My Lady Always Lacks Ambition
Chapter 737 - 721: Can’t Bear It, We Feast
CHAPTER 737: CHAPTER 721: CAN’T BEAR IT, WE FEAST
Quan An saw Qin Liuxi return and instantly burst into tears, a grown man crying out loud.
"Junior Temple Master, please look at my young master. He seems, he seems to have no breath left." Quan An wailed loudly.
He had only guarded for two hours, watching with his own eyes as Quan Jing’s breath grew weaker and weaker, to the point where even the rise and fall of his chest was no longer visible, his face colorless, the very image of a dead person.
Even so, he dared not reach out to check his breath, fearing that there would be no warm breath left in him.
Under such torture, seeing Qin Liuxi return, he finally could not hold back and collapsed.
Qin Liuxi glanced at Quan Jing and said, "Don’t worry, the ghost messenger is still outside waiting, without my orders, he dares not enter to hook the soul."
Quan An’s crying paused: "..."
What the heck, a ghost messenger?
Is it those two legendary figures, one wearing a white hat and the other a black hat, known as Black and White Impermanence?
"It’s not the ones wearing hats, but the ones wearing flowers, very recognizable, you know them too," Qin Liuxi revealed with a smile.
Quan An: "?"
Qin Liuxi stopped wasting words with him. He walked to Quan Jing’s bedside, pinched the Golden Needle lodged in the death acupoint, and stabbed downward. The tail of the needle twisted in her hands, clockwise and counterclockwise, gently lifting and shallowly inserting.
Quan Jing’s eyeballs slightly rolled.
"The young master is awake," Quan An exclaimed joyfully, almost lunging forward.
Qin Liuxi splashed a basin of ice water over: "Don’t be happy, it’s just a dying flicker."
Quan An stiffened, can you say something nice? Even if it sounds fake, it’s still comforting!
Perhaps having heard Qin Liuxi’s irritating words, Quan Jing stubbornly opened his eyes, though they lacked any vitality and were very cloudy. Nevertheless, it brought immense joy to Quan An.
"Young master..."
Qin Liuxi pushed him aside and spoke to Quan Jing, "Listen to me, I’m going to administer the antidote now, the gu poisoning I told you about earlier. If the Golden Silkworm poison is implanted, you and it will become one; if you live, it lives; if you die, it will find its way out. The Golden Silkworm Gu Mother is extremely toxic, it will eliminate all threats inside you when it exists within your body. Thus, the process will be immensely painful, and you might die. Still, are you willing to be poisoned with this gu?"
Quan Jing blinked, he could even see the ghost messenger, what would he not agree to?
Seeing his agreement, Qin Liuxi took out the box containing the Golden Silkworm Gu Mother, had Quan An fetch a dagger, no words spared, directly cut Quan Jing’s middle finger, with blood dripping into the box of the Golden Silkworm Gu Mother, seeping through the crevices.
There was a slight movement from the box, Qin Liuxi then used his blood to draw a pattern on his chest, took his hand holding the box, and said, "No need for words, with your sincerity, swear the Blood Covenant with your life, dare to coexist with it."
With weakness but determination, Quan Jing gripped the box, closed his eyes, and swore.
Quan An nervously stared at the side when suddenly, the box seemed to be struck by a great force and a tiny insect, size of a fingernail, shimmering gold, flew out from the box, landing on Quan Jing’s hand.
Golden Silkworm Gu Mother, all in golden red, appearing harmless on the surface, yet it is the most toxic of all gu, further endowed with the toxicity of the Red Sand Golden Scorpion, making the gu body dazzle like gold.
Qin Liuxi watched as it conscientiously moved to the small cut on Quan Jing’s middle finger, the fingernail-size gu body nimbly entered.
Quan An exclaimed aloud, such a small cut, yet the gu mother actually burrowed in.
Qin Liuxi faced the situation as if confronting a great enemy, telling Quan Jing, "Now whether you live or die, depends entirely on your own will. If you endure this, you live; if not, we shall feast!"
Compared to the so-called antidote brought by the Poison Lady, this Golden Silkworm Gu Mother is the true antidote of fierce beasts; it will dominate and rule within Quan Jing’s body, mercilessly battling and annihilating any threat until no threats remain.
Thus, the process is extremely painful.
Imagine, inside a vessel, this Golden Silkworm Gu and other poisonous insects are fighting fiercely; how could it not be intense? And Quan Jing is that vessel, one made of flesh and blood.
Here it comes.
Quan Jing’s head tilts back, the veins in his neck bulging, emitting a howl even more agonizing than before, his entire body struggling and twisting, his fingers assuming a bizarre claw-like posture, taut to the extreme.
Quan An is terrified and thinks about going over, but Qin Liuxi stops him.
"This is a gamble; he has to bear it alone," Qin Liuxi states coldly. "It is his fate."
Indeed, this process of detoxification is a gamble.
The Golden Silkworm Gu will fight desperately, and if Quan Jing wishes to be reborn, he must rely on his will to survive to complete this gamble, just like now.
The Golden Silkworm Gu enters his meridians and marrow, wherever it passes, it is contending, invading, and devouring Bone Erosion.
Quan Jing, on the other hand, is vomiting black blood in great gulps, the blood dripping from the bed onto the floor, thick and foul-smelling.
Quan Jing feels as if his limbs and bones are being burned by flames, violently sawed, crushed, then reassembled.
Blood flows from his seven orifices.
Quan An watches objects occasionally bulging and roaming under Quan Jing’s skin and then observes the thick black blood; he kneels on the ground, tears flowing long.
Quan Jing’s lips quickly turn purplish-black, mangled by his own biting. Seeing this, Qin Liuxi pinches his cheeks, about to stuff a handkerchief in his mouth to prevent him from biting his tongue.
Before Qin Liuxi could let go, he violently shakes her off, leaps from the bed, and forcefully hits his head on the bedpost.
Qin Liuxi takes a Golden Needle and inserts it into his Bai Hui acupoint; Quan Jing stiffens, his face, already unrecognizable as handsome, twists even more grotesquely like an Evil Ghost, emitting a ferocious beast-like roar.
"Kill me," Quan Jing’s eyes, red as flames, even start to seep bloody tears.
Qin Liuxi, however, kneads the Golden Needle and begins chanting the Zhu You Scripture; her deep voice turning scripture as it emanates from her mouth: "Heaven begets one life, the earth six accomplishments. Once six join, they enliven and purify..."
As she recites the scripture, she forms a Dharma Seal over his spiritual platform.
Having lost his senses, Quan Jing finds himself in darkness, unable to see his own hands, utterly clueless; he suddenly thinks, staying here isn’t too bad, there’s no need to guard the northwest like his father and brother, no need to go to the battlefield, no need to bleed and suffer injuries, no need to carry burdens.
He is too tired and in too much pain; better to lie down here.
Quan Jing closes his eyes, until the sound of the scripture reaches his ears.
One by one, passage by passage, like the early morning sun, the sunlight warm and pleasant, hits his body, relaxing and tranquilizing his mind and spirit.
He wants to embrace this warmth; Quan Jing stands up and walks toward the source of the sound, until a gentle light emerges from the darkness. He hesitates for a moment, reaches out his hand, and walks into the light.
Quan Jing opens his eyes, and before him, there are a pair of clear and bright black eyes, smiling.
"Congratulations, you have won your own battle," Qin Liuxi says with a grin. "Warrior, you have left the ghost messengers empty-handed, and we didn’t get to feast!"
Wei Xie: Laozi has not left yet! And, while someone narrowly escaped death, you’re sad about missing the feast, are you even human?
Quan Jing blinks and turns to look at the window; sunlight enters through the lattice, morning has arrived.
