CHAPTER 1: QI YUAN

Canglan World. Divine Radiance Sect.

The sound of the morning bell rang continuously, waking all the disciples. They were full of spirit as they started circulating and refining their qi. The sounds of morning practice echoed throughout the sect. It was full of vitality.

On the Seven-Colored Peak, Qi Yuan lay in bed. The sound of the morning bell was particularly piercing. He covered his ears.

The wooden cat puppet then opened its mouth and called out, “Wake up! Wake up!”

Qi Yuan waved his hand and stuffed a small wooden fish into the wooden cat puppet's mouth, effectively silencing it.

He shifted in bed and continued to sleep comfortably.

The sun is high up in the sky and I continue to sleep. Who is the immortal? I am the immortal!

An unknown amount of time passed before Qi Yuan slowly woke up.

He took a deep breath. "Hmm, the air of this world is quite fresh."

The reason he was talking as if he wasn’t really from this world was that... he really wasn’t. He had transmigrated to this world half a year back, and he was originally from another world known as the Blue Planet.

Unlike the Blue Planet, this world had supernatural things and immortal cultivators.

By a twist of fate, Qi Yuan joined the Divine Radiance Sect and became a disciple of the Seven-Colored Peak, one of the sect’s five peaks. The only disciple of the Seven-Colored Peak, to be more specific.

The clouds atop the peak suddenly rippled, then dissipated in an instant, as if nothing had happened.

His master lived at the summit, but there was a restriction in place; Qi Yuan was not allowed to go up. Unaware of the clouds gathering and dispersing above, Qi Yuan began descending the Seven-Colored Peak.

Today, the Divine Radiance Sect was recruiting new disciples. He was to represent the Seven-Colored Peak, to recruit new disciples.

The vast Seven-Colored Peak had only him, an unpromising disciple, and the sect members had some opinions about this.

Of course, the Seven-Colored Peak’s Peak Master was powerful, so they kept their opinions to themselves. It was just that now, even the Peak Master had an issue with Qi Yuan. Hence, they were to recruit more disciples.

Just then, a voice rang out, “Senior Qi Yuan from the Seven-Colored Peak has arrived.”

Qi Yuan appeared before the crowd in his white robes, with a jade pendant at his waist. His stature appeared tall and proud as he walked toward the light.

Several Divine Radiance Sect disciples as well as the newly admitted disciples turned to look at Qi Yuan.

"I never thought Senior Qi Yuan would actually come down the mountain!"

"He is... better looking than the rumors made him out to be."

"What a pity, such a beautiful man, yet..."

"Yet?"

"He behaves so strangely. There must be something wrong with his brain!"

"Huh?"

"Actually, not exactly. It is just that the way he cultivates is unlike normal people. His cultivation path is Obsession. Cultivators of this path all have unique personalities."

The cultivators whispered amongst themselves and several of them looked at Qi Yuan with odd expressions.

In the Canglan World, there were three types of people you don't mess with.

Healers were masters of medicine and could heal people. All cultivators were at risk of getting injured and would need healers to speed up their recovery. Hence, they could not afford to mess with healers. Plus, many healers were also skilled with poisons, both deadly and invisible. It was best not to offend them.

The battle prowess of swordsmen was astounding, and they were ruthless. If one could avoid them, one should avoid them.

As for Obsession cultivators, they were a completely different breed. This type of cultivators fixated on one thing to the point of obsession. It could be a sword, a flower, or even a person.

Their extreme obsession often hinted at mental instability. It was better to avoid them as it was difficult to tell when they would lose control.

Qi Yuan was an Obsession cultivator.

"Junior Brother Qi Yuan, you are a little late," Kang Fulu said softly.

Qi Yuan yawned. "I slept late last night."

The senior disciples of the other peaks did not say anything more.

Kang Fulu announced, "Since everyone is here, let's start with the recruitment."

The square was filled with new disciples who had just passed the entrance trials.

The senior disciples of each peak were responsible for selecting new members into their respective peaks.

Kang Fulu stepped forward and looked over the hundreds of new disciples, speaking slowly, “The Divine Radiance Sect is one of the three Great Immortal Sects of the Great Shang Kingdom. Congratulations to all of you. Having passed rigorous trials, you are now officially disciples of the Divine Radiance Sect.”

Upon hearing this, the hundreds of young boys and girls present looked excited.

After all, the Divine Radiance Sect was one of the three strongest sects in the Great Shang Kingdom. It was extremely prestigious to be part of a sect like this.

Kang Fulu was satisfied with the reaction of the crowd and continued, "There are a total of five peaks in Divine Radiance Sect, you may choose to join one peak."

“This is Zhuge Miao, senior disciple of the Divine Medicine Peak.”

“This is Xu Yiyi, senior disciple of the Myriad Arts Peak.”

“This is Qi Yuan, senior disciple of the Seven-Colored Peak.”

“I am Kang Fulu, personal disciple of the Five-Light Peak’s Peak Master, son-in-law of the Divine Radiance Sect's Sect Master, compiler of the Five-Light Saint Arts, creator of the Little Sun Technique, and Chief Senior Disciple of the Five-Light Peak.”

As he spoke, divine lights of five different colours appeared above Kang Fulu’s head, making him look brilliant and eye-catching.

That’s right. This was Kang Fulu, also known as the flashiest show-off of the Five-Light Peak.
