The rift opened at midnight.

The golden figure stepped through.

And the world cracked.

Buildings twisted. Stars fell like rain. Screams echoed from nowhere. The Codex caught fire in Valmira’s hands.

I stood at the center of it all, the shard gone, the fire in my chest burning brighter than ever.

"Your cycle ends here," I said.

The golden figure tilted its head.
