CHAPTER 154: PREPARING FOR CHRISTMAS

[The Wolf Doesn’t Eat Meat]: Pictures pictures pictures — being rich is truly annoying, especially when your roommate is rich. First day working as the butler of Blue Moon Castle... what a sweet burden.

On the second day at Blue Moon Castle, Nine happily shared his peaceful, blissful photos with his "friends" online.

This move nearly made the fans who had been following him explode.

[That’s insane, so he finally revealed his real job?! Blue Moon Castle!!! How high is the salary for a butler there?!]

[Didn’t he say "roommate"? Meaning this Blue Moon Castle belongs to his roommate, and then Wolfie became the butler!!!]

[I finally understand why Wolfie is rich now!]

[A roommate like this... share him with me please, my butler skills are decent too ha ha ha]

[So when Wolfie got kicked out the other day, he was kicked out of Blue Moon Castle?]

[I heard the castle just changed owners, so maybe not...]

[My god they’re so rich]

[Wolfie please love Joshua for another 100 years!]

[Love him for 1000 years ha ha ha]

[Joshua probably never expected his fans to be this wealthy]

[If I stay active like this, can I get a ticket to visit Blue Moon Castle?]

The crowd was extremely lively, and Christmas was getting closer and closer. Joshua and Nine also took the chance to decorate the castle a bit.

During this time, Luther kept calling Joshua nonstop, and Henry messaged in the group chat saying they had to gather on Christmas Eve to livestream Christmas with the fans.

Luther suggested coming to Joshua’s house. The others had no objections and were simply waiting for Joshua’s answer.

But Joshua was offline the entire day, which prompted Leonard to poke his profile picture a little.

[Are you really planning to spend the whole holiday sleeping, Joshua? Wake up?]

Despite all the calling, Joshua only started showing signs of life the next morning.

[...]

The group chat instantly became wildly active.

[Joshua’s Best Friend]: What’s with the ellipsis, huh?

[Joshua Is a Pig]: Make a decision already. I think your place is the best.

[Wake Up Joshua]: I want to go to Joshua’s house too.

Joshua glanced through all their nicknames, feeling as if he had walked straight into the scene of a bullying incident — and he was definitely the one being bullied!

He couldn’t help replying: Come over and decorate, I haven’t decorated anything yet. Also, change your nicknames.

[Joshua Is a Pig]: You haven’t decorated anything? Tomorrow is Christmas. Seriously, did you really sleep the entire break?

[Joshua’s Best Friend]: Sleeping too much really isn’t good for you.

Joshua hadn’t been sleeping. He’d been busy decorating the castle, but he had no reason to tell them that.

Even though they complained, everyone was actually super excited and had already started dividing who would bring what for the decorations.

[Henry]: I’ll bring the tree.

Henry sent the message and immediately disappeared.

Right then, Joshua felt a weight press onto his shoulder. He turned around, only to find Nine’s face extremely close to his.

Nine looked at Joshua, practically seeing his own reflection in Joshua’s eyes — and honestly, it was ugly.

He suddenly frowned and floated backward, his mind flashing with all the comments he had read earlier. A wave of regret hit him for not choosing a more handsome physical form.

Joshua, worried, grabbed Nine’s hand: "What’s wrong?"

Nine suddenly leaned back dramatically, nearly scaring Joshua out of his skin.

Nine raised a hand to touch his own face and then declared out of nowhere: "I want plastic surgery."

Joshua: "... this isn’t even your real body."

"Then you mean I should change my body?" Nine looked at Joshua.

Joshua hadn’t expected Nine to care about his appearance this much. Before, he always seemed like he didn’t care at all.

In truth, Joshua used to think of Nine as a machine. Only after certain things happened did he realize Nine also had emotions like a human being.

Joshua reached out and gently rubbed Nine’s head, speaking softly: "Just do whatever you want. I don’t really care about your appearance."

And to Joshua, Nine’s true appearance was the starry sky — glittering like the galaxy. He was curious what Nine actually looked like, but Nine never wanted to be seen, so Joshua had never brought it up.

Nine looked at the beautifully decorated, sparkling castle, feeling a bit irritated because soon Joshua wouldn’t be here anymore.

Sensing Nine’s mood, Joshua suddenly said: "Just come to my place. After the livestream, we’ll celebrate Christmas together."

Nine’s eyes widened: "Really?"

Joshua nodded. Nine immediately lunged forward and hugged him. Even though his physical form looked smaller than Joshua’s, he lifted Joshua up and spun him effortlessly.

As Joshua was nearing home, his phone rang. He answered, and Luther’s urging voice came from the other side: "Joshua, you’re not home? Did you move again?"

Joshua said: "I’m here."

Following his voice, the group looked over and saw a black car stopping in front of them.

Joshua got out, smiling as he waved and walked toward them.

The four were standing at the entrance of the apartment building. Next to Henry was a Christmas tree almost as tall as he was. Luther held a big box, and Leonard and Justin had all sorts of random decorations in their arms.

They hadn’t seen each other for only a few days, yet the way they stared at him made Joshua stop for a moment. He looked up at them and gently asked: "Did you wait long?"

He looked like a little bunny standing in front of a pack of wolves. Luther couldn’t help laughing: "Are you scared we’ll eat you?" The others laughed too.

Henry had been staring at Joshua the whole time, and his thoughts drifted to the car from earlier. It seemed the car didn’t leave but went to park instead...

Joshua pouted slightly and walked up the steps: "Who’s scared..."

Luther waved his hand: "I just called you a second ago. Alright, let’s go." He was about to start walking.

Joshua quickly said: "Wait, hold on. We need to wait for Nine."

"Nine?" the group said almost in unison. Henry only frowned slightly, as if he had expected this.

Joshua nodded: "I promised to celebrate Christmas with him. This came up suddenly, I can’t just leave him alone at home."

Leonard immediately caught something off: "You’re living with him."

Joshua hadn’t even answered when Nine came running toward them. He reached them and instantly slung an arm over Joshua’s shoulders, raising a hand: "Hi."

Justin nodded. Henry said nothing. Leonard and Luther, however, stared so hard their eyes were practically turning into arrows.

That shoulder spot next to Joshua is clearly mine! Luther was fuming.

"Alright, let’s go." Joshua said, leading the way up. Nine instantly stuck close behind him.

The others slowly followed, exchanging glances. At that moment, they were all thinking the exact same thing.

We should never have planned Christmas at Joshua’s place. If we held it anywhere else, Joshua definitely wouldn’t have brought Nine.
