My Favorite Game Followed Me!
Chapter 632
Chapter 632
Luna and Alfred excitedly ran off with the tablets of summoning tiny spirit wolves and tiny ravens. Once the siblings were out of sight, Anton asked their old caretaker, Mr. Normandy, to make sure that Luna and Alfred were not going to be taken advantage of.
“You don’t need to worry too much. All of their friends are trustworthy. Besides, most of them were introduced by you,” the old man said with a smile, then Mr. Normandy followed his charges out.
After lunch, Anton did not waste time and returned to his room to continue leveling up his ladder Amazon character. When the sun had set, Mr. Jenkins called Anton, but he told the butler that he would not be joining the family with dinner. He told Raymond that he was in the middle of a breakthrough in his magic and should not be disturbed in the next few hours.
Anton was telling the truth. He was so focused that in just a few hours, he would reach the maximum level of his ladder Amazon character. At around 3:00 a.m., he finally reached level 99. He immediately transferred his second Stone of Jordan from the game to the real world. He briefly considered which item he should transfer next. He then felt the stats that were transferred from the character to his stats in real life, which were 20 percent of the primary stat of the Amazon character. He knew then that he had formally entered the ranks of Supreme Wizards.
If he was being honest, Anton still felt like a fraud since the only thing he was good at was killing things. Unlike other Supreme Wizards, who Anton thought were basically scientists since they accumulated enough knowledge to be considered as having doctorate degrees in his previous world.
After Anton’s body got used to the new strength brought by the newly transferred stat and item, he was thrilled when he saw the notification from his Diablo II system. The expected update had arrived.
He immediately read the notification. It stated that every ladder season, Anton could choose to assign a specific class from the world of Diablo II to another person, and that person would have access to a limited panel that would show their stats and their skill tree, but not the inventory or gear window.
The person who was assigned the class could level up his class through this world’s dungeons. Anton’s benefit was that 30 percent of the total power of the person who was assigned the class would be transferred to him and would update once the said person reached level 30, 60, and finally, level 99.
One huge advantage of Anton’s system was that it would not affect the other person’s actual class if he or she had one already. The class that he would assign from his Diablo II system would be the person’s second class and would not cause any conflict with other magic or physical class systems.
Anton could also retrieve the class from the other person whenever he wanted to, but the already transferred power would remain with him. At first, he was thrilled, thinking that he might have found a loophole that he could exploit for a quick power up, like assigning a class to a second person then retrieving it then assigning it again to another person but upon reading the notification further, it stated that he could only assign a class every ladder season one time even if he retrieve the class assignment from that person.
After reading the notification, Anton thought of the ramifications of the new update to his Diablo II system. Power-wise, it would not bring him immediate benefit since the power that he could get from the person to whom he would assign the class would be limited, since, first, leveling up just with these world dungeons would probably be slow. Second, the person with the assigned class would only have gears on his person, unlike Anton, who had the benefit of equipping items from his Diablo II system world, and the power of those gears was reflected in real life. Lastly, Anton could not assign the classes to anyone willy-nilly since it was the core of his secrets. That meant that there were only two people he could assign a class to. His father, Anders, and his sister, Anna.
All in all, even though the new update was limited, Anton still appreciated it greatly since it would bring power to his father and sister that would add to their ability to keep themselves safe.
He was extremely excited for his father to return home since he wanted to assign a class to Anders immediately. Since he was too excited to sleep, Anton busied himself in writing every class’s skill tree and the description of every skill on paper so that Anders could peruse them and choose the class that he would like. If it were his decision, he would prefer his father to choose the Paladin class since its skill would allow Anders to keep himself safe. The ability to heal himself and others was a massive advantage. Regarding Anna, Anton would prefer that his sister choose the Sorceress Class.
The sun was up when Anton was done writing everything down. He cast his Blizzard spell, turned into Mana Rain toward the garden and the orchard, which was his unspoken summons to the butler. As expected, after a few minutes, Mr. Jenkins arrived with breakfast.
“Is Father going to arrive today?” Anton asked while eating.
“Your father’s expected to arrive tomorrow,” The butler answered.
After the butler left, Anton created a new ladder character since he wanted to rush because he only had limited time before the ladder season would end. He spent the next few hours leveling up his newly created ladder Sorceress.
This time, though, he proceeded with his planned experiment of leveling up his characters using the on-screen option instead of entering the world of Sanctuary in virtual mode. He planned to follow the guide of veteran Diablo II gamers that they had posted on the most famous streaming video site on how to level up fast. By noon, he concluded that using the on-screen option, which was just like playing in front of a computer, was truly faster than the virtual mode. The downside was, everything truly felt like a game. He needed the experience of playing the game in virtual mode since his body would be able to gain the experience of mana coursing through his whole body whenever he used a skill. He needed that experience because it would allow his body to get used to the power of mana.
During lunch, Anton asked Raymond to bring his lunch to his room. He informed the butler to tell everyone curious that he was still busy with his magic. He was reflecting the difference in leveling up his character using the on-screen option versus virtual mode. Thankfully, no one disturbed him. He had expected Luna and Alfred to bother him a little, requesting the next episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender, but they did not do so. He thought that maybe Raymond had warned them or something, which he appreciated.
By evening, his new ladder Sorceress leveled up to level 50, which was unprecedentedly fast. He would continue doing the on-screen option, but once he was done with the Sorceress, he would go back to using virtual mode. The advantage of getting used to how he casts his skills using his body outweighs the speed of leveling up his characters, in his opinion.
