My Lady Always Lacks Ambition
Chapter 479 - 471: I Believe Your Evil!
CHAPTER 479: CHAPTER 471: I BELIEVE YOUR EVIL!
In the month of La, during Little New Year, Zhihe Academy closed for the holiday, and Qin Mingchun and Qin Mingqi returned to the Qin family. They first paid their respects to Old Mrs. Qin before departing.
Qin Mingchun headed to Qin Liuxi’s side courtyard, patting the wallet at his waist as he strode into the yard.
"You dead vixen, don’t run, give me back my Ginsengfruit."
Just as Qin Mingchun stepped in, a fiery red shadow swiftly flashed by, followed by something else chasing after it, and a strong scent hit his nose.
Qin Mingchun was somewhat stunned, and looked around; was he seeing things?
It seemed like a ginseng had just run past his feet, and there was a strong ginseng smell.
It must have been his imagination, how could a ginseng run and talk?
Qin Mingchun tilted his head, casually glancing from the corner of his eye, he saw Teng Zhao standing at the door, and immediately approached him, clearing his throat: "Why are you standing here, Zhao? Where’s my big sister?"
What a pretentious tone, he really thinks he’s the Junior Master!
Teng Zhao bowed slightly, "Master is inside."
"Right." Qin Mingchun took off his wallet, pulling out a corner of a silver note to hand over, "New Year’s is coming, here’s some spending money from Junior Master."
Teng Zhao stared bewildered at the small piece of silver, probably weighing about two grams, wondering how he acquired it?
"Where did you get this silver?" Teng Zhao was puzzled. "If it’s from your monthly salary, you should keep it for yourself at the academy."
"It’s not from my salary; I earned it at the academy," said Qin Mingchun proudly, "I helped the teacher with accounting, and he rewarded me for it."
Teng Zhao frowned, "Why would you need to do accounting at the academy? Do all students do that, or just you?"
"Of course, because I’m quick and accurate at math, the teacher wanted my help. No one else is as fast and precise as me; they couldn’t do it even if they wanted to," Qin Mingchun boasted.
Teng Zhao replied, "Since you earned it yourself, you should keep it."
He pushed the silver back, but Qin Mingchun pushed it back again, saying: "Take it; one does not refuse a gift from an elder. As Junior Master, giving you a little pocket money is nothing. I’m not poor!"
Teng Zhao lowered his gaze, hiding the amusement flickering in his eyes, and said, "Well, thank you, Junior Master."
"Hmm." Qin Mingchun was satisfied.
"What are you babbling about over there?" Qin Liuxi opened the window and looked over, "Qin Xiaowu, when did you come back?"
Qin Mingchun immediately ran over, bowing respectfully, "Big sister."
"Come in and talk, don’t you find it cold outside?" Qin Liuxi closed the window with a bang.
Qin Mingchun entered and saw Wang Chuan leaning over the desk, writing and mumbling something. He pretended to take a look, and again took out a corner of a silver note from his wallet, offering it as a reward.
Wang Chuan, delighted by the reward, smiled with her eyes curved, calling him a wonderful Junior Master with every other breath, almost causing Qin Mingchun to burst with pride.
Qin Liuxi, upon seeing this, asked Teng Zhao the same question, and Qin Mingchun inevitably had to explain again.
"By the way, before I came back today, Mountain Master called me over and even had me bow and call him teacher as I served tea. Big sister, does this mean my days at the academy are over? If I bowed this time, does it mean it’s a farewell and I can’t return next year?"
Qin Liuxi, somewhat surprised, snorted with laughter, "You’re so clueless you don’t even know that serving tea and bowing to call someone teacher is not a farewell ritual; it’s a ceremony to become an apprentice!"
"Ah?" Qin Mingchun’s eyes widened as he pointed to himself, "I’m to become an apprentice to Mountain Master Tang?"
"You’ve already paid your respects with tea and kowtows, what, planning to deny all that?"
"That’s not right, big sister, I’m such a dunce. How could Master Tang ever take me as his disciple, isn’t he afraid I’ll tarnish his reputation?" Qin Mingchun was utterly puzzled, and even irreverently wondered if Master Tang had his brain squeezed by a door?
Qin Liuxi thought of the large notes forcefully donated by others, and said through gritted teeth: "With your talents, being able to become Master Tang’s student, of course, comes from buying your way in with silver."
It was her silver.
"I’m warning you, Qin Xiaowu, you’re damn lucky to have such a big sucker of a big sister like me, laying down bridges and paving roads for you, even roping in a famous teacher like Master Tang. If you don’t turn out to be someone decent, I’ll beat you to death!" It would be a total waste of her large notes otherwise.
Qin Mingchun shuddered: "I can change..." His words were decisively altered under Qin Liuxi’s deadly glare: "I’ll study hard for sure."
Qin Liuxi snorted.
Teng Zhao said: "Innate stupidity can only be remedied by diligence later on, diligence makes up for clumsiness."
Qin Mingchun’s handsome face crumpled into a frown, lacking any self-confidence: "What if I’m really just a piece of rotten wood?"
"If you really are rotten wood, then you must at least like that charcoal, generate some residual heat!" Qin Liuxi pointed to the silver frost charcoal next to the charcoal basin, coldly sneering sinisterly.
Qin Mingchun glanced at the dark lump of charcoal and shuddered; she wants to burn him!
Big sister is indeed terrifying.
"The Little Ginseng Spirit is truly stingy, over just one tiny ginseng fruit, chasing me for nine streets, was that necessary?" Feng You barged in, and with a shake, transformed upon entering.
Qin Mingchun saw a fiery red dog (a fox actually): "Wow, what a beautiful dog...person?"
He watched wide-eyed as Feng You changed from a dog (fox) to a person, so shocked he fell straight backwards.
Teng Zhao quickly caught him, frowning at Feng You: "A Big Demon like you, don’t you know there’s a mortal here?" Couldn’t you control yourself a bit?
Feng You replied: "I knew, but his blood is the same as your master’s, what is there to fear? At worst, I’ll just cast an Illusion Technique on him and erase this memory."
He was about to make his move as he spoke.
"No need." Qin Liuxi woke Qin Mingchun up.
Qin Mingchun, seeing her, cried out excitedly: "Big sis, I just had a dream! I dreamed that a dog with nine tails turned into a human!"
Feng You, enraged, stormed over: "Are you blind, it’s a fox, not a dog!"
Qin Mingchun blinked: "You look just like the person in my dream."
While Feng You was still arguing about the dog and fox, wanting to transform back, Qin Liuxi pushed him away with a palm.
"You were indeed dreaming, it’s not real." Qin Liuxi gave a perfunctory explanation.
Qin Mingchun looked at her, then at Feng You, the man even more beautiful than him, actually about to swing a fist at him, a dream?
He pinched his thigh, and timidly said: "Big sister, pinching my leg hurts."
It hurts, how could it be a dream?
"I said it was, and so it is!" Qin Liuxi glared at him: "A gentleman never speaks of strange forces and gods, you’re a scholar; if it’s not a dream, then did you really see an animal turn into a demon? What kind of nonsense is that!"
Just as Qin Mingchun was about to say something, he saw on the windowsill a ginseng with neat leaves, fully-tailed, hopping into a clay pot on the windowsill while burying itself in the soil and crying: "The millennium-old vixen is heartless, oh, my ginseng fruit, all gone!"
Qin Mingchun stared, his expression complex as he looked toward Qin Liuxi, while his lips quirked up slightly, a dream?
I believe your nonsense!
