CHAPTER 56: CHAPTER 8: DRAGON SCALE

The three of Master Zhao’s family didn’t have time to thank Mu Chen, they hurriedly crowded around the bed. By now, the wounds on Zhao Yunchi’s body had already scabbed over, and his breathing was noticeably much steadier than before. Master Zhao managed to keep calm, but his hands trembled slightly. Zhuo Shiyu and Mrs. Zhao were both overwhelmed with joy, bursting into tears.

"Master, is Yunchi better?" Mrs. Zhao turned her head, asking Master Zhao incredulously.

Master Zhao nodded, "He’s better, much better."

"That’s wonderful, my Yunchi!" Unable to hold back any longer, Mrs. Zhao fell onto Zhao Yunchi, carefully avoiding his wounds, and cried out loud.

Zhuo Shiyu’s emotions weren’t much better than Mrs. Zhao’s, her face was also streaked with tears.

Master Zhao also wiped his tears, glancing at Zhuo Tingqiu and Mu Chen, only then recalling that Mu Chen had saved Zhao Yunchi. He quickly turned around and bowed deeply to Mu Chen.

"What is Master Zhao doing?" Zhuo Tingqiu stepped forward to help Master Zhao up.

"Thank you, Mr. Mu, for saving my son. Such great kindness will always be remembered by the Zhao Family. If there’s anything Mr. Mu needs from the Zhao Family, we are at your service!" Master Zhao looked at Mu Chen with a very earnest expression.

"No need for that, Master Zhao. I was merely entrusted by others," Mu Chen waved his hand indifferently.

If it weren’t for Zhuo Tingqiu’s request and Gu Qingqing’s agreement, he wouldn’t have intervened at all; after all, Zhao Yunchi had nothing to do with him.

"Thank you, Young Master Zhuo." Master Zhao also knew Mu Chen was Zhuo Tingqiu’s friend, and he only came because of Zhuo Tingqiu, so he quickly thanked Zhuo Tingqiu.

"Master Zhao, you’re being too kind. If thanks are due, thank Shiyu. This girl was too worried about Young Master Zhao." Zhuo Tingqiu pointed slightly toward Zhuo Shiyu with his chin, speaking with a hint of helplessness.

Master Zhao looked at Zhuo Shiyu in surprise; he didn’t expect that Zhuo Tingqiu and Mu Chen had returned because of Zhuo Shiyu. He realized that Zhuo Shiyu’s position in the Zhuo Family was higher than he imagined, seeing that Zhuo Shiyu was still taking care of Zhao Yunchi, he turned to Zhuo Tingqiu.

"Please, Young Master Zhuo and Mr. Mu, stay a few more days in our residence so we can properly entertain you." As he spoke, Master Zhao called for the servants, "Someone, prepare Yunhe Garden for our distinguished guests to stay in, and also instruct that everyone in the residence will receive a month’s extra pay."

Zhuo Tingqiu was unable to stop him, glanced at Mu Chen, thinking he still needed Zhuo Shiyu to return to Wentian Palace, so he agreed.

Gu Qingqing and the others stayed at the Zhao residence, and the Zhao Family treated them very courteously.

Zhao Yunchi woke up that night, and Mrs. Zhao cried once more. The next day, when Zhuo Tingqiu and Mu Chen went to see Zhao Yunchi, the color on his face was more flushed than before, and he was able to sit up.

"Thank you, Young Master Zhuo and Mr. Mu, for saving my life," Zhao Yunchi was very courteous when he woke up, and his mother and Zhuo Shiyu had already informed him of what happened. Upon seeing Zhuo Tingqiu and Mu Chen, Zhao Yunchi insisted on giving a bow despite being in bed.

"Just thank Shiyu. This girl was really worried about you." Zhuo Tingqiu glanced at Zhuo Shiyu sitting by the bed, cutting an apple for Zhao Yunchi, speaking with a teasing tone.

Zhuo Shiyu blushed from Zhuo Tingqiu’s words, burying her head in her chest, not daring to look at anyone.

Zhao Yunchi’s gaze was extremely gentle when he looked at Zhuo Shiyu, "I will surely keep Shiyu’s sentiments in my heart."

Upon hearing this, Zhuo Shiyu looked up at Zhao Yunchi, and when their eyes met, it seemed like pink bubbles filled the air.

Watching their loving exchange, Zhuo Tingqiu felt a pang in his teeth and couldn’t help but cough.

The two immediately shifted their gaze, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Mu Chen acted as if he hadn’t noticed the atmosphere, stepping forward to check Zhao Yunchi’s wound.

"Everything looks good, you’re all healed. You can get out of bed by tomorrow," Mu Chen said, straightening up.

"Thank you, Mr. Mu," Zhao Yunchi looked at Mu Chen with admiration and gratitude. He thought for a moment, then took out a box from his Storage Bracelet and held it with both hands, "This is an item I found in a dangerous place, seemingly a scale from a very powerful demon beast. I’ve heard that items like this are sometimes needed in alchemy, and I hope Mr. Mu will accept it."

Mu Chen raised an eyebrow, took the box from Zhao Yunchi’s hands, and upon opening it, found a scale the size of a palm. His pupils slightly contracted, then he closed the box and put it away.

"This item can be considered as repayment for your life-saving grace." He thought for a moment, feeling that perhaps he was taking advantage of Zhao Yunchi. With a flip of his wrist, a Jade Bottle appeared in his hand, "Inside this bottle is a Spirit Ascension Pill, which can help you advance from fourth level to fifth level without any side effects."

Saying this, under Zhao Yunchi’s astonished gaze, he placed the Jade Bottle in Zhao Yunchi’s open hand and turned to leave.

Zhuo Tingqiu, hardly ever seeing Mu Chen react this way, gave Zhuo Shiyu a glance and followed Mu Chen out.

At Yunhe Garden at the moment, Gu Qingqing was practicing calligraphy, Si Lin was practicing swordsmanship, Yue Zhao was playing the guqin, Rong Ye and Nan Hua were sitting idly nearby, while Yun Ran was appreciating Gu Qingqing’s calligraphy. Seeing Mu Chen hurriedly walk in, everyone was somewhat curious.

"Little Fourth, why are you in such a hurry?" Nan Hua stood up, put away the fan in his hand, and looked at Mu Chen, asking with a slight smile.

"You all come inside, I’ll explain everything to you," Mu Chen looked at everyone in the courtyard and then walked toward the house first.

The others paused their activities, exchanged glances, and, along with Zhuo Tingqiu who hurried over, entered the house, closing the door behind them.

"Third Brother, can you set up a barrier?" Mu Chen felt that merely closing the door wasn’t secure enough and looked at Nan Hua.

"Is it really necessary to go this far?" Nan Hua asked as he threw out an Array Plate, enveloping Yunhe Garden to ensure no one could intrude.

Once assured everything was secure, Mu Chen retrieved the box that Zhao Yunchi had given him from the Qiankun Ring and opened it.

Upon seeing the palm-sized scale inside, everyone paused in surprise.

"Is this...a Dragon Scale?" Si Lin reached out, taking the scale from the box, examining it closely as he spoke in uncertainty.

"What? A Dragon Scale? No way!" Rong Ye looked at the scale in Si Lin’s hand in disbelief.

Yue Zhao and Nan Hua both leaned in, inspecting the scale seriously. They exchanged a glance and nodded simultaneously.

"That’s right, it’s indeed a Dragon Scale. I can sense the presence of a Dragon on it," Yue Zhao confirmed.

Upon hearing this, Rong Ye, Gu Qingqing, Yun Ran, and Zhuo Tingqiu all looked at the scale held by Si Lin in astonishment.

"Is it possible that Dragons still exist on Xuantian Continent?" Rong Ye said, looking dreamy.
