My Fortune-Blessed Leading Lady
Chapter 767 - 675: Liking You, From the First Glance 16
CHAPTER 767: CHAPTER 675: LIKING YOU, FROM THE FIRST GLANCE 16
She said, looking sternly at her younger brother, Hai En. Though he was reckless and unruly, he was quite afraid of his older sister. He looked at Jian Dan and sincerely apologized, "Sorry, for the frivolous behavior before, I apologize if it upset you."
Jian Dan snorted, showing no intention of forgiving him, and continued to bury her head in her food.
Hai Ling felt a flash of displeasure inside, thinking that this girl was spoiled and arrogant. He didn’t show it on his face, but scolded his brother instead, "How many times have I told you not to act like a hoodlum at every turn? Have all these years taught you nothing?"
"Yes, sister, I was wrong," he admitted.
Hai En thought Jian Dan was being dramatic and putting on an act. Such a joke wouldn’t bother even a primary school student, yet she was making a big deal out of it.
The look in his eyes, a flicker of frivolity, went unnoticed by others, but Bo Qin saw it clearly. He had met all kinds of people; sincere apologies or false ones, he could easily tell the difference.
He chuckled, "President Hai, there’s no need to scold your brother. If the apology isn’t heartfelt, then let it be. No apology needed. After all, we don’t mind."
After finishing speaking, his expression darkened slightly as he placed a piece of cake on Jian Dan’s plate, "Are you finished?"
Jian Dan also felt queasy, nodded, and said, "I’m full, Uncle Qin, let’s go home."
"Okay, good."
Watching the two of them get up to leave, Hai Ling felt a tightening in his chest, "President Bo, my brother didn’t mean it. If we have offended your young lady in any way, we apologize. I apologize on behalf of my brother."
Haicheng Group was indeed influential in Haicheng, but to expand beyond, they needed to leverage external powers and strategize. Bo Qin was the best choice; Bo’s businesses were extensive and had great prospects. Companies that could cooperate with Bo’s were not ordinary enterprises.
Even playing a role in bridging connections was absolutely significant.
Before formally meeting Bo Qin, Hai Ling had thought that if he could take Haicheng outside, even sleeping with someone would be an option.
However, Bo Qin wasn’t interested in such implications. Business was business, with no hidden agendas, and the offers he gave were relatively fair. Such people were too rare in their circles.
Even having only interacted for one day, Hai Ling had a particularly good impression of Bo Qin, even some feelings of admiration.
Proposing an afternoon tea was a selfish act, yet it turned out to be the biggest mistake in this cooperation. Had she known, she wouldn’t have brought her brother along.
The little girl by Bo Qin’s side was just too delicate.
Hai Ling felt displeased but said nothing more, standing up ready to ask them to stay, "President Bo, the dessert hasn’t been served yet, and the young lady seemed to like these things. Why not wait a little longer?"
Bo Qin instinctively looked at Jian Dan for her opinion. Jian Dan was not a capricious child—she had just seen the siblings’ disdain for her. She might not have real skills or knowledge, but she absolutely had the right to be by Bo Qin’s side.
No one was more entitled than her.
Not wanting to make Bo Qin uncomfortable, Jian Dan forced a smile, "Then let’s eat a little more."
In reality, she didn’t want to eat anything or do anything; she just wanted to lean against the seat on the airplane and rest her eyes.
"If you don’t want to eat, don’t force yourself. We’re leaving," Bo Qin said to Hai Ling with an indifferent tone, "Sorry, she hasn’t been feeling well. Enjoy your meal."
Saying this, he took the young lady and left.
It wasn’t until the two of them had disappeared that Hai En, standing beside her, began to question his sister with a doubtful look, for he had never seen Hai Ling so out of sorts. From the moment the two left till now, her eyes hadn’t moved from their retreating figures.
"Sister?"
Hai Ling came back to her senses, glared at him, and reached out to grab his ear, "When you came back to the country, didn’t I tell you not to offend anyone? Everyone here is either rich or noble. Don’t take the ways you tease little girls and try them on others. Do you want to drive me crazy?
And you just had to provoke the young lady of the Bo family. Have you grown some nerve?"
Hai En was startled by the scolding and didn’t mind the pain in his ear, asking tentatively, "Sis, could it be, you’ve taken a liking to Bo Qin?"
Hai Ling’s face flushed, and she turned her head away, releasing his ear.
"It’s none of your business."
Hai En became interested. If Bo Qin became his brother-in-law, though the man was a bit stern and rigid, he was well-off. It wasn’t a bad match. His sister was beautiful, and few wouldn’t like her, right?
Thinking this, he grinned and leaned in, "Sis, isn’t this an opportunity? If you come back to the capital with me tonight, won’t you be able to meet him?"
