Anton knew that his defenses were powerful enough to stand on one of the indicators in front of the gate, but of course, he wouldn’t do something as foolish as gamble his life for something that could be done by a minion.

He summoned his Valkyrie from his Amazon skill tree, the Shadow Master from the Assassin skill tree, and his Clay Golem from the Necromancer skill tree and commanded the three minions to stand on the indicators.

As expected, his three summons received minimal damage until the gate opened. After that, Anton dismissed the three summons.

Anton commanded his raven to scout inside the gate and saw that it was a large chamber. He expected as much since gates with puzzles would almost always lead to a large chamber, and as per the rules, that chamber would have some sort of “boss” monster and his “adds”.

Surprisingly, the monsters inside the chamber were undead. The “boss” was some sort of pharaoh mummy. He thought of it as a pharaoh because it was a mummy, and it was the only one wearing a crown. It was also sitting on a throne.

Beside the pharaoh mummy, there were two mummies in costume. One was wearing some sort of mage councilor apparel like those grand viziers in movies, and the other one was sporting twin swords on its back.

There were no other monsters in the chamber, but based on what Anton knew in games and anime, the boss or the mage beside the boss would probably summon more minions. Anton did not waste any more time and just entered the chamber.

The moment he was inside the boss’s room, the mage mummy and the warrior mummy moved. The mage mummy summoned an army of mummies, and the warrior mummy sprinted towards him.

Anton flew up and cast Frozen Orb towards the army of mummies that the mage mummy summoned. He then summoned his Shadow Master to confront the warrior mummy. After Anton saw that the warrior mummy was focused on his Shadow Master, Anton turned his attention solely to defeating the mage mummy.

The mummies that the mage mummy summoned were weak and were demolished by just one cast of Frozen Orb. He did have to cast several of the said spell since there were a lot of weak mummies that were summoned. The mage mummy started casting spells at him. A red ray emitted from the mage mummy’s staff and hit Anton.

Anton saw that his mana pool had reduced by a quarter. Thankfully, his magic shields reduced the damage of the magic, and his Energy Shield redirected the rest to his mana pool, which filled up almost immediately due to his Meditation Aura.

He split his attention for a second to check up on his Shadow Master’s battle with the warrior mummy. He was surprised to see that the warrior mummy and the Shadow Master were almost equal in power. Anton’s shadow master was powerful, so he thought that the summon would dominate its battle against the mummy. He didn’t like that so he summoned his Valkyrie and now his two most powerful summons began beating the shit out of the warrior mummy.

Anton saw that the pharaoh mummy didn’t like that and it stood up from its throne. It started casting some sort of spell, but based on the result, the pharaoh mummy just buffed the warrior mummy. The Valkyrie and the Shadow Master were still beating the warrior mummy, so Anton concentrated on defeating the mage mummy.

The mage mummy foolishly kept summoning weak mummies. Anton simply killed the undead summons using his Frozen Orb spell. He also cast Hydra beside the mage mummy, and that confused the undead mage. It attacked the hydra, but since the hydra was just fire, the attack of the mage mummy just went through the hydra.

When all of the weak mummies were decimated, Anton focused fire on the mage mummy. He cast Frozen Orb, Chain Lightning, and Hydra towards the mage mummy. As all Diablo gamers knew, the greatest damage that the Frozen Orb could do was when it exploded inside a monster, so the moment it happened, the mage mummy was almost destroyed.

Since the spells that Anton was casting were area of effect spells, the pharaoh mummy beside the mage mummy was also affected. That angered the pharaoh mummy. The boss started growing larger, but Anton ignored it and kept casting spells on the mage mummy until it disintegrated.

When he checked the warrior mummy, he saw that his Valkyrie and Shadow Master had just killed it. Anton dismissed the two summons since he would cast area of effect spells on the boss, and his summons would just be affected by those.

The pharaoh mummy grew twice its size and actually started flying. It flew towards Anton, but he ignored it and started casting Frozen Orb and Blizzard to slow down the boss mummy. He then cast the Hydra spell so the firebolts from the Hydra would confuse the mummy.

When the pharaoh mummy got near Anton, he simply teleported to the other end of the chamber, which was near the throne, and kept on casting his spells. The pharaoh got enraged at Anton’s escape, shouted, and started casting some sort of red fireballs at Anton. He simply evaded the red fireballs by teleporting to the side.

The pharaoh mummy started to chase him again by flying at him at a very fast speed. Anton cast the Hurricane spell and continued casting Frozen Orb, Blizzard, and Chain Lightning. Soon, the boss monsters fell down and disintegrated.

Unfortunately, Anton couldn’t retrieve any body parts from the mummies since they were destroyed, but the three monsters did provide him with high-level mana stones. After a few seconds, Anton heard gear-like noises and saw that the throne the Pharaoh was sitting on began to lower and was replaced by two chests.

Anton summoned his Raven and used it to check if there were traps near or on the chest. When he was sure there were none, he opened the two chests and saw that they were filled with glowing, enchanted items. He simply stored everything in his inventory and moved on.

He summoned two Spirit Wolves to trigger the traps along the way and used the raven to scout ahead. While flying forward, Anton reflected on his last battle. He had to admit that the battle was easy for him, but considering the array of spells and skills both active and passive that he had, most battles would be. He didn’t know what kind of situation would make him think that it was difficult. The only thing that he could do was to keep diving deeper until he finally found a challenge.

Anton then realized he forgot one thing. He forgot to tie this current dungeon to a new character leveling up. Since he was also a little hungry, he decided to stop for lunch. He dispelled the summons and flew as fast as he could back to the entrance of the dungeon. When he arrived there, he set up camp and started eating lunch. While doing so, he created his ladder Amazon character and touched the wall at the dungeon’s entrance. He then tied up the character to the dungeon so that the monsters he killed inside would level up his Amazon character.

After he was done with his lunch, and after he completed setting up his ladder Amazon character, Anton flew as fast as he could to the last place he had reached. He then summoned two spirit wolves and one raven and started his journey again.
