CHAPTER 226: MIDNIGHT RENDEZVOUS (5)

WONHEE felt relieved when the room changed.

Usually, when the Sleeping Salon was activated, there wouldn’t be change in the room occupied by her skill.

But, this time, the entire room changed.

[It’s the same room as the one where I talked to Tannie last time.]

Except, this time, the walls didn’t show Status Windows.

They were just plain white walls.

The room looked like a typical drawing room, except all furniture were white. Some were made of glass, like the table.

Oh, there were windows, too.

But the views outside looked so fake.

[The window on the left side shows a meteor shower while the window on the right side shows the Northern Lights.]

And the glass roof?

[Heavy snow is pouring from the "sky."]

"Are we in an asylum?" Yool complained lightly, sitting on the white sofa. "How come all I see is white?"

"I’m also not sure," Wonhee said after looking around, and then she sat next to Yool. "But we’re safe here..."

She trailed off when she noticed that Hamin, who was sitting on the chair across from them, was glaring at Yool.

"Hamin-ssi, is something the matter?" Wonhee asked worriedly. "Did Yool do or say something wrong?"

Yool knitted his eyebrows. "Why are you glaring at me, Hamin-ssi?"

"You were very reckless earlier, Gong Yool," Hamin scolded Yool sternly. "Bride may be the last Hunter in the Top 10, but she’s still one of the strongest Hunters in the world. And she’s also known as the craziest. Why would you provoke that kind of monster?"

Wonhee gasped.

She knew who ’Bride’ was.

Anyone who had an interest in the World Rankers would at least know who the new Top 10 Hunters were.

[I say ’new’ because the original Top 10 World Ranker includes the Big 4.]

Anyway, the newest addition to the new Top 10 was Bride.

[She’s known for loving excessive attention. And she’s also known for killing people who ignore her— whether it’s on purpose or not. But she gets away with it because she’s a high-ranking World Ranker.]

"Yool-ah, you picked a fight with that kind of person?" Wonhee asked in disbelief. "Why did you do that?"

"That’s what I’m saying," Hamin said, frustrated. "I really thought we were dead earlier when you started insulting her."

"I wasn’t being reckless, okay?" Yool said defensively. "According to the information I got, every time Bride’s self-esteem is hit, she "forgets" that she’s a Hunter and she reverts to her old insecure self. In short, I was trying to make her feel inferior on purpose."

"How did you know about Bride’s supposed weakness?" Hamin asked suspiciously. "I don’t keep up with the World Rankers, but I would know if a Top 10’s weakness was released to the public."

Yool avoided Hamin’s suspicious gaze. "That’s a trade secret, sir."

[Trade secret?]

Ah.

[Yool probably used his Transmigrator privilege.]

Wonhee quickly changed the topic. "How did you get here?" She then looked at Hamin. "Do you have a teleportation skill, Hamin-ssi?"

"Unfortunately, no," Hamin said while shaking his head. "A strange kid with an orange mask appeared and attacked Bride, then he sent us to where you are."

That wasn’t an orange mask.

It was probably a tangerine one.

"Tannie," Wonhee whispered worriedly. "I hope he’s fine..."

[A few minutes earlier...]

SOOBIN was busy shooting the undead monster apes that Song Moonho had released, but he didn’t tear his gaze away from Gong Yool.

He was wondering why Bride just stood there while listening to Gong Yool’s insults.

But he didn’t care about that.

He was actually planning to teleport in order to grab Gong Yool, but...

[Tsk!]

Soobin jumped backwards when a huge horned monster wolf appeared just in front of him, followed by Song Moonho’s laugh.

[That bastard knew I was planning to snatch Gong Yool!]

If Song Moonho could still keep an eye on Soobin while fighting Graham, then it only meant Graham was having a hard time keeping up with Song Moonho.

[Tsk.]

Annoyed, Soobin threw away his guns at the horned monster wolf after he ran out of bullets. Then he quickly pulled out a pair of fingerless gloves from his Inventory. After that, he ran towards the monster that was also marching towards him.

And then he grabbed the monster’s horn with one hand, and then punched its face with the other.

CRACK.

That was the sound of the monster’s bones breaking, not Soobin’s.

After all, the gloves that he was wearing were a special item.

But it wasn’t just because of that.

[I’m not a naturally awakened S-Class, but I’m still an S-Class Hunter with superhuman strength.]

"I SAID STOOOP!"

Soobin turned to World Ranker after she yelled at the top of her lungs.

He actually thought Hamin and Gong Yool would be dead.

But when he turned in their direction...

[Is that Hee-ya’s Administrator?]

A child wearing a tangerine mask appeared out of nowhere, kicking Bride in the face while yelling.

"Gong Yool, Hunter Hamin— I’m sending you there!"

And, just like that, Hamin and Gong Yool suddenly disappeared.

[Did he bring the two to Hee-ya?]

He didn’t have the luxury to worry about that, though.

Soobin’s eyes widened in shock when he saw Bride, the World Ranker, suddenly appear behind the Administrator while holding a huge axe. "Watch out, kid!"

He was about to teleport to save the Administrator.

But, all of a sudden, Bride’s axe was covered in ice.

Actually, the entire room was suddenly covered in ice— including the undead monsters that Song Moonho released earlier.

Just like that, Soobin felt relieved.

After all, Hwang Yejun wasn’t just the strongest Hunter in Korea— he was also their small country’s symbol of hope.

[I won’t say this out loud, but everything will be fine as long as Hwang Yejun is here.]

"Hey, your watch is ringing," Semi said. She looked relaxed now that Hwang Yejun had arrived. "We can catch our breath now that the brat is here."

Soobin nodded, and then he answered the call coming from his watch. "Yes, Kwon Jiwoong?"

"I’m outside the Winter Guild’s building. What the heck is the Big 4 up to now?"

Pfft.

[Kwon Jiwoong talks as if the Big 4 are problem children.]

"Bride, the World Ranker who claimed the 10th spot recently, is here," Soobin said in a serious tone. "Kwon Jiwoong, I need you to use your ability."

[You’re an A-Class Hunter, so be useful for once.]
