CHAPTER 1417: CHAPTER 1417: THE SHOW BEGINS (1)

Su Hongxing came out of the bathroom and found Ye Qilan still knocking on the door.

She stepped forward to open it, "Get some sleep earlier; you’ve already woken up the kids."

Ye Qilan hugged Su Hongxing tightly, "Honey, what you said today can’t be taken back!"

"Fine, I think you’re just too annoying..." Su Hongxing hadn’t finished speaking when Ye Qilan released her again.

"Alright, I’ll go to sleep then." After saying this, Ye Qilan left, but soon he came back and confessed to Su Hongxing, "Honey, I love you!"

Su Hongxing’s ears turned red; she wasn’t accustomed to Ye Qilan’s sudden declaration of love.

Confirming that Ye Qilan wouldn’t cause any more disturbances, Su Hongxing finally closed the door and turned around, only to have Little Pudding leap toward her: "Mommy, I love you!"

Even Little Baozi, who was being held by Qiao Qiao, got excited, flailing his arms and legs adorably.

"Su, you really know how to manage your husband." Qiao Qiao joked with a laugh.

Ye Qilan seemed like a completely different person at home compared to outside. Outside, he was reserved, but facing Su Hongxing, he was just an ordinary man starved for love.

Su Hongxing smiled without replying, picking up Little Pudding and putting her back on the bed.

"Mommy, I love you more than Daddy does, so Mommy has to love Little Pudding the most!" Little Pudding clung to Su Hongxing’s neck, adorably demanding her affection.

"Yes, yes, I love Little Pudding the most." Su Hongxing was helpless against the child’s playful competition for love.

Hearing this, Little Pudding rolled excitedly on the bed, "I’m better than Daddy, huh!"

Su Hongxing and Qiao Qiao exchanged glances, thinking the child was being silly, but even silly, she was extraordinarily cute.

The next morning, when Su Hongxing came downstairs, she saw Ye Qilan waiting at the staircase, staring at her with a cheesy, affectionate look.

She avoided his fiery gaze and went down the stairs first.

"Honey, you look so beautiful today." Ye Qilan followed closely behind her, his eyes warm and soft.

"You’re quite handsome yourself." Out of courtesy, Su Hongxing returned a response to Ye Qilan.

"Then, doesn’t that make us the perfect match, a couple made in heaven?" Ye Qilan had just finished sweet-talking Su Hongxing when Xiao Ji appeared with a swollen face that looked like a pig’s head.

Ye Qilan’s smile faded, and he clasped Su Hongxing’s arm as if making a show of dominance while staring at Xiao Ji.

"Good morning, Amou!" After resting overnight, Xiao Ji was largely healed, though half his face remained swollen, making him look comically odd.

"Morning." Su Hongxing replied with a smile. After that, she didn’t know what else to say.

Xiao Ji, however, was eager to start a conversation: "Did you rest well last night?"

Before Su Hongxing could speak, Ye Qilan cut in ahead of her: "Honey, let’s have breakfast first, then we can head to work earlier."

Su Hongxing nodded. She also felt awkward around Xiao Ji and never knew quite how to interact with him.

Xiao Ji, on the other hand, didn’t seem to mind and spent the entire breakfast trying to curry favor with Su Hongxing. This time, Ye Qilan didn’t lose his temper; he felt confident and no longer considered Xiao Ji a serious rival.

As long as Su Hongxing’s heart belonged to him, Ye Qilan wasn’t afraid of a so-called love rival like Xiao Ji.

Ye Qilan originally planned to drive Su Hongxing to work, but she stopped him: "Aren’t we supposed to be pretending to be at odds? If we’re acting, we have to make it convincing—only then can Du Qingyu slip up quickly."

"Alright, I’ll listen to you." Though deep inside, Ye Qilan wanted to announce to the whole world that he and Su Hongxing were madly in love, with no one capable of breaking them apart.

But since there was still one mastermind lurking in the shadows, hidden risks remained. For enduring happiness, he had to prioritize the bigger picture.
