accompanied Niall with the intention of encountering him.
The moment she spotted Marco, she swiftly approached. "Marco," she called out.
Marco, however, offered no response.
Feeling slighted by his cold shoulder, Bonnie's expression darkened momentarily. But when she noticed Veronica nearby, she pressed her lips together, let out a small, indignant huff, then quickly forced a smile and said, "Marco, Niall and Cullen are over there. Let's go over and join them."
