My Goblin System : Levelling up with my SSS Class Devouring skill
Chapter 111
CHAPTER 111: CHAPTER 111
Floor Fifty was the final checkpoint before the truly impossible floors.
The chamber was enormous, easily a quarter-mile across. And standing at the far end was a single creature.
It looked like a dragon, but wrong. Its scales were crystalline, refracting light into impossible colors. Its eyes held ancient, malevolent intelligence. Steam rose from its nostrils, and when it breathed, reality itself seemed to shimmer.
[Nightmare Dragon - Level 40]
[Checkpoint Boss - Defeat to Continue]
Level 40. Satou was level 30. This was the largest level gap he’d faced since entering the dungeon.
The Dragon spoke, its voice echoing in Satou’s mind rather than his ears.
"You have impressed the dungeon, little morsel. Most die long before reaching me. But your journey ends here. I am the wall that cannot be climbed. The enemy that cannot be defeated. I am your limit made manifest."
The Dragon’s maw opened, and reality-warping fire erupted forth.
Satou barely managed to raise an earth wall in time. The flames struck the stone and simply erased it, deleting matter from existence. The heat that made it past his defense was enough to burn away the front of his clothes and sear his skin.
Oh no. Oh no no no.
The Dragon took flight, its massive wings stirring up hurricane-force winds. It circled above, and Satou realized with sinking dread that this was going to be nearly impossible.
Everything he’d learned, every ability he’d gained, every skill he’d developed,he’d need all of it and more.
The Dragon descended like a falling star, its claws extended. Each talon was the size of Satou’s entire body.
Satou activated Shadow Step, disappearing just as the claws gouged trenches through the stone where he’d been standing. He reappeared thirty feet away, already channeling Earth Manipulation to create cover.
The Dragon’s tail whipped around faster than Satou could track. It caught him mid-dodge, sending him flying across the chamber. He crashed into the wall hard enough to crack stone, felt ribs snap like dry twigs.
[HP: 847/4500]
His Regeneration kicked in immediately, the broken bones starting to knit together. But it was slow, too slow.
The Dragon breathed again. Not fire this time, but a beam of pure energy that simply deleted anything it touched. Satou rolled desperately, the beam passing close enough that he felt parts of his body trying to cease existing. His left arm below the elbow simply stopped being there, erased from reality.
Satou screamed in pains.
[HP: 623/4500]
[Severe Injury: Left Forearm Destroyed]
His Regeneration went into overdrive. He could feel it burning through his stamina like wildfire, desperately trying to regrow an entire limb from nothing. The stump of his arm bubbled and writhed, new tissue forming at an agonizing pace.
Too slow. It’s regenerating but not fast enough!
The Dragon landed in front of him, its mouth curving into what might have been a smile. "Impressive that you still live. Most die to that first breath. But you cannot regenerate faster than I can destroy you, little morsel."
Its claw came down.
Satou activated Phase Step, his body flickering intangible. The claw passed through him—but maintaining the phase burned through what little stamina he had left. He couldn’t hold it for more than a second.
He reappeared behind the Dragon and activated Berserker Rage and Blood Frenzy simultaneously. Pain flooded his system with adrenaline, his wounded state making him faster, stronger, more dangerous. His half-regenerated arm was useless, but he had one hand and a sword and absolute desperation.
He struck at the Dragon’s hind leg, his blade enhanced with Fire Manipulation. The sword bit into crystalline scales and Shattered.
His mithril-steel sword, which had survived thirty floors, broke against the Dragon’s hide.
"You cannot harm me, little morsel."
The Dragon’s tail caught him again, this time spiking him into the ground like a volleyball. Satou felt his spine crack. His legs stopped responding.
[HP: 412/4500]
[Critical Injury: Spinal Damage]
[Paralysis: Lower Body]
His Regeneration was screaming now, working at triple speed to repair his spine. He could feel the vertebrae fusing back together, nerve connections re-establishing. The process was agony beyond anything he’d ever experienced.
I’m going to die. This thing is going to kill me.
The Dragon’s foot came down on his chest, pinning him to the ground. Ribs that had just finished healing broke again. His lungs collapsed.
"You have done well to reach this point. But this is where your story ends. You are simply not strong enough."
No.
Satou activated Devouring—not at the Dragon, that would never work—but at the floor itself. His shadow exploded outward, consuming the stone, the earth, the very foundation of the chamber. He devoured matter indiscriminately, converting it directly into energy to fuel his regeneration.
[Stone Floor Devoured]
[Earth Essence Absorbed]
[Regeneration Boosted - Emergency Mode]
His body began repairing faster. His spine finished healing. His left arm regenerated completely in seconds. His collapsed lungs reinflated with a painful gasp.
But it was draining him in other ways. His mind felt fuzzy. His vision blurred. Converting matter to healing energy was expensive.
The Dragon lifted its foot to crush him completely—
Satou rolled, came up on his knees, and thrust his hand into the ground. Earth Manipulation at maximum output, pulling up a massive spike of stone that erupted beneath the Dragon’s chest.
The spike was ten feet thick and rose thirty feet into the air, impaling the Dragon through its chest cavity.
The creature roared, genuine pain in its voice for the first time. "IMPOSSIBLE! YOU DARE—"
It thrashed, its wings beating furiously. The spike cracked but held. Black blood rained down, hissing where it hit the floor, eating through stone like acid.
A drop landed on Satou’s shoulder. His Stone Skin provided no protection. The acid burned through flesh in seconds, down to bone.
[HP: 567/4500]
[Acid Damage: Ongoing]
His Regeneration fought the acid, creating new flesh as fast as it burned away. The two forces reached equilibrium—constant damage, constant healing, locked in a painful stalemate.
Satou forced himself to his feet. His sword was broken. His healing potions were across the room in his dropped pack. The Dragon was impaled but very much alive and absolutely furious.
I need a weapon. Something that can actually hurt it.
He looked at his own hand, at the shadow extending from it. His Devouring ability had consumed matter before. Could it consume the Dragon itself?
Only one way to find out.
Satou ran forward, ignoring the acid blood raining down, ignoring the Dragon’s thrashing tail that nearly killed him twice. He leaped, using Limited Flight to get just high enough to grab onto the earth spike.
He climbed. Each handhold was slippery with blood. The acid burned his palms down to bone. His Regeneration was working so hard he could feel his body temperature spiking dangerously.
[Warning: Regeneration Overdrive - Consuming 15% Stamina per second]
[Stamina: 45%... 30%... 15%...]
He reached the top of the spike where it pierced through the Dragon’s chest. The creature’s massive head swung toward him, jaws opening for a point-blank reality-erasing breath.
Satou thrust his hand directly into the wound and activated Devouring at maximum power.
His shadow exploded into the Dragon’s body like a dark infection. The creature’s roar of pain was deafening, shaking the entire chamber. It thrashed violently, trying to shake him off.
Satou held on with his other hand, fingers digging into crystalline scales while his shadow consumed the Dragon from the inside out.
The process was agonizing for both of them. The Dragon’s essence was fighting back, its reality-warping power trying to erase Satou’s shadow. Meanwhile, devouring something this powerful while it was still alive felt like swallowing molten glass.
[Warning: Devouring Living Target - Level 40]
[Extreme Risk of Corruption]
[Mental Degradation Possible]
[Continue? Y/N]
"YES!" Satou screamed.
The Dragon’s thrashing became more frantic. Its wings beat desperately. It tried to use its reality-erasing breath on its own chest to kill Satou, but he was too close—it would have to erase itself too.
Then the Dragon did something unexpected. It began to glow.
"If I cannot kill you—I will take you with me into oblivion!"
The crystalline scales started to crack, light pouring from the fissures. The Dragon was self-destructing, converting its entire body into a massive explosion of reality-warping energy.
No time!
Satou’s Devouring went from maximum power to something beyond, drawing on reserves he didn’t know he had. His shadow turned from dark gray to absolute black, a void that consumed not just matter but existence itself.
The Dragon dissolved. Not slowly, but in a rush, its entire massive body flowing into Satou’s shadow like water down a drain. Flesh, bone, blood, scales, the very essence of what made it a Dragon—all of it consumed in ten seconds of absolute agony.
Satou felt his mind fracturing. Too much power. Too much essence. Too much everything trying to integrate into a body far too small to contain it.
His Regeneration kicked into emergency overdrive, not healing wounds but restructuring his entire body to accommodate the massive influx of power. His bones reformed, denser and stronger. His muscles tore apart and regrew, more efficient. His internal organs shifted, optimized, enhanced beyond natural limits.
[HP: 127/4500]
[Stamina: 3%]
[Mental Coherence: 34%]
[Regeneration: CRITICAL OVERDRIVE]
Then everything went white.
When Satou woke, he was lying in a pool of his own blood and worse things. His body was still smoking, steam rising from skin that had burned and regenerated dozens of times in minutes.

[Warning: Body undergoing fundamental transformation]
[Dragon essence integrating with goblinoid biology]
[Mutation in progress...]
Satou looked at his hands. They were trembling, and his skin had a faint iridescent sheen to it now, like scales just under the surface. His nails had hardened into claw-like points.
His Regeneration was still running at extreme levels, making constant micro-adjustments to his body. He could feel himself changing, evolving into something that was neither quite goblin nor quite dragon.
The rest chamber appeared, and Satou crawled toward it then all of a sudden he immediately passed out, his Regeneration still working overtime to stabilize his mutating body.
Satou woke after sixteen hours of unconsciousness. His body felt wrong—powerful, but wrong. His skin had the iridescent quality of dragon scales. His teeth were sharper. His eyes, he noticed in his reflection in a puddle of water, had slit pupils now.
[Transformation Complete]
[Race Changed: Hobgoblin → Dragoblin ]
[All Physical Stats Significantly Enhanced]
[Fire Immunity Acquired]
[Draconic Presence (Passive) Acquired - Inspire fear in lesser creatures]
He was no longer purely goblin. The Dragon’s essence had fundamentally altered him.
During his seventy-two hour rest period, Satou tested his new abilities. His Dragonfire Manipulation could create flames hot enough to melt stone. His True Flight let him actually fly, not just glide. His Regeneration was now so powerful that he could regrow lost limbs in minutes instead of hours.
But it came at a cost. His Regeneration was constantly active now, burning through stamina even at rest. He had to eat more, sleep more, to fuel the continuous regeneration process.
When his rest period ended, he descended to Floor Fifty-One.
Floor Fifty-One was an ocean of lava.
Platforms of cooled stone floated on the molten surface. And erupting from the lava were Fire Elementals the size of houses.
[Magma Titan - Level 42] x7
Satou’s Fire Immunity meant their flames couldn’t hurt him. But their physical strength absolutely could. A Magma Titan’s fist shattered the platform he was standing on, dropping him into the lava.
Even with immunity to fire, the sheer force of the lava was crushing. Satou had to use True Flight to escape, wings of energy forming on his back,a side effect of his draconic transformation.
