Sabrina had never harbored any particular aversion to the color pink. In fact, she typically found herself drawn to anything that possessed an element of cuteness or aesthetic appeal.

So when Cecelia proudly displayed her plush toy with unbridled enthusiasm, Sabrina responded with a genuine smile and an affirming nod. "Yes, it's very cute," she remarked sincerely before extending her gift toward Cecelia.

After accepting the present with polite gratitude, Cecelia couldn't contain her excitement as she continued sharing. "I got a hand-baked birthday cake too! It's blue and so pretty!" Her eyes sparkled as she turned toward Marco. "Can you help me open it, Uncle Marco?"

Nate observed the interaction with interest, one eyebrow arched knowingly. "She not only prepared a cake for Cecelia but also brought gifts. That shows considerable thoughtfulness, doesn't it? What are you waiting for, Marco?"

The fact that Veronica had risen early to bake a special cake for Cecelia despite her demanding schedule spoke volumes about how much she valued the little girl. Even with Cullen and Sabrina present in the room, Marco couldn't suppress the warm smile that formed on his lips at the mere mention of Veronica's name.

Niall, who had been watching carefully, finally understood. Yesterday, she'd harbored doubts about Marco's true feelings for Veronica, but that gentle smile just now confirmed everything—he had fallen completely for her.

No wonder he no longer answered her calls with his previous promptness over the past few months. Sometimes, he didn't even pick up at all. Niall had convinced herself he was simply occupied when she called, but now the truth was becoming painfully clear.

She pursed her lips, struggling to comprehend what qualities Veronica possessed that had so thoroughly captivated Marco's heart.

The meaning behind Marco's unintentional smile was transparent, and Nate seized the opportunity to tease him. "So, you're finally admitting you like her?" he prompted with a knowing grin.

Cullen, noticing Marco's expression, responded with a smile of his own. The private lounge buzzed with a palpable excitement.

After a while, Cecelia began making her birthday wish. Once she finished, Marco assisted her in cutting the cake. Sabrina received the first slice.

Her face brightened noticeably after taking the initial bite. "It's so tasty!" she exclaimed. The flavor was unmistakably reminiscent of Veronica's baking.

Sabrina realized that she hadn't seen Veronica in some time. Would Veronica bake a cake for her birthday too? The thought filled her with anticipation.

Despite not typically enjoying sweets, Nate savored a few bites before remarking, "It really is delicious. Looks like this person has some serious skills, Marco. You're a lucky guy."

Marco's smile faltered momentarily as he cast a subtle glance in Cullen's direction. Cullen was also eating the cake, though he was merely nibbling at it without offering any comment.

Initially, Niall had been reluctant to try the cake knowing Veronica had made it. After a brief hesitation, however, she decided to taste it. She had to admit—it wasn't bad at all.

As Nate continued his praise, Niall couldn't help but think sarcastically that perhaps Marco was attracted to Veronica because she represented the ideal wife with her culinary prowess.

With this thought in mind, she noticed Marco's glance toward Cullen. Under normal circumstances, Niall wouldn't have given Marco's look any particular significance. But in that moment, she understood the meaning behind it.

Cullen and Veronica were still legally married. Did Marco truly believe that being with someone like Veronica represented happiness? He must be simultaneously envious of Cullen while secretly hoping for their divorce to proceed quickly so he could officially pursue Veronica.

The realization struck Niall suddenly—Marco's feelings for Veronica likely ran deeper than she had initially imagined.
