CHAPTER 66: BEGINNING FINAL PREPARATIONS

Maximus tapped his fingers against his knee in deep thought. "Good. But we also need to make sure everything behind the scenes is running perfectly. And I am talking staff, security, accomodations. We can’t afford a single mistake on opening night."

Zack laughed, shaking his head. "Man, you really don’t trust people to do their jobs, huh?"

Maximus gave him a look. "I trust results. And I want everything to be flawless."

Zack raised his hands in mock surrender, "Alright, alrighty mister perfectionist. We will go over the details later." he paused, then smirked. "But tell me, are you actually excited about this?"

Maximus hesitated for a brief moment before exhaling. Zack didn’t know how excited he was because he didn’t know Maximus literally jumped off a woman when he had the news.

"Yeah," he admitted, the corner of his lips lifting slightly. "I am."

Zack grinned, clinking his glass of wine against maximus’s untouched bottled of water. "Then let’s make it happen."

A comfortable silence settled between them as the weight of their upcoming endeavor lingered in the air.

Zack leaned back with a satisfied sigh. "Man, just think about it. The launch party, the press, the insane amount of money that is gonna pour in. We are about to create something legendary."

Maximus chuckled. "Lets just make sure we don’t screw it up first."

Maximus and Zack stood up from their spots in the living room, stretching briefly before making their way toward the dining hall.

The smell of freshly prepared food wafted through the air, teasing their senses as they stepped inside.

The long polished mahogany dining table was already set, lined with dishes that put a five star restaurant to shame.

Maids moved efficiently, their crisp bunny girl uniform immaculate as they placed the last few platters down.

The meal was a feast, it was fluffy scrambled eggs, grilled salmon, perfectly seared steaks, fresh fruit and a variety of bread and pastries.

The silverware gleamed under the soft glow of the chandelier above.

Maximus pulled out a chair and sat down, barely glancing at the extravagant spread.

He wasn’t the type to overindulge, but he appreciated the effort.

Zack on the other hand, had no such reservations. He clapped his hands together, grinning as he reached for a plate of eggs.

"Man, this is what I call living," Zack said, piling food onto his plate. "Fine dining every morning? I could get used to this."

Maximus smiled but did not make a comment as he took a slice of toast and some salmon.

He wasn’t in the mood fo a heavy breakfast.

They ate quickly, not lingering over the meal.

Maximus had never been one to waste time, and Zack, for all his laid back tendencies, knew when to be serious.

Once they finished, Maximus pushed his chair back and stood, grabbing the house key from the nearby counter. He shot a glance at Zack. "Lets go."

Zach hurriedly wiped his mouth with a napkin and stood as well, "Finally I was starting to think wed sit around all day like old men."

They quickly exited the building, and entering Obsidian. Maximus taking the driver’s seat while Zack settled into the passenger side.

The engine roared to life with a deep, satisfying purr, and without wasting a second, Maximus pulled out onto the road.

As they drove, Zack leaned back in his seat, watching the scenery blur past.

The city was already bustling, the streets lined with cars and pedestrians going about their day.

"With the way things are going," Zack mused, tapping his finger against the dashboard, "We should be able to launch the resort by the end of the month... I swear that would probably skyrocket you to Valerie Sawyer’s standard."

Maximus nodded, his eyes focused on the road. "Yeah, the foundation is set. Staffing, management, and infrastructure are in place. Now it is just about getting the word out." he responded, completely disregarding his comment concerning Valerie Sawyer.

Zack smirked. "Ah, the magic of marketing. Time to make this place the hottest destination in the Central City and the country at large."

Maximus didn’t respond immediately. He had already been thinking aout the best way to handle advertising, his brain working overtime like a machine.

In his opinion, standard marketing techniques weren’t enough.

He wanted something bigger, something that would make the launch an event people wouldn’t forget.

The continued their drive in relative silence, the city slowly giving way to a more open landscape as they neared the port where the resort was being developed.

The sky stretched wide above them, the blue waters glistening under the sunlight.

As they approached, Maximus could already see staff members moving about, making last minute adjustments to various parts of the property.

The moment they pulled into the parking area, a group of maids in neatly pressed uniforms welcomed them from a distance, bowing slightly as they approached.

"Welcome sir," one of them said with a polite smile. "We’ve been expecting you."

Maximus nodded and stepped out of the car, with Zack following suit.

The sound of construction was very much audible in the distance, along side the chatter of employees going about their tasks.

The resort was nearing completion, and it was a sight to behold.

A massive, sprawling property set against the stunning back drop of the sea.

The main hotel building towered nearby, a masterpiece of modern architecture with large glass windows that reflected the sunlight beautifully.

Everything was coming together, and soon the world would know it.

Zack let out a low whistle as he took in the view. "Man, I gotta hand it to you. This place is something else."

Maximus smirked. "You’ve seen it a dozen times already bro."

"Yeah, but every time I do... it looks better." Zack stretched, glancing toward the staff members who were watching them expectantly. "Alright, boss man, what the plan for today?"

Maximus exhaled, "We’re checking the final preparations. I want to make sure everything is perfect before we start the marketing campaign."

Zack clapped his hands together. "Then let’s get to it."
