CHAPTER 90: [CHAPTER - 81] - THREE WISHES, ONE TRAP

Chapter - 81

After getting ready for his dinner date with Lilith, Lucius knocked on Iris’s door. He waited for a moment, but there was no answer.

So he knocked again, but there was still nothing.

"I am coming in. Don’t blame me if I catch you doing something inappropriate," Lucius warned in advance. Still, he was hoping to catch Iris in action.

But when he peeked inside, the room was empty. The bed was perfectly made, and not a soul was in sight.

"She’s not here?" Lucius muttered.

He stepped back and, closing the door gently, went on to search for her in her study, in the other rooms and even in the garden, but there was no sign of her.

Finally, he decided to get some help. He stopped one servant.

"Excuse me," Lucius asked casually, "Have you seen Iris?"

The maid bowed politely, "Young miss has already left, sir. She went out with Master Dorne to the charity event about half an hour ago."

Lucius paused momentarily, then gave a soft smile, though his eyes looked a little tired. Looks like they weren’t meant to meet one last time.

"I see," he said, reaching into his pocket. He pulled out the car keys and handed it to the maid.

"When she comes back tonight, please give her this. Tell her it’s a small gift from me. And also tell her..." He paused, then nodded, "Tell her thank you. For saving me, and for everything she did for me."

The maid looked confused, but she took the key with both hands and nodded in response, "Yes, sir."

Lucius then turned and walked out of the mansion.

And just as he walked out, the young maid assigned to tend to Lucius picked up her phone in panic.

"This troublesome guy can’t stay at home for one night," she murmured to herself while the phone rang on the other side.

But soon the urgency on her face turned into helplessness.

"She’s not answering..."

The taxi soon dropped Lucius at City Square. He checked the time on his phone. 9:05 PM.

"Right on time," he smiled.

The City Square was packed with people all around him like a flock of sheep.

Young couples walking hand in hand, while single girls in tight mini skirts were looking for potential guys to wake up in bed with tomorrow.

Boys with guitars performed under lamp posts while dancers drew crowds in the middle of the square.

The air was filled with love, lust, music, and loud noises. It was colourful and alive.

But Lucius was here to meet that big-breasted, silver-haired girl. She had said to meet her at the square at 9.

"But where? This place is huge," Lucius thought to himself.

[Looks like she was planning to ditch you from the beginning, Master. Hehehe. Someone got ghosted. Lmao...]

"Lmao your ass idiot," Lucius replied with a smirk, "She’s not going to ditch me for anything. She approached me because she wanted something."

"And because she thinks she has the chance to get it from me, she will show up."

[Heh, confident. Someone’s backing on his chick magnet aura]

"If she shows up, are you going to let me spin a lottery or open a Gold pack?" Lucius tried to bait the System, but it wasn’t the type to get duped so easily.

[So what if she shows up? You are the one getting laid, not me.]

And just as the System finished pouring water on his scheme, Lucius felt a soft tap on his shoulder.

When he turned, there she was.

The silver-haired girl stood in front of him, hands behind her back, smiling with that same innocent and playful expression from the evening.

Her long silver hair flowed down over her black robe. But this time, a single red rose was embroidered above her left breast, right where Lucius wanted to put his hand on.

Her robe hugged her curves just enough to tease but not quite enough to satisfy curiosity. Her pale skin glowed under the streetlights, and those icy blue eyes sparkled.

’Even if I lose a hand, but damn, I want to feel those soft breasts,’ Lucius barely managed to look away from her chest and turn his attention to the girl.

"You are late," she said sweetly, her voice soft but accusing.

Lucius raised his hands, pretending to surrender, "What can I do? I like to be in the spotlight every time."

"Hmph," she pouted, "Then you must be punished."

"Oh? What kind of punishment are we talking about?"

"Tonight, you have to do three things I ask," she said, holding up three fingers, "No questions asked. No excuses. You agree?"

Lucius shrugged, "Fine. What’s the first one?"

Lilith stepped closer and reached out as she took his hand in hers.

"First wish," she said, locking her fingers with his, "Tonight, you hold my hand, and you can’t let go until I say so."

Lucius chuckled, "That’s so easy."

"Good," she said, tugging at his arm, "Now let’s go."

They walked through City Square hand in hand. The girl led the way, pushing her way through the crowd, stopping to watch performers, sometimes pulling Lucius to join her in silly things like mimicking dance moves or guessing the flavours of candies sold by street vendors.

She was like a child in an amusement park. But there was something mysterious behind her joy. She seemed genuinely happy like she had never done this before. And today, she was living a dream of hers.

Lucius let her lead, and he found himself smiling more than he expected as he watched her laugh at the smallest of things.

After nearly an hour of walking, playing, and enjoying, the girl pointed toward a building on the edge of the square.

"Hungry?" She asked.

"A bit," Lucius nodded.

"Perfect," she smiled and pulled him inside.

The restaurant was fancy. High ceilings, velvet walls, and pleasant soft music.

Lucius looked around, nodding in approval, "Nice place. Looks expensive."

"Only the best can impress me," the girl said, already scanning the menu.

She didn’t waste much time as she the expensive cuts of meat, rare fish dishes, and desserts that sounded like poetry. Then she looked at him and asked, "You are okay with me ordering expensive stuff, right?"

Lucius raised an eyebrow, "Shouldn’t you ask that before ordering?"

She laughed, "Oops."

Then she waved her hand, "Also, bring us your finest red wine."

Lucius frowned a little, "And what if I said no to the wine?"

"Then I would have to just make you say yes another way," and Lucius felt something graze against his leg. Lilith was caressing his leg with her own and slowly moving up.

"I like how you are doing it," Lucius grinned, but just then Lilith pulled back.

"Second wish," she said, raising her hand and pulling out two fingers, "You promised."

"I liked your earlier method better... But... "Lucius paused, then smiled and leaned back in his chair, "Fine. Just one glass."

"That’s all I ask for," the girl smiled victoriously.

[Master, are you seriously drinking wine from a mystery woman just because she rubbed her legs against yours? Something smells fishy here. This is either a trap or a very fancy scam.]

Lucius ignored the system’s warning and looked across the table. The candlelight reflected in her eyes, and her smile was soft, genuine. She looked so pure and innocent at the moment.

Soon, the dishes were served, and wine was poured.

"Do you always hunt for your prey while shopping?" Lucius asked out loud, cutting a piece of meat and placing it on Lilith’s plate, "Not everyone is a gentleman like me."

She grinned, "Dangerous things are always more fun."

Lucius smiled, hearing her and raised the wine glass for a toast.

"To live dangerously," he said, locking eyes with Lilith, his voice low and smooth.

Lilith smiled softly, tilting her head slightly, her silver hair falling across her shoulder like silk. Her fingers brushed against her own glass, ready to toast.

But just as she was about to toast, a loud crash echoed from behind.

CRASH!

The noise was sharp and sudden, breaking the calm of the fancy restaurant. Everyone in the restaurant turned their heads towards the source of the sound.

Even Lucius turned his head to look.

Behind him, the huge tank of a man Lucius saw in the evening opening the car door for Lilith had bumped hard into a waiter.

Plates and glasses were scattered on the floor. The waiter was down on one knee, apologizing quickly while the mountain of a man stood still, brushing something invisible off his shoulders.

Lucius smirked, ’So... she finally makes her move,’ he thought.

[Master, don’t turn too quickly. Let her think you are still distracted. Let’s see what she does.]

Lucius kept his body turned away, his head tilted as if he were watching the scene behind him.

And just then, Lilith moved. Her expression didn’t change. She was still smiling and watching her cute Lucius with gentle, curious eyes.

But under the table, her fingers slipped into her sleeve with practised ease. From the thin green jade bottle hidden inside, she pulled out a tiny green pill. Round, smooth, and glowing faintly in the low light.

With a flick of her fingers, the pill flew silently, like a whisper in the wind. It landed perfectly inside Lucius’s wine glass with a nearly inaudible plop.

It barely took her two seconds to orchestrate it all.

[It’s done]

The System called out in his head.

[She dropped something in your drink. And she was fast.]

Lucius turned back just then, slowly, as if he had seen nothing. His eyes met hers again. Her smile hadn’t changed one bit.

"Your bodyguard," Lucius said casually, raising the glass slightly, "Looks like a human tank, but honestly... kind of a clutz."

Lilith giggled softly, resting her chin on her palm, watching his every move.

Lucius continued, "I mean, you would think someone who looks like he eats rocks for breakfast could at least walk straight."

Lilith laughed again, though her eyes remained focused on the glass in Lucius’s hand.

Lucius held the wine glass up again and turned it slightly in the candlelight.

"Anyway," he added smoothly, his voice like honey, "Let’s toast again. This time... to your loyal bodyguard. A big ass goofball."

He raised his glass higher. Lilith raised hers too, her smile wide, her gaze sharp.

And just as Lucius was about to take a sip...

[Master, this is your last chance to back out. You don’t know what’s that pill for.]

Lucius smiled slightly at the voice in his head as he slowly tilted the glass toward his lips...

’We are about to find out.’
