CHAPTER 42: CHAPTER 42 "PROPERTY DEALER (2)"

Morgan’s confidence flickered back, though not by much.

He desperately hoped Ray would be a genuine customer, or he will have to face another round of mockery from his colleagues.

Ray, on the other hand, calmly followed Morgan to the dummy models of the properties under Sunny Properties.

"Sir, I’ll only show you the best we have," Morgan began, his voice a little hesitant. "They all start from three hundred thousand and go up to three to four million at most."

He then gestured to a display. "First, we have a charming little two-bedroom house in the Meadowbrook area, priced at $340,000. It’s perfect for a small family."

"Next to it, there’s a slightly larger three-bedroom home in the Willow Creek subdivision for $450,000, with a nice backyard."

"Then, we have this modern townhouse in the city’s outskirts, offering four bedrooms for $620,000."

"If you’re looking for something with more land, there’s a lovely property with a sprawling garden in Green Valley for $780,000. And finally, a newly renovated four-bedroom house near the main market area, at $900,000."

Ray nodded thoughtfully. "Show higher than this."

Morgan’s eyes widened in shock. "Sure, sir!" he managed, still unsure if Ray was genuinely looking for a property or just wasting his time.

Nevertheless, he led Ray to another model display.

Here, he presented three more properties, ranging from one million to three and a half million.

"First, sir, we have this exquisite penthouse on the 100th floor of the Highrise Towers," Morgan began, his voice was professional as he explains the details.

"It’s one of the most luxurious properties in the city, offering unparalleled views and amenities. This one is priced at one million seventy-two thousand."

He then pointed to two independent properties. "Next, we have a magnificent independent villa on Public Street, where many government officials reside. This is our most premium offering at three and a half million."

"And finally, another independent site, a sprawling estate located a bit further out, perfect for privacy and space, for two million four hundred fifty thousand."

As Morgan explained the details, the other two dealers continued their mocking from their desks, their snickers filling the background.

"You guys have very free time. Seems you own this place." Ray’s voice was calm, but there was an underlying meaning that made them uncomfortable.

He hadn’t even bothered to respond to their taunts, instead opting for a question that felt entirely out of place to them.

The two men exchanged glances, their snickering momentarily silenced by Ray’s blunt question.

One of them, a man with a perpetually sneering expression, finally spoke. "What? Are you done looking at the properties?"

His tone was laced with sarcasm, avoiding a direct answer to Ray’s question.

Ray, however, wasn’t deterred. He turned his gaze to Morgan, ignoring the sneering man entirely. "Who is the owner here?"

Morgan, surprised by the abrupt shift in conversation, quickly answered, "The owner isn’t here, sir. She’s at the municipal office with some others for some urgent work."

Ray nodded, making a mental note of it. Then, his attention returned to the property models. "Out of all these, I’m interested in the penthouse and this independent estate with privacy and space."

Morgan’s jaw almost dropped. "You want to see those two properties?" he stammered, thinking he must have misheard.

Ray simply nodded. "Yes, if you want to show them, or should I look for some other place?"

Morgan snapped out of his shock, a surge of adrenaline pushing him into action. He began gathering papers. "Let’s go, sir! I’ll take you to the properties."

As they moved towards the door, one of the other dealers, still skeptical, muttered, "What if, he’s a genuine buyer."

But the sneering man simply laughed. "Worry not, that fool will be back empty-handed soon."

He then pulled out his phone, a sly grin spreading across his face.

"Look, I got this from the manager of Dunken Properties. He’s asked us to convince the owner to sell the Sunny Properties to the Dunkens. If we succeed in that, we’ll get 10% of the sale, more than what we get from selling these properties."

The other man’s mouth fell open in shock. "Are you serious!" he questioned, his voice a disbelieving whisper.

He then added, "The owner is at the municipal office with other property owners for Dunken’s bullying and unconventionally capturing the market, and here you are trying to sell this place?"

"Are you out of your mind?"

The man with the phone merely laughed, "What are you worrying about? Don’t you know how the Dunkens captured the whole area of Mall Street? They have many backers, and soon, they’ll also capture the estate market, so isn’t it better to be with them beforehand?"

The other man pondered this, his thoughts unknown as Ray and Morgan left the municipal building in Morgan’s Honda civic.

Morgan, with a newfound confidence, first took Ray to the Highrise Towers.

The ride up the elevator to the 100th floor was swift and silent, the numbers climbing rapidly. As the doors open, Ray stepped out into a private lobby, a stark contrast to the bustling street below.

"Welcome to the pinnacle of luxury, sir," Morgan announced, gesturing grandly. "This is it. The Highrise Penthouse."

The main door swung open to reveal an expansive living area bathed in natural light from floor-to-ceiling windows.

The panoramic view stretched out beneath them, a breathtaking distant hills, and river flowing was a very rich view for those living in that floor.

"As you can see, the views are unparalleled," Morgan explained, his voice echoing slightly in the vast space.

"From here, you can literally see the entire city. The layout is completely open-concept, designed for a seamless flow between living, dining, and entertaining spaces."

He led Ray through the sleek, modern kitchen, equipped with top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances and a massive island.

"The kitchen features custom cabinetry and imported marble countertops. Every detail has been meticulously chosen for both aesthetics and functionality."

Next, they moved to one of the four bedrooms. "Each bedroom comes with its own en-suite bathroom," Morgan stated, opening a door to reveal a spa-like retreat with a large soaking tub and a rainfall shower.

"The master suite, which is just down this hall," he pointed, "has its own private balcony and a walk-in wardrobe that’s practically another room."

"The building itself offers exclusive amenities," Morgan continued, pointing towards the vast expanse of glass.

"There’s a private gym, an infinity pool on a lower floor, a dedicated concierge service 24/7, and even private security patrols. It’s not just a home, sir; it’s a lifestyle. This penthouse offers the utmost in privacy, security, and prestige."

Ray walked around, taking it all in, his expression calm. He approached the large windows, gazing out at the busy world below.
