'Tch, should I roll for a card and hope for a miracle?' Hal thought inwardly as he continuously fired his usable [Common]-tier spells from a safe distance.

He finally encountered a limitation of his usually-reliable [Epic]-tier spell, [Winter's Grasp], as it wouldn't activate no matter how hard he tried outside of the raging aqua tornadoes.

Hal was left with no other options for now but to keep firing.

He was able to sneak in a few [Uncommon]- and [Rare]-tier spells, but that was it.

'Damn it.'

In his frustration, he used his ten-common-tier-spell-burst, though almost half of them outright died before they could even reach the fighting beasts.

But there was a spell among the ten that was coincidentally swallowed by one of the tornadoes: the [Sparkblast].

Nothing seemed special at first.

However, a second later, the tornado burst in a spark of lightning before returning to its usual appearance.

Hal's expression brightened as an idea popped into his mind.

He then looked at the two beasts, both engaging in a battle of maws, biting down hard on their opponents' long bodies.

'Sorry about this, serpent…'

In the next moment, he swam dangerously close in the middle of two aqua tornadoes, exploding in an outburst of thunder.

If even a mere sphere of spark could trigger such a reaction, then a [Rare]-tier [Thunderous Outburst]...

Sure enough, the thunder-infused mana crawled into the aqua tornadoes, causing the two elements to fuse.

Thunder crackled violently underwater, its effects crawling all the way to the ongoing battle between the two colossal beasts and temporarily numbing them.

However, the serpent was so furious at its adversary that it ignored the weak elemental disturbance, continuing to thrash its head as hard as it could in hopes of tearing a huge chunk of flesh.

The Sea Dragon, on the other hand, wasn't as focused on the battle.

It seemed to have felt the effects of the violent element more than its enemy.

In the next moment, its pupils constricted into vertical slits, wailing in agony as the white-scaled beast finally managed to rip a part of its flesh.

The Sea Dragon naturally grew furious, setting its draconic pride aside and shooting a piercing aqua laser at the serpent's way, puncturing a significant hole in its body.

The white-scaled beast hissed in anger and anguish.

It quickly got back to biting down on its draconic adversary, unwilling to experience the humiliation it suffered a dozen days ago.

The serpent would rather die than retreat this time.

Meanwhile, Hal was busy on the sidelines, trying to turn all the aqua tornadoes into thundering aqua tornadoes.

Four down, six to go…

Time ticked as the battle raged on.

The two colossal sea beasts tore at each other with vicious bites, though the Sea Dragon had the obvious advantage.

It was a dragon, after all, so it could cast spells.

For the said royal race of beasts, being able to do so didn't automatically warrant them the title of a Megala Deora.

They still qualified as special-tier beasts, though…

Another minute later, the white-scaled serpent's mysterious, defiant hiss of agony echoed once again in the depths, followed by the spurting of blood as its pristine scales were shattered and a huge chunk of its flesh was torn by the powerful jaws of the Sea Dragon.

Both beasts were heavily injured.

However, it seemed that the Sea Dragon fared a bit better in the exchanges, mainly due to its naturally tougher body and stronger jaws.

It was simply a matter of racial superiority.

If there was anything the white-scaled serpent had an advantage in, it was ferocity and resolve.

It was ready to die if it meant dragging the Sea Dragon down with it.

To make matters worse for the two beasts, the initially weak thunder was now crackling menacingly, caging the two of them in a makeshift arena.

The draconic guardian began to regret ignoring the human.

Now, thunder was raging in the depths, and both of them were being constantly electrocuted.

It was not enough to kill both of them, sure.

However, it added an element of chaos to the Sea Dragon's almost-certain victory, as both beasts would be randomly paralyzed from time to time.

The idea to dismiss the aqua tornadoes crossed the draconic guardian's mind.

But it decided not to, as allowing the annoying human to join in would be more problematic.

The Sea Dragon decided to kill the white-scaled serpent first before doing so.

Then, it would kill the human next.

The draconic guardian's arms and claws weren't that huge and powerful, but it was enough to allow the Sea Dragon to keep its target in place.

Enduring another nasty bite, the guardian grabbed what could be called the neck of the serpent firmly, locking it in place.

The Sea Dragon then opened its maws, blasting an aqua cannon right in the desperately thrashing head of the white-scaled invader.

The attack hit squarely; the serpent was blown away, falling silent as it sank deeper.

"Damn it!" Hal cursed.

The white-scaled serpent lost!

Or so he thought…

Just when the Sea Dragon was about to shift its attention to him, it sensed something, quickly looking down.

"HISS!!"

The heavily injured serpent wasn't done yet, rushing with reckless abandon like it was the undisputed number one hater of the draconic guardian, biting one of its whiskers and ripping off a small, rather insignificant part of the Sea Dragon's head.

The guardian cried in pain, violently shaking its head before turning to look at the white-scaled serpent.

The pupils in its massive eyes once again constricted into vertical slits as it noticed that its adversary was trying to harness the power of mana around them, opening its maws wide as if about to shoot a projectile the Sea Dragon's way.

But nothing happened.

The serpent's attempt failed, giving the draconic guardian a huge opening to exploit.

The Sea Dragon rushed towards its faltering enemy, once again locking its head in place with its relatively short arms.

It then opened its maws to shoot an Aqua Laser that would pierce the white-scaled invader's skull in hopes of ending the battle for good.

However, it suddenly froze, paralyzed by the crackling thunder mid-cast.

The mana it harnessed broke free, and the Sea Dragon suffered a backlash.

Then, to its disbelief, the concentration of mana reluctantly cooperated with the serpent, as if subdued by its undying will.

In the next moment…

The mana merged with the violent element raging in the white-scaled invader's body, erupting into a thunderous outburst as the white-scaled serpent chomped on the draconic guardian's body.
