My Farm System: Reaching The Top In The Parallel Earth!
Chapter 391: Fortune Aura from Eclipsion Realm
CHAPTER 391: CHAPTER 391: FORTUNE AURA FROM ECLIPSION REALM
With the information that Claude gained, his decision to help the townspeople grew. He cannot save every realm that is oppressed with his limited abilities, but saving a single town is definitely within his power.
Claude conversed with the bartender for some more time, gathering as much information as he could.
He might have a sense of justice, but he was not stupid or hasty. Information is power, as they say.
Even if he currently has the power to contend against mid-cycle Senior Mages, there are still stronger people who could defeat him.
When he was satisfied, Claude gave a few more pieces of mid-grade mana stones before heading out of the tavern, planning to act immediately.
He doesn’t know how long he will stay in this realm, as this depends on his Master’s whim; might as well do good deeds immediately while he still has time.
When Claude exited the tavern, night has already fallen. Darkness blanketed the world, but the magic lamps in the streets made it so that there was still high visibility.
If Earth can have street lights thanks to technology, other realms could use magic to accomplish the same thing. This didn’t surprise him.
His footsteps were unhurried as if he had all the time in the world, and after just a few minutes, he entered a rather secluded street before stopping.
"Show yourself" Claude said, despite being the only person in the street. However, his tone was filled with confidence as if he were 100% sure that there were people who followed him.
Time passed, and it was as if Claude merely talked to empty air; nothing was happening, nor did anyone show themselves. Just as he was about to make a move, another voice suddenly appeared.
"Hehehe, you have got quite the sharp senses" the voice said, and from the shadows of the dark night, several figures emerged.
"Judging by your behavior and demeanor, you’re not a native of this realm, correct?" The leading figure that emerged from the shadows said.
Humans of various realms mostly look the same with no differences. Of course, there are also humans of other realms with more distinct appearances, but they are on the rarer side.
As such, it was hard to determine whether someone was a native or not. At the very least, Great Mages and below cannot distinguish whether a person is a native of the realm or not. It required the power of at least a Noble 4th Rank Mage.
"I am not" Claude admitted, not really thinking that there was a reason to hide it.
"Heh... outsiders like you are the reason why we, natives, are living in hardship and oppression. If the people in the main cities do not reproduce enough, they set their sights on the scattered human settlements to capture us and sell us as slaves."
"We cannot defeat them, but at the very least, we can deal with a single low-cycle Senior Mage"
The humans in this town, relative to humans living in the city, are actually already faring better. Those living in the main cities are forced to reproduce so that the invaders will have a constant supply of ’commodities’.
However, if the supply is not enough, they will set their eyes on the other scattered natives, capturing them to make up for the numbers.
It’s like owning a fish pond. If the harvest was large enough, the fish pond would suffice. But if the harvest is low, they would be forced to capture ’wild’ fish.
Perhaps, this was the only reason why there are still natives not entirely in the control of the invaders.
"I am an outsider, but I am not the one who oppresses natives of this realm. In fact, I even want to help the town eliminate the bandit groups terrorizing the town" Claude said calmly.
Despite being outnumbered, he was not the least bit afraid. He was no stranger to defeating and killing multiple enemies at the same time.
"Heh... do you think we would believe you?" The leading figure said with a sneer. "Hand over all of your belongings, and we can consider letting you go" he continued, and Claude glanced at him before sighing.
"Your goal is not really to punish the outsiders but to make ’easy money’ by robbing me. Why do you need to set justification?"
After being seen through, the leading figure’s face turned ashen. Claude not only has sharp senses but turns out he also has a sharp mind.
"Brothers, let’s deal with this outsider!" He rallied his men, and they started attacking Claude.
The bartender of the tavern was correct. The natives are afraid of the backing that outsiders have. They have the guts to rob outsiders but not turn them into slavers.
With a shake of his head, Claude stretched out his hand, sending streaks of bloody lightning. These robbers are even weaker than the bandits, and it didn’t take that long before he finished all of them.
Killing... Claude has long grown numb to this act. He cares for the innocent and weak, but he is merciless to the wicked.
Without even a single ripple appearing in his tranquil heart, Claude disposed of the bodies before heading out of the town.
This time, he wasn’t traveling to reach a town. He is showing himself outside the town to have the bandits attack him voluntarily.
The bartender doesn’t know the location of the largest bandit groups, but he knows the hideout of a few medium bandit groups.
However, such bandit groups are currently not within Claude’s capabilities. No matter what, he just reached the Senior Mage rank. He can contend against mages even 3 cycles higher than him, but it is impossible for him, as a 1st cycle Senior Mage, to defeat a 9th cycle Senior Mage.
Not to mention, these bandit groups are not only composed of one 9th-cycle Mage. Might as well have the bandits come to him personally
Just like when Claude tried to reach the town, it didn’t take that long before he encountered a group of bandits.
These bandits always rely on numbers to rob, and Claude once again faced a disadvantage when it came to numbers, but he was as unafraid as before.
This time, he will kill these bandits not just to reach a human settlement but also to help the realm get rid of some evil.
With a wave of his hand, bloody red lightning flew once more, killing three bandits with a single attack.
Claude was about to continue attacking, but he halted as he suddenly felt something.
"Fortune aura?"
After killing three bandits, Claude felt that he actually received fortune aura, although the amount was negligible, and having it was no different from not having it.
Back in the earth realm, even as the realm’s chosen, Claude only sensed the vast fortune aura he possessed when he reached the 6th fusion rank.
It was also the time he learned about his ’fate’. If the Earth realm hadn’t been destroyed, Claude would not exist even now, or at least not exist in the same way he exists now.
If he were successful in saving the Earth realm and took back the origin energy to slowly mend the broken laws of the realm, Claude would cease to exist, but at the same time still exist.
He would be caught between existence and non-existence. That was the ’cruel fate’ he knew, and the cruel fate that the Serpentine Empress knew he would have.
As for what that cruel fate exactly would be, even Claude doesn’t want to say it.
A realm’s chosen are blessed, but that is only when they are inside their realm, and only their realm can give them a fortune aura.
However, Claude is not in the Earth realm anymore. It was even more appropriate to say that the earth realm is in him and not that he was in it.
How is it possible for him to suddenly gain fortune aura? And it didn’t even come from the Earth realm, but the Eclipsion Realm!
This unexpected situation caught him off guard to the point that he almost gave the bandits a chance to hurt him.
Fortunately, his reflexes and instincts kicked in when sensing danger, and his body moved on its own to dodge.
With a frown, Claude even used his Innate Magic, the Yin-Yang Field, to deal with the bandits as fast as possible.
The more bandits he killed, the more the fortune aura he possessed grew. Of course, even after killing all the bandits, the fortune aura was still negligible.
If compared to an ocean, the fortune aura he obtained isn’t even a drop in the ocean. They are not enough to provide him with substantial benefits.
Still, fortune aura is fortune aura. The only way to obtain it is to either become a heaven’s blessed of a realm or the realm’s chosen.
How is it possible for Claude to obtain such a precious thing just by killing a few bandits? This doesn’t make any sense at all!
"What is happening to me? Why am I gaining fortune aura even when the Earth Realm is already destroyed, and this fortune aura even came from the Eclipsion Realm!"
