My Joker System: From Low Mana Trash to the Mightiest Wizard!
Chapter 255: Hal’s Devious Plan
CHAPTER 255: HAL’S DEVIOUS PLAN
"Quick, we must finish everything before the new tribe arrives!" Hal instructed as he arranged tons of meat in a heap, placing it right in the middle of the territories of the two largest Leonid Tribes in the Savannah.
It would only be a matter of time before their sensitive noses track the massive food source.
The heap, if secured, would probably last even the large tribes for a week and a half.
In this savannah where every creature is desperate to survive, such an amount of food was truly worth fighting for.
"L-Loki! I’ll give you food later! Those are for the monsters!" Hal reprimanded, almost breaking his stern exterior after watching his wolf companion’s rather comical look.
"Let’s go, we have to leave quickly!"
Loki ripped one last chunk of raw warthog meat before accommodating Liora on his back, overtaking the dumbfounded Hal after receiving instructions not to hold back.
Even the Manatech Hoverboard’s maximum speed was left in the dust by the adolescent wolf’s sprint.
Liora could only thank the gods and the goddesses for not allowing Hal to see what her face looked like at that moment.
Soon, the pup and the maiden made it to the Baobab Tree. Hal arrived around a minute later.
The three then ascended the tree, taking their usual spots in the high branches.
To Liora’s surprise, Hal handed her a paper bag and a bottle of soda, while Loki received a bucket of beast kibbles.
"Tell me if you want a drink, alright?" Hal rubbed his wolf companion’s head, inevitably turning to his comrade after hearing her question.
"H-Hal, w-what are these, w-why did you give me snacks?"
"Right...That thing’s called popcorn. It goes well with the soda, best consumed when watching a show. You’ll love it," he responded with a wide smile that made Liora’s face redden slightly as she nodded.
She kinda had an idea what show her comrade was talking about.
Only, she didn’t know if she would enjoy munching on some popcorn and sipping on a soda while watching such brutality.
Liora retrieved her Spyscope from her spatial bag while Hal summoned the [Spirit Sparrow] to watch everything from the best point of view.
Soon enough, the distant shrubbery rustled, and a few members of each tribe detected the juicy scent of blood.
They scurried closer, senses on high alert despite the demonic temptation.
If they could smell the food, they were certain that other tribes could, too, and perhaps even a few beasts would contend for it.
The scouts couldn’t allow themselves to be ambushed. Their tribes would learn of the food source too late, otherwise.
Judging from the strong smell, they were certain that there was a lot.
Perhaps a dead elephant beast or a fallen Pachyd.
If they could secure it...
The scouts of each tribe prowled closer and closer, with the Leonids in the lead, all happening right in front of Hal’s eyes.
It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that what was about to occur was all his doing.
The small party of Leonids finally arrived at the area, peering from behind a bush. They were petrified at what they saw.
In front of them were carefully stacked heaps of meat.
Their wild instincts immediately took over, preventing them from utilizing their brains.
In the next moment, the female Leonids rushed back to camp, informing the rest of their tribe.
They simply knew it would be stupid to attempt to secure the heaps with their little numbers, as the Crothars, who always hunted for food in huge groups of more than twenty members, would be the ones to emerge victorious in such a setting.
They had to bring the rest of their members here, and fast!
The other Leonid tribe also did the same.
Soon, the Pantherans arrived, and like the first ones here, they immediately went to fetch their tribe members.
A few beasts managed to steal a few large chunks, but the moment the humanoid hyenas, the Crothars, arrived, the beasts didn’t dare go near the mouthwatering food source.
They could only watch from afar as the powerful monster tribe monopolized the juicy heaps.
Of course, the Crothars weren’t new to this. They were certain that the Leonids were on the way.
The leader of the Crothar war party immediately ordered two of his subordinates to fetch the rest of their clan members.
They needed all one hundred and twenty members if they wanted to even have a chance to secure this food source.
The damned Leonids were mightier than them, after all.
It was the Pantherans who had to play their cards perfectly here, as they weren’t as physically strong and savage as the Leonids, and they also weren’t as tough and persistent as the Crothars.
The one thing they had going for them was their speed and craftiness.
The best scenario for them here was to wait for a chance, steal a few heaps, and then return to their territory with two or three days’ worth of food secured.
There was simply no way in hell they would win everything for themselves.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t only the three monster tribes who had detected the meat source, as, in the distant Acacias, the Hawkins perched themselves, their numbers growing as they watched with opportunistic eyes.
It didn’t even have to be the heaps of meat. They were fine with the corpses of either the Pantherans or the Leonids.
As much as they wanted to have more selections, the flesh of the darned Crothars was too putrid to consume.
Time passed.
Around fifteen minutes later, whole tribes were marching in the distance, eyes on the prize.
They knew this would be a tough battle, but they couldn’t give up such a massive source of food, not to their enemies.
The two largest Leonid tribes soon made it to the vision of the [Spirit Sparrow].
The rest of the Crothars and the Pantherans were also arriving at the site, making Hal’s heart pound with excitement.
’Now...let Chaos ensue!’
