CHAPTER 730: CHAPTER 714: YOU GUYS ARE TRYING TO PASS THE BUCK

Emperor Fengdu frowned and complained to the Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva.

"I really don’t want to see her; I’m afraid she’ll be unreasonable. If she remembers the good things she has done, who knows if she’ll go crazy and mess things up again."

The Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva replied with a cheerful smile, "Why panic? She’s doing fine in the mortal world, gathering merit and saving people. The child is just visiting the Underworld, what’s there to worry about?"

Emperor Fengdu snorted, "What if this wild child burns the Underworld beyond recognition again? Look at your Ksitigarbha Hall, that pillar still records the good deeds she did back then. I hope you don’t remember those painful memories when you see her, and don’t want to enforce any strict rules."

Following his gesture, the Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva saw the main pillar of his hall, a patch of it charred black, even tarnishing the carvings of the evil beasts above it; it had not been repaired for many years.

His lips twitched, and he took a sip of tea, somewhat melancholic, thinking that the past is irretrievable.

Seeing that he was no longer talking, Emperor Fengdu began to sigh.

Suddenly, he straightened up, feigning an aura of majesty and sacred inviolability.

The wild child had arrived.

Qin Liuxi did not expect this meeting to be in Ksitigarbha Hall, and to see both Emperor Fengdu and the Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva. She paused, then respectfully performed a greeting.

The Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva’s eyes warmly comforted, thinking, children eventually grow up. See, isn’t she much more polite now, paying respect to her elders, and knowing how to greet properly. Where is the wildness?

Emperor Fengdu: "!"

Just a greeting, and you’re almost ecstatic to howl twice, look at where that puts you, wondering if this wretched child is contemplating which vindictive soul to transcend more conveniently, hence the pretense of innocence, but actually making plans so loud that even the human world can hear.

That’s a no action without seeing the benefit kind of person.

Emperor Fengdu was not wrong in his thoughts. The Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva had long achieved Merit Completion but chose not to become a full Buddha, tying himself to hell just because of a vow, aiming to be on good terms with him, which would make future requests easier to negotiate.

"What brings you here, Buqiu?" Emperor Fengdu asked with air of importance.

Qin Liuxi looked at the Great Emperor and blurted out, "You haven’t changed at all, have you?"

Emperor Fengdu’s pupils shook. Were her reincarnation memories returning?

After speaking, Qin Liuxi yelped slightly, her eyebrows furrowing, as if curious why she would say that. Had she truly met Emperor Fengdu before?

An Immortal Peach appeared before her, and Qin Liuxi quickly took it, putting the strange thought behind her and smiling at the Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva with gratitude, taking a crisp bite.

Sweet and juicy, delicious, slurp.

The Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva’s eyes softened.

While eating, Qin Liuxi surveyed her surroundings, noticed a Vajra Mallet on the desk, and her eyes lit up. Picking it up, she said, "This mallet seems fated for me; out of so many things, it caught my eye first."

The Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva’s gentle smile paused.

Emperor Fengdu glimpsed at him with some schadenfreude, thinking, so much for the well-mannered good child you described.

The Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva spoke with a smile, "Buqiu likes it; take it then, to subdue demons and evildoers, to slay evil on the Righteous Path."

"Alright." Qin Liuxi tucked it into her bosom, asking, "I wonder if it can shake off Buddha Bone?"

The Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva: "?"

Qin Liuxi quickly finished the peach in two or three bites, tucking the pit in her pocket and planning to plant it in the back mountain of the Daoist Temple, hoping it might grow into a peach tree.

She sat in front of the two heavyweights and said, "I’m talking about the Evil Buddha Siluo."

Ksitigarbha and Emperor Fengdu exchanged glances.

Qin Liuxi boldly glared at Emperor Fengdu and said, "Great Emperor, this Evil Buddha escaped from the Underworld under your control, and now his whereabouts in the mortal world are unknown. Are you not going to do anything about it?"

"How can I not care, but..." Emperor Fengdu’s face was somber as he said, "The realms of yin and yang each have their boundaries. I am anxious about Siluo’s whereabouts but cannot intervene in the human world. Otherwise, it would cause chaos between yin and yang, and the rules would collapse, which we cannot afford."

Heavenly Dao has its rules, and the Three Realms of heaven, earth, and humanity each have their order. If everyone could interfere, it would lead to great chaos between yin and yang.

That is also why, during a person’s life, the underworld does not manage their actions or sins. But after death, the underworld settles all accounts. So even though Siluo has fled to the mortal world to commit evil, the Underworld can’t overstep too much and can only rely on the Heavenly Masters and Buddhist Monks in the human world to handle it, with the Underworld providing only limited assistance.

Just imagine, if the Underworld were to send all its ghost messengers and ghost soldiers to roam the human world just to find Siluo, what kind of chaos would that create? What if some ghost messengers and ghost soldiers were tempted by the pleasures of the human world and chose not to return?

That is the rule and the constraint.

Qin Liuxi frowned and said, "What if that guy wants to become a god in the human world and brings disaster to all living beings? Will you and the Heavenly Dao also stand by and do nothing?"

Emperor Fengdu suddenly looked up, "Become a god?"

Womb of the Earth Bodhisattva recited a Buddha’s poem and said, "Buqiu, it’s the rule of nature. If he can withstand the trials of the Heavenly Dao and become a god in the human world, even the Heavenly Dao cannot do anything about it. You must understand, the Heavenly Dao is heartless, and it often sides with the good people."

Qin Liuxi’s face turned green as she said, "So, you intend to pass the buck!"

One moment it’s the rule of nature, the next moment it’s about the heartlessness of the Heavenly Dao. Isn’t it just about directing the disaster towards the human world?

How clever, Underworld, always trying to pass the buck!

Bang.

In anger, she smashed the kang table, and sparks twinkled at her fingertips.

Emperor Fengdu was startled and said, "Calm down, it’s not what you think."

Don’t play with fire; we can’t handle another disaster!

Ksitigarbha glanced at his main pillar, wondering if this pillar needed to turn even darker.

"What else could it be? You talk about rules, you talk about the Heavenly Dao, you’re just shirking responsibility." Qin Liuxi sneered, "Siluo escaped under your watch, you don’t care, the Heavenly Dao will be the first to strike you down."

Emperor Fengdu, shaking with anger, roared, "Who said we don’t care?"

"Where is he then? It’s been almost a year since he escaped, and there’s no trace of him; instead, he’s gathering Buddha Bones to cause trouble." Qin Liuxi said furiously, "You just want the Buddhist and Taoist gates in the mortal world to exert effort while you sit back and wait to reap the benefits. That’s unacceptable; there must be accountability and clear guidance!"

Emperor Fengdu wanted to retort, but Ksitigarbha stopped him, asking, "What do you mean by gathering Buddha Bones and becoming a god?"

"When Siluo died that year, wasn’t his cultivated Buddha Body divided into nine Buddha Bones scattered in various places in the human world?"

Ksitigarbha and Emperor Fengdu frowned, there was indeed such a matter.

"Now that these nine Buddha Bones have surfaced right after Siluo’s escape, who else could be searching for them if not him? After being confined by you for thousands of years and finally escaping, he wouldn’t just quietly wait to be captured again. As you mentioned, with the rule of the Heavenly Dao established, the only way for him to be truly free is to step outside these rules. Other than becoming a true Buddha or a god, how else can he achieve true freedom?"

Ksitigarbha was stunned by this speech, wondering who could stop him if Siluo became a true Buddha?
