My Favorite Game Followed Me!
Chapter 520
Anton queued with the other adventurers at the entrance of the Corridors of Amuneta Dungeon. The line was particularly long, so it was inevitable that the groups of adventurers would talk to each other while waiting. They were basically sharing their experiences on the floors, and Anton listened in on the conversations.
One of the younger ones in the group ahead of him noticed him.
“Hi, I’m Lucas. Are you queuing for your group? I hope they wouldn’t take too long since the line moves fairly fast.”
“I’m Anton, and no, I’m not queuing for a group. I will be diving alone.”
The young man, who couldn’t have been more than 30 years old, looked at Anton with unbelieving eyes.
“You’re diving alone! Is this your first time? This dungeon is very dangerous!”
“Lucas, what are you shouting about?” Scolded the oldest man in Lucas’s group.
“This very young mage said that he would be diving alone on the floors of the corridors!” Lucas told the man, who must have been the group’s leader since he looked powerful.
All of the members of Lucas’s group and the other groups nearby, for that matter, turned their eyes on Anton when they heard what Lucas had shouted.
“Young mage, don’t gamble your life away. Find a group so you’ll be safe. Your life is very important. If you can wait for us, I’ll test you and let you join our group,” The middle-aged man from Lucas’s group said.
Anton was a little touch because when he looked around, the men and women surrounding him looked at him with concern in their eyes. He was a little surprised that these powerful adventurers cared about someone whom they didn’t know. He knew that he looked young, and that may have contributed to their concern.
“You don’t need to worry about me, sir. I’ve already cleared the 30th and the 40th
floor of this dungeon alone. I’m now heading to the 50th floor, and I’m quite sure that I will be able to clear it without any issues. I’m an archmage and a very powerful combatant. I have extremely powerful defensive and healing spells as well as a movement spell, so even if I encounter something I can’t fight, I can easily escape.”
“You’ve cleared the 30th and the 40th floor! We’ve only been delving on the 10th floor, and it usually would take us four to five days!” Lucas shouted.
Anton saw that all the people around him who had heard what they said and what Lucas had shouted were gaping at him.
“How old are you?!” Lucas’s group leader asked.
Anton answered the man candidly since his age wasn’t a secret.
“I’m 18 years old.”
“You’re only 18 and you’re already tackling the 50th floor of this high-level dungeon! I’m sure that in a few years you’ll become an Invincible Wizard,” the middle-aged man said, and Anton just shrugged.
“Since you’ve been to the 30th and 40th
floor, can you tell me what you’ve encountered?” Lucas asked.
Since the line was long and it would probably take around 30 minutes before Anton reached the entrance, he started describing the settings and monsters that he encountered on the two floors that he had been on. He saw that the people surrounding him quieted down to listen in, and a lot of people started retrieving a note and a pen to write down what Anton was saying.
Anton didn’t hide anything because he knew that even if they would not encounter the dungeon settings that he encountered, some of the details in his fight with the monsters would be helpful to the adventurers.
He had maybe told everyone a quarter of his experiences with the two floors when Anton reached the dungeon entrance. Everyone who was listening in looked like they wanted to delay everyone from entering the dungeon just to listen to what he had been saying.
“Thank you for telling us so much. Can we ask for more details if we encounter you in the future?” Lucas asked, and Anton simply said, “Sure”.
They didn’t schedule anything since no one knew when everyone’s dungeon diving would be completed. Anton was a little gratified and proud to see the awe and respect that the adventurers had in their faces when looking at him. After that, Anton entered the dungeon portal.
The moment he entered the 50th floor of the dungeon, Anton immediately touched the wall so he to make sure that the experience points for killing the monsters on this floor would go to his ladder Amazon character. After that, he inspected the dungeon setting that the Corridors of Amuneta presented to him for this floor.
The temperature of the floor was hot and dry, and Anton saw that he was now in a desert corridor resembling a desert canyon. The sky was clear and the sun was so bright that Anton wished he had sunglasses. He knew that the sky and the sun were fake because he was inside the dungeon, but he was still extremely impressed at the power of the dungeons of this world to be able to mimic something like the desert sky.
Anton knew by experience that if he flew up above, he would reach some sort of invisible ceiling, so he didn’t make the attempt this time. Looking at the canyon surrounded by rocky walls and the ground that looked like it had been baked by the sun for millions of years, Anton could imagine the Earth’s Grand Canyon.
He summoned five Ravens to scout ahead and two Spirit Wolves to check for traps, then Anton started flying after his minions. After a few minutes, he was a little surprised that his two Spirit Wolves hadn’t encountered any traps.
While his two Spirit Wolves were inspecting the grounds to make sure that there were no traps, his five Ravens were flying ahead. Suddenly, a huge mouth appeared from underneath the wolves and swallowed the two summons whole.
The extremely huge monster was a giant worm with giant teeth that ringed its mouth. It was so huge that for a moment, Anton didn’t know how to fight the gigantic monster. At first, he thought of allowing himself to be eaten so he could cast his spells from inside the monster, but he didn’t know what he would encounter inside. There could be an ocean of acid and dead things, and he felt a little squeamish imagining it.
Anton couldn’t use his summons because they would only be eaten by the giant worm. Thankfully, the worm didn’t dive back into the ground and remained up, growling at him. He wondered how the monster knew he was up in the sky since he didn’t see any eyes.
He immediately cast all of his curses, and since the worm was so long, Anton had to fly from the head to its tail to cover the monster with his curses, then he cast the Druid’s Hurricane, Armageddon, and Volcano. Then he started casting Frozen Orb, Blizzard, Ice Comet, and Chain Lightning one after the other. He also started littering the place with a bunch of Hydras, who started casting their Firebolts at the huge monsters.
The huge monster attempted to lunge at Anton to capture him with its humongous mouth, but he simply teleported away and continued casting his spells. Once his curses lapsed, he would cast them at the monster again.
Suddenly, the titanic monster vomited a huge amount of liquid into the surrounding area, and the liquid came down like rain. Anton observed that the liquid was an extremely potent acid since everything that it touched began to decompose.
Anton simply teleported out of the range of the acid rain and continued casting his curses and his spells at the giant worm. The worm bellowed loudly and finally dove back to the ground until it was fully submerged.
