My Favorite Game Followed Me!
Chapter 512
Anton tested his other spells on some of his Spirit Wolves. He learned that single-target spells didn’t affect his summons, but the results of area of effect spells did. The core of the area of effect spells didn’t actually hurt the summons, but just the effect, like the blast of the spells, or if an object was destroyed and the fragments of that object hit the summons, then they would be damaged.
He theorized that it was because his own spells couldn’t hurt him since it was his own mana, and his summons were essentially part of him. Anton then wondered why that was, since he thought that once a spell left his body, it basically wasn’t part of him anymore. He realized that he just was not learned enough to form any conclusion regarding this theory.
Anton also theorized that once he added a person to his party system, they would not be affected by his curses or his spells either, but that one needed to be tested. After all that testing, Anton felt some hunger pangs, and when he checked the time, it was noon already. He was a little surprised since he started early, and he had only been in a few battles, but then again, the battles that he went through on this floor lasted longer due to the increased difficulties in defeating the dungeon monsters.
He returned to the previous room where he could reselect a doorway, but stopped there to eat lunch and rest for a few minutes. After around 30 minutes, he summoned all of his Spirit Wolves and all of his Ravens, then moved forward by entering the doorway that he hadn’t selected before. The hallway behind the door was, as usual, filled with traps that his Spirit Wolves and his Ravens had triggered. Anton was just simply amazed at how lethal the traps were. He felt that the deadliness of the traps was beyond the level of this floor, and he imagined that plenty of adventurers had died because of them.
More than likely, that was also the reason why he had been receiving plenty of enchanted items from the chests that appeared after he defeated the monsters. Anton still felt a little icky about that because the items were from dead people and not something generated by the dungeon. The idea of benefiting from the deaths of adventurers gave him goosebumps. That was also probably the main reason why he had not been dealing with those items; instead, he was dumping them in his house, and he now thought that he had probably been putting his employees in danger.
The next room that had the two doors was made out of tiles, like those that you can find in a bathhouse. Anton randomly selected one of them and saw that it led to a massive bathhouse or washroom. It had a large swimming pool at the center, and the design of the washroom, if it was not dilapidated, would have impressed him.
Anton moved forward a little and saw that monsters appeared from the pool. The monsters looked terrifying. They were fishmen, and they were undead. He wondered what they were, and then he saw the monsters resembled sharks more, so that meant that they were probably Sahuagin instead of Murlocs, since Murlocs' base was frogs.
The monsters being sahuagin were terrifying enough due to their large stature, their shark-like teeth, long claws, and their trident weapons, but their being undead brought a level of horror that made Anton’s spine tingle.
According to netizens from Earth, a melee warrior like the Barbarian or the Paladin would be ultimately more powerful compared to magic casters but the fact that Anton didn’t have to get up close and personal to terrifying monsters like the ones that he was confronting right now brought home the fact that he would probably never change his style of fighting and would stick to being a spell caster.
There were ten undead sahuagin and one boss monster. The regular sahuagin was twice as large as Anton, so the boss fish monster was extremely huge. To be honest, Anton was really impressed at how terrifying the fish monsters looked, so he brought out his Globe of Browser sharing and started recording the visages of the monsters. He then realized that he should have been recording his fights so he could watch them again and review how he could do better the next time. He felt a little regret for not recording his past battles, but he shrugged and decided that he would record all his fights from then on.
Anton refreshed his defensive spells, including the Oak Sage summon, and then he summoned his five Spirit Wolves, five Dire Wolves, five Ravens, his Clay Golem, his Valkyrie, and his Shadow Master. He commanded his Valkyrie and his Shadow Master to focus on the boss sahuagin, and the rest of the summons would deal with the regular fish monsters.
He then cast his curses towards the monsters. Anton cast Amplify Damage, Weaken, Iron Maiden, Life Tap, Decrepify, and Lower Resist at all the fish monsters in succession. He planned to continue casting his curses at the monsters throughout the whole fight.
The sahuagins started running towards Anton and his summons, and he commanded his summons to meet the monsters. The fish monsters wielded their trident expertly, but Anton believed that if they just focused on using their claws and their sharp teeth, the monsters' attack would have been more effective.
Anton was that the boss sahuagin started casting water spells towards his Valkyrie and his Shadow Master. After he cast another curse at all of the monsters, he helped his two most powerful summons deal with the boss monster. He cast Lightning and Ice Blast towards the huge boss sahuagin and bombarded the area with Hydras while casting his curses at all of the monsters, including the boss. He saw that the Life Tap curse was enough to heal his summons, so he kept the Fanaticism Aura throughout the fight.
The boss monster was probably annoyed at the great damage that Anton’s spells were doing to it, so it shifted its attention to him. The boss sahuagin threw its trident towards Anton, and he simply avoided it using his Teleport skill.
Anton continued casting his single-target spells at the boss and continued casting curses at all of the monsters, and soon, the boss sahuagin died. He, the Valkyrie, and the Shadow Master then assisted the other summons in defeating the rest of the fish monsters, and soon all of them were vanquished.
He tagged all of the fish monsters using the dungeon key because, based on the guild book, there were body parts that he could harvest from the monsters that he could submit as quest items. After he harvested all of the body parts and the mana stones, he stored them in his inventory. He was confused why there was no chest, so he looked around.
Finally, he saw two chests beneath the swimming pool. Anton didn’t want to swim in the swimming pool where the undead monsters had been swimming before, so he commanded his Valkyrie and his Shadow Master to retrieve all of the items from the chest under the water. He imagined that if his Valkyrie and his Shadow Master were sentient, they would have been cursing him already.
When the two summons put all of the items from the chest on the ground in front of Anton, he dismissed the Valkyrie and the Shadow Master immediately, since he felt a little guilty for commanding them to do something horrid. He cleaned the items using his cleaning spell, then stored them in his inventory.
