CHAPTER 34: CHAPTER 34: ALIEN CIVILIZATION?

"Third party?" The regiment commander, Jia Weixin, was stunned and asked gravely, "Where did this third party come from?"

"We’re still searching, but our portable radar can only scan an area within a hundred kilometers, and we haven’t found the target. The environment here doesn’t allow us to release a hot air balloon satellite either."

Jiang Liang anxiously tapped on the keyboard, "There are two possibilities: either their technology is much superior to ours, or they’re not within a hundred kilometers."

Jia Weixin’s face changed rapidly, and suddenly he shouted, "Quickly call that person... ask him about the fortune and calamity."

"Commander, are you referring to the Mental System Superpower User, Li Liangcai? I’ll get him right away." The communications officer responded promptly.

"Li Liangcai, use your ability quickly and see what we’ll encounter next," Jia Weixin spoke rapidly.

"Yes, sir!"

Li Liangcai hurriedly used his superpower.

In the next moment, his eyes widened because in his ’vision,’ a sky-covering ’UFO’ dropped the corpse of a strange beast, shocking him out of that ethereal vision.

"How about it? What did you see?" Jia Weixin hurriedly asked.

Li Liangcai, with a dry mouth, said, "I... I saw a UFO..."

"A... a UFO?!" Commander Jia Weixin was bewildered, "Have aliens entered this world too? What exactly did you see?"

Li Liangcai: "The UFO dropped the corpse of a strange beast onto the ground."

Jia Weixin was still bewildered, "That’s it?"

"That’s it." Li Liangcai nodded.

"Could that strange beast’s corpse be some sort of infection source?" Jia Weixin frowned and then asked, "How about the fortune and calamity?"

Li Liangcai said uncertainly, "I feel something good is about to happen, but also something bad. It’s like someone is plotting against us, but doesn’t seem to intend to harm us. Yet, I’m not very sure; my ability is quite unreliable at times."

Jia Weixin rubbed his temples and instructed the communication officer, "Get that person... the one with the Rule System Superpower of turning stones into gold, to expedite metal production and reinforce the defense measures. Also, tell the epidemic center to prepare for potential outbreaks."

"Yes, Commander!" The communications officer again relayed the message.

"Jiang Liang, if we spot any trace of the UFO, send a message immediately, show our goodwill, and see if there’s a chance for cooperation with the UFO that might appear."

"Yes, Commander," Jiang Liang responded urgently.

Jia Weixin gave some other instructions before hurriedly leaving.

He had to deal with the next set of issues, as they had found a race suspected to be the natives of this world ahead.

Although those natives looked human, they were clearly not human.

This was undoubtedly an earth-shattering event; after being in this world for three years, it was the first time they discovered another intelligent race.

And currently, they had no idea whether the other party was friend or foe, whether they were benevolent or malevolent.

Earth’s humans had been in this world for only three years, and several mountain-shattering, earth-splitting strong individuals had emerged.

If that race’s civilization truly were the natives of this world, just how powerful would they be?

Though Earth’s humans had rapidly grown stronger by continuously excavating ancient ruins, wouldn’t the native residents of this world also excavate ruins?

So they were very tense, as this was the meeting of two different civilizations, and no one could predict what might happen.

Anyway, given the mindset of most humans back on Earth, suddenly discovering another intelligent race would make them feel their dominance as intelligent beings was challenged, leading to an instinct to destroy the other party.

"Those who are not of our kind must have a different heart!"

The other party might have a similar mindset.

What made them most uneasy was that the other party’s population might far exceed theirs, and the number of strong individuals was entirely unknown.

Conversely, their Earth human civilization was completely dispersed, with only less than ten thousand people here, and if a conflict broke out, their chances of victory were very slim, even nonexistent.

The only puzzling thing was the suspicious manner in which the foreign race’s settlement appeared. They had not noticed it from afar; it was only when they were a mere kilometer away, practically in their faces, that they discovered the enormous settlement.

Additionally, there was something else strange: even at a distance of just a kilometer, the foreign race’s settlement paid no attention to them, with many people coming and going, directly ignoring them.

It’s unclear whether they completely disregarded them or if there was another reason.

But regardless, retreating now was too late, leaving their back turned to a foreign civilization they were meeting for the first time would be suicide.

They could only dig trenches here and establish defensive measures just in case.

"This world has many Ancient Ruins, and the text within those ruins is all in Chinese. What does this signify? Could it mean that the native language of that race might be Chinese too? Could we communicate?"

"And the UFO that might soon appear... Could it be aliens or another civilization in this world? Can we communicate with them..."

Jia Weixin was overwhelmed; they didn’t have any linguists in their team.

The entire New Safe Zone was made suspicious due to Yang Yuan’s inadvertent actions.

Meanwhile, 140 kilometers away.

Yang Yuan was also feeling frustrated: "How did it disappear? I was just enlarging the map, and the Firepower Flying Disc automatically aimed at that location... Could it have been discovered?"

If the military played dirty and dismantled the Firepower Flying Disc, it would be a disaster.

With that thought, he hurried toward the pile of trashed Firepower Flying Disc remains.

The most intact one was repaired by Zhao Jiayan, but the other seven were severely damaged, almost reduced to a pile of scrap metal.

These scraps, however, had significant value.

"Is this... a magnet?"

Suddenly, Yang Yuan discovered a fist-sized magnet amongst the scraps, and his eyes lit up.

"Such strong attraction!"

He tried pulling at it, finding that he had to exert full strength to separate the metal from the magnet.

"Are these materials for making Anti-gravity Devices? So, there are at least seven Strong Magnets here—"

A flash of inspiration hit Yang Yuan: "I’ve got it!"

He quickly dismantled the twisted and deformed gun barrels and, utilizing nearby rock crevices and larger metal pieces, hammered them into circular metal rings.

He then linked these rings together to create an oversized chain.
