My Life As The First S-Class Guide
Chapter 197: THE BLACK SHEEP (2)
CHAPTER 197: THE BLACK SHEEP (2)
[THAT’S not my Wonhee.]
Yejun immediately noticed the change in Wonhee’s demeanor.
[Her eyes became sharp, her expression cold, and her voice indifferent.]
His Wonhee was gentle and soft-spoken, not this one.
However...
[Both my Wonhee and the older Wonhee from the previous world have this air of dignity around them. They’re refined and obviously ’expensive.’ I guess you can’t hide your royal blood or your ’old money scent’ even after experiencing apocalypse... twice.]
"Oppa, Wonhee-ssi is acting weird. I don’t think the Wonhee-ssi I know would talk to Moonho-ssi that way," Kim Bora whispered to Yejun, addressing Wonhee politely instead of calling her ’unnie.’ "Is that really her?"
"Kim Bora, you’re not allowed to ask questions," Yejun whispered back indifferently. "If you know too much, you’ll be in danger."
Fortunately, that was enough warning for Kim Bora to stop asking questions.
Now Yejun could focus on Wonhee and Song Moonho’s mild confrontation.
[I wonder what the older Wonhee is up to.]
***
SONG MOONHO was actually surprised when he received a message from Chu Wonhee inviting him and Meguro Shun— his A-Class Guide— for a lunch meeting.
To be honest, he thought about it for a long time.
In the end, his curiosity won over his wariness.
[I was hoping Yool would be here, but I was wrong— only Korea’s big shots are here.]
Guildmaster Hamin.
Soobin and Shin Geon.
Big 4 and their Guides.
[Not even Do Ahyeon is here.]
Moonho also noticed that the entire room was secured.
"I’m glad you made it here, Song Moonho."
Chu Wonhee called his name without honorifics, and she even talked to him casually despite the significant age gap between the two of them.
[This isn’t the polite Wonhee we know.]
No wonder everyone there was surprised except for Soobin and the Big 4.
"Why are you talking casually to Moonho-san?" Meguro Shun confronted Chu Wonhee quite aggressively. "Who do you think you are?"
Chu Wonhee turned to Meguro Shun with a cold look on her face. "I’m the first S-Class Guide in the world, and that makes me your boss," she said coldly. "So, kindly shut up and don’t interrupt when I’m talking, Meguro Shun."
Meguro Shun suddenly fell to his knees as if all the strength left his body.
And it wasn’t only Meguro Shun.
All the Guides in the room suddenly fell to their knees while gasping for air.
It was as if a strong force was crushing the poor Guides.
And that ’strong force’ seemed to be Chu Wonhee’s aura.
[I can’t believe Chu Wonhee can do this to several A-Class Guides with just a few words...]
Even the Hunters in the room felt a shiver down their spines.
"Apologize, Shun," Song Moonho said to Meguro Shun while looking down at his Guide coldly. "Apologize for being rude to Miss Chu."
Meguro Shun, who could barely breathe while touching his neck, bowed. "I apologize for my rudeness, Miss Chu."
It seemed like Chu Wonhee was satisfied by that reaction.
After all, Meguro Shun and the other Guides finally stopped gasping for air.
"You’re not even trying to hide who you are," Song Moonho said, snapping his fingers. "Was it you who wanted me here and not our sweet and kind Chu Wonhee?"
He put a barrier around them to make sure that no one else could hear their conversation.
Hwang Yejun looked like he was ready to attack Song Moonho, but he was literally being held back by Soobin and Semi.
Ah.
[Chu Wonhee’s siblings know that she has something important to tell me.]
"The current Chu Wonhee only sent you an invitation because she wanted your Guide to be included in her plan."
Moonho chuckled. "Is she trying to lead all the Guides in Korea?"
"No— we will lead all the Guides in the entire world."
Oh.
[She’s serious.]
"Well, I have no interest in whatever you’re planning to do with the Guides," Moonho said, shrugging. "I’m leaving with my trusted guild members, and we might be standing on opposite lanes once we meet again. So, if you have something to say, say it now while I don’t have the urge to kill you yet, Chu Wonhee."
"You can’t kill me even if you want to."
He scoffed at her threat. "Did the Guides from the previous world evolve into warriors capable of killing S-Class Hunters?"
"I don’t know about other Guides, but I sure know how to kill S-Class Hunters."
Oh.
"Especially the S-Class Hunter who fought by my side for many years."
Moonho frowned, and he hesitated quite a bit before he asked the question that had been bothering him lately. "Chu Wonhee, did we sleep together in the past since you somehow became my Guide after the second apocalypse?"
"We only have a 51% matching rate, so we weren’t qualified for Advanced Treatment," Chu Wonhee said bluntly. "And even if we were a match, you still wouldn’t have started that kind of relationship with me because of your principles."
He was relieved to hear that.
Anyone under the age of thirty was a child to him.
He felt like throwing up with just the idea of sleeping with someone fifteen-years his junior.
[I’m glad Yool’s original age is thirty-three.]
"If you’re planning to betray me and the Big 4 because of what happened to Song Sunho, then I want you to know that I’ll send Yool back to the other world as soon as you do."
Moonho stiffened up, annoyed. "Are you trying to make me angry, Chu Wonhee?"
CLANG.
That was the sound of an ice dagger hitting the sound-proof barrier that he made.
The barrier should be S-Class Grade.
But Hwang Yejun’s ice dagger still managed to put a crack in his barrier.
[What a frightening bastard.]
As soon as Hwang Yejun felt Moonho’s hostility towards Chu Wonhee, that ice bastard attacked him.
That was just a warning, though.
[I’m sure Hwang Yejun will try to kill me for real if I don’t tone it down.]
Moonho let out a deep sigh and, fortunately, it helped him calm down. "The current Chu Wonhee won’t let you do that to her best friend."
"The current Chu Wonhee has already started to resemble me," the older Chu Wonhee said proudly. "Do you think the Chu Wonhee who hates inconveniencing other people would summon all the big shots in this country unapologetically? She said she sent "invitations," but she sent it with the expectation that everyone would show up— including you."
Ah, that was true.
[The current Chu Wonhee was too meek for that before— but it seems like she has finally learned how to wield her money and power properly.]
"Song Moonho, leave and don’t get caught."
"Excuse me?"
"I can guess where you’re headed with the core members of the Autumn Guild based on the pieces of information I gathered from this Wonhee’s memory," Chu Wonhee said, smiling haughtily as if she was saying she had Moonho figured out already. "Let me tell you something that would prevent you from going astray."
And the thing that Moonho heard from the older Chu Wonhee was truly insane.
[I did what out of love?!]
