“Doesn’t he live in Qingmu Garden? Why is he looking for me? Anyway, as long as he’s in Qingmu Garden, I won’t go back.” Qiao Qiao felt that Ye Shiqing was becoming more and more terrifying, often giving her unsettling looks.

Of course, she hadn’t shared this with Su Hongxing, fearing that Hongxing would laugh at her.

“Has he called you?” Su Hongxing asked again.

The next morning at ten, Su Hongxing hadn’t seen Qiao Qiao show up for work, and she began to worry.

She called Qiao Qiao’s cellphone, but it was turned off. She then called the Qiao Family home and, after probing Qiao Qiao’s mother, confirmed that Qiao Qiao hadn’t returned to stay at home the previous night.

“Qingyin, have you heard from Qiao Qiao today?” Su Hongxing approached Liu Qingyin to ask.

“I was just wondering why she hasn’t come to work. I thought you knew the reason.”

Liu Qingyin’s reply made Su Hongxing’s heart sink further.

Please, please let it not be that her fears from last night had come true—if Qiao Qiao had been taken by Ye Shiqing for baby-making, then what?

At one point, she’d thought Ye Shiqing, no matter how obsessed, wasn’t as terrifying as Ye Qilan. But now it seemed she’d underestimated him.

“I’m going to find her!” With that, Su Hongxing asked Director Qiao for leave and went to Qiao Qiao’s apartment to look for her.

On the way, she tried calling Ye Shiqing’s phone. At first, it connected, but later he turned it off, leaving her halfway chilled.

When Su Hongxing arrived at Qiao Qiao’s apartment, a neighbor happened to come out. Upon asking, she found out that Qiao Qiao had left for work early.

So, it was Ye Shiqing who had taken Qiao Qiao. And Ye Shiqing’s intention was to make Qiao Qiao pregnant? At least, the conclusion drawn from her conversation with Ye Shiqing last night pointed to that possibility.

She got into a taxi and called Ye Qilan, informing him that Qiao Qiao had possibly been taken by Ye Shiqing.

Unexpectedly, Ye Qilan was delighted upon hearing this. “Now, that’s a man of the Ye Family—bold and decisive. If he were wishy-washy, he’d hardly be Ye Shiqing. Honey, I think it’s great. Qiao Qiao seems to have feelings for my second brother, too. With him taking the initiative, they’ll soon have a happy future together.”

The best part? Qiao Qiao wouldn’t have free time to wander over to Qingmu Garden anymore. Isn’t that wonderful?

Su Hongxing was too exasperated to retort. “Qiao Qiao hasn’t even divorced yet. How can she bear Ye Shiqing’s child? This would be too much for her to handle. You Ye Family men are nothing but thugs and scoundrels!”

Ye Qilan, in high spirits, chuckled lightly. “I’m a thug and a scoundrel, and yet you love me, don’t you?”

“I get pissed every time I talk to you! Anyway, I need you to find Ye Shiqing and stop this from escalating into a disaster.” Su Hongxing almost forgot the real reason she had called.

Ye Qilan paused briefly. “Honestly, I don’t know where my second brother is, either. But I can send people to check his usual haunts. Whether we’ll find him, I can’t guarantee. If we don’t, don’t blame me for not being diligent enough, Honey—you can’t hold me responsible.”
