CHAPTER 742: CHAPTER 666: LIKING YOU FROM THE FIRST SIGHT 7_3

She always felt that trying to make amends was somewhat contrived. You can only take it slowly and let the young girl cheer up a bit, "What would you like to eat?"

"Ah?" Jian Dan looked over confusedly, seeing Bo Qin’s distinct and handsome profile. Startled, he then averted his gaze, his fingers tightening as he suppressed the nervousness at the bottom of his heart, "I’m fine with anything, Uncle Qin. What would you like to eat?"

"Is there anything good to eat near your school?"

"Yes, but I’m worried you might not like the environment there," Jian Dan said cautiously. It was a small shop with great flavors but very narrow, located down a small alley. Bo Qin always dined in grandeur, and she was worried he would not find it acceptable.

It wasn’t that he despised the environment or looked down upon anyone, but the environment in which he grew up shaped his standards.

Bo Qin chuckled, "Jianjian, when you talk to me, you don’t have to be so formal. Are you worried that Uncle Qin will scold you or something? Don’t worry, I won’t."

"No, it’s just that I’m worried you might not like it."

Bo Qin smiled, "Lead the way; let’s go to the place you mentioned. What do they mainly serve?"

"Claypot rice."

Bo Qin looked puzzled; he had never tried it before. Seeing Bo Qin so animated, Jian Dan laughed, "Uncle Qin, you haven’t eaten it before, have you?"

"Indeed not."

Following Jian Dan’s directions, they quickly arrived at the destination, found a nearby parking lot to park the car, and Jian Dan led him through several small alleys, drawing quite a crowd before they finally made it to the small shop she had mentioned. Despite its small size, the shop was immaculate, with several tables and chairs under a large tree, yet it was full of people.

"Boss, two portions of the mixed claypot rice," Jian Dan ordered with ease, and the proprietress greeted her with a warm smile, "Young girl, you’re here again?"

"Yes, boss, two mixed portions."

"Alright, find yourselves seats, and I’ll bring it over in a bit."

"Okay."

Jian Dan pulled on Bo Qin’s sleeve, looking for a spot. Just as a couple got up, leaving their seats, they quickly sat down. Amid the bustling crowd, Jian Dan was in a hurry to claim the seats and didn’t notice she was abruptly bumped into, which caused her shoulder to hurt and made her fall backwards.

Bo Qin stood behind her, quickly catching her and securely wrapping her in his arms.

In her panic, Jian Dan found herself in a secure embrace, familiar in scent, and her heart uncontrollably pounded.

Her cheeks slightly reddened, her ears pressed against Bo Qin’s chest, and she did not want to leave his arms just yet.

After the crowd had passed, Bo Qin felt it was somewhat inappropriate for them to be so intimate; he pinched Jian Dan’s shoulder, helping her up, and scanned her, "Are you alright? Did you get hurt?"

Jian Dan, somewhat disheartened, shook her head quickly and, head hanging, said, "No, let’s go sit over there, Uncle Qin."

She pulled Bo Qin over. Bo Qin sensed her mood was off but didn’t know how to ask. Even if he asked, she might not respond. He wasn’t good at figuring out a girl’s thoughts, which annoyed him a bit.

The proprietress was quick. In less than twenty minutes, she brought over two portions of the mixed claypot rice. Upon seeing Bo Qin sitting beside Jian Dan, her smile turned teasing, "Young girl, you said you had no boyfriend. Isn’t this one you’ve brought along?"

Jian Dan hastily waved her hands, "No, no, boss lady, he’s my uncle, not my boyfriend. Please don’t misunderstand."

Fearing Bo Qin might be upset, Jian Dan quickly clarified. The proprietress, apologetically smiling, said, "Sorry about that."

"It’s okay." Jian Dan beamed, and after the proprietress left, she turned to Bo Qin, "Uncle Qin, their mixed claypot rice is really good; give it a try. And about earlier, the boss lady wasn’t aware, so please don’t be upset."

"Jianjian, do you think I’m someone who gets angry easily?"

"No, I’m just worried you might get upset."

Bo Qin: "..."

While Bo Qin was not used to dining in such settings, he didn’t want to spoil Jian Dan’s mood. Looking at the appealing claypot rice, he found it not so difficult to swallow and noticing Jian Dan eating with contentment, he couldn’t help but smile and started eating.

Having never tried it before, it was a novelty that turned out to be quite delicious, "How did you find this place?"

It was surprising that a young girl who didn’t seem the type to scour streets and alleys for good food could discover such a gem.
