CHAPTER 58: THE PREVENTED FIGHT

They continued to surround and attack relentlessly, with not a single disciple from the Gu Yang Sect planning to retreat from the area.

Li Shen remained inside the safe house, keeping a close watch on them and ensuring that his defensive bell was capable of protecting the place. As long as there were no Soul Formation cultivators, they would not be able to destroy the blue dragon bell.

"Will their sect ancestor come?" asked Li Xun, who still remained there with Li Shen.

"He will come, we just need to lure him out," replied Li Shen.

"How?"

Li Xun’s father fell silent, then flew into the sky, piercing through the top of the blue dragon bell. Li Shen was standing right in the middle of the Gu Yang Sect’s siege.

Li Shen’s sudden arrival was enough to take them by surprise. Now, their attacks were no longer aimed at the safe house, but at Li Shen.

"You fool! Do you think you can defeat us alone?!" shouted one of them, a sect elder at the Middle Nascent Soul Stage.

"You are too weak. Of course, I can handle all of you alone."

Li Shen flicked his finger, bringing forth a protective ball of spiritual energy capable of protecting him. All the cultivators from the Gu Yang Sect continued to try to destroy the protective ball. But they never succeeded.

"Huft."

’I knew it. They will run out of spiritual energy,’ replied Li Shen.

"How about it? Can you kill me?" Li Shen asked, speaking in a challenging tone.

"Damn it! Who are you really?" they asked, furious.

The man fell silent, then sighed as he lifted his foot and stepped forward. Li Shen walked across the sky, followed by a powerful magical pressure bearing down on everyone from the Gu Yang Sect.

The Nascent Soul cultivators knelt helplessly in the sky, but those with lower realms fell from the sky. They felt the true power of the blue-robed cultivator.

"You’re not a Nascent Soul cultivator," one of the elders whispered painfully.

"I never said my cultivation was Nascent Soul."

As Li Shen was intimidating them, one of the elders was seen patting his magic pouch and holding a red plate bearing the name of his ancestor. Li Shen saw the man and immediately reached forward to grab the plate.

"No!" shouted the elder as Li Shen grabbed the plate.

"Do you want to call your sect’s ancestors?" asked Li Shen flatly.

"Yes."

CRASH!

"Then let him come!"

Li Shen destroyed the red plate with his spiritual energy, which would have transmitted a signal to the Gu Yang Sect, where their ancestors were cultivating peacefully.

The man’s eyes widened as he received the signal from the destroyed emergency plate. He tapped his magic pouch and watched seven red plates float in front of him, one of which belonged to the Gu Yang Sect Leader, Yan Zhao.

"They are fine, but why was the red plate destroyed?" asked the man, still sitting in the lotus position on top of the hill with a tree in full bloom.

He rose from his seat, stepped to the edge of the hill and looked down. There, he saw that there were few people guarding the Gu Yang Sect.

It was possible that they had offended a powerful sect, causing them to seek help from their ancestors.

In a flash, the man left the top of the hill in a gust of wind. Thanks to the spiritual energy in the form of signals he received, he knew the exact location of all his sect members.

At that place, Li Shen did not find any of their ancestors coming, even though the emergency red plate had already been destroyed. Li Shen became impatient.

He raised his hand and swung it downward. This caused the magical pressure bearing down on them to grow stronger and more intense, making it difficult for them to hold out any longer.

"If your ancestors are late, you will be injured, your cultivation will fall one stage, or in the worst case, you will die," Li Shen threatened.

Li Shen turned his head and smiled at one of their elders who was staring intently at Li Shen with intimidation.

"The ancestors will never forgive you!" said the elder firmly.

"Really? I’m curious, how strong are they really—"

GRASP!

Li Shen turned slowly and glanced to the side, seeing a man in a long reddish-white robe approaching without Li Shen realizing it. His hair was long and white with a small crown tied at the back of his head, looking similar to a bun.

"Fellow Daoist. You don’t need to do something like this, right?" asked the man.

Through Li Shen’s eyes, he could see clearly that the man approaching him was a man with a higher cultivation level, a middle-stage Soul Formation cultivator. It was safe to say that he was an ancestor of the Gu Yang Sect.

He was also the one who had poisoned Ying Ying, causing Sect Master Mu Ying to nearly die from the poison that had taken control of her body.

"You must be an ancestor of the Gu Yang Sect. I’ve been waiting for you for quite some time, "Li Shen replied.

Instead of responding with anger or annoyance, the man smiled as he released his grip on Li Shen.

Through his eyes, Li Shen was only a Middle Nascent Soul cultivator. But cultivation could be deceiving. Li Shen’s strength was definitely much stronger than Nascent Soul.

"So, can you release the people from my sect?" asked the man.

"I will release them if you no longer have any business with me," replied Li Shen.

"Aren’t you in collusion with Mu Ying? You should know that my sect and Mu Ying’s sect have never been on good terms," explained the man.

"I have no connection with them," explained Li Shen, staring intently at the man’s face.

The Gu Yang sect ancestor raised his hand to waist level, revealing a black wheel that continued to spin on his palm. Li Shen turned his head and saw it.

"The Dao concept!" said Li Shen firmly.

"I will follow your will if you show me your true abilities!" said the man firmly.

Li Shen sighed, then touched his forehead slowly. From his forehead, Li Shen released a Dao Domain Banner that the ancestral man didn’t have.

Seeing the Dao Domain Banner was enough to shock him. He had challenged the wrong person. He didn’t expect Li Shen to have the ability to manifest the Dao Concept to the point of reaching the Dao Domain Banner.

"Are you a Soul Ascension?" the man asked.

Li Shen swung his hand sideways, dispelling the magical pressure and freeing everyone in the area without exception. They were freed, the elders immediately flew towards their ancestor.

"Ancestor. We must attack him with our numbers, " ordered Yan Zhao, still injured.

The man raised his hand to shoulder height, signaling them to stop talking nonsense. With Li Shen’s abilities, he could easily wipe out the Gu Yang Sect.

"He has the Dao Domain Banner. If that’s the case, his cultivation level must be higher than mine," explained the man.

"Attacking him without knowing his abilities is the same as suicide. You should be aware of that, Yan Zhao," replied the man, glaring sharply.

"Junior understands, Ancestor."

"How about it? Do you still want to stay here?" asked Li Shen, stomping his Dao Domain Banner on the sky floor, causing the entire area to transform into the appearance of the Gu Yang Sect being destroyed in fire and war.

Everyone was stunned, unable to believe Li Shen’s ability to display the future of their sect. However, the elder clearly stated that this was an illusion.

"What are you trying to show us? The destruction of our sect?" the man asked.

"It depends. If you choose to leave us alone, then the destruction of your sect will never happen," Li Shen explained.

"However, if you insist on purifying my soul and my daughter’s, then I will ensure that the Gu Yang sect is destroyed and all souls in that place will be refined!

The elder fell silent, then looked back at his surroundings where his sect had been completely destroyed. He also appeared to be dead on the ground, pierced by a legendary spear.

There was only one person left in the sky, And that was Li Shen. The man had made his decision.

"Very well. We will not bother you anymore, Daoist Fellow," replied the man, putting his hands together.

Li Shen responded in kind, stopping his Dream Dao Domain illusion and putting his hands together, paying his respects to the man in front of him.

"We take our leave."
