CHAPTER 241: MORNING BUZZ (1)

"YOU’RE HERE, Soobin-ah, Geon-ah."

Soobin and Geon answered at the same time. "Yes, Noona."

"I’m sorry for asking you to come this early," Semi apologized, and then she looked at Soobin. "I know you’re busy with the World Ranker that we caught recently."

"It’s alright, Noona," Soobin said nonchalantly. "Lee Cheongsan is currently in charge of communicating with UAN in my place. Plus, Hwang Minho and Hwang Minsu are keeping an eye on Hunter Bride. It’s fine even if I don’t directly deal with the issue yet."

And, Soobin didn’t want to admit this, but he knew that Kwon Jiwoong would make sure that UAN wouldn’t be able to blame Korea for what happened to Hunter Bride.

[He’ll insist it’s self-defense.]

"Noona, I saw an unfamiliar car outside," Geon commented after Semi thanked them again for being there. "Do you have other guests?"

"Hwang Yebin-ssi and Junsang-ssi are here to pick up Hwang Yejun," Semi said, pausing for a moment. "Oh. I forgot to tell you that Hwang Yejun teleported here earlier."

Soobin frowned upon hearing that. "Noona, you should have sent that little bastard home."

"Yah, you’re being too protective," Geon scolded him. "Hwang Yejun is in his child form, too."

"Your husband is right, Soobin-ah. Moreover, Hee-ya doesn’t want to separate from Hwang Yejun," Semi said, sighing while shaking her head. "They even slept on the same bed."

Soobin knitted his eyebrows this time. "You allowed that, Noona?"

"Eunseok was there, too."

Then that was a relief.

[Seon Eunseok is protective of his Aunt Hee-ya.]

"Where’s your husband, Noona?" Geon asked. "I thought he’d join us since this matter concerns Eunseok."

"My husband is at the Fall Guild right now to meet Hamin," Semi explained, sighing. "I haven’t told Chang-ho about Eunseok’s possible awakening yet. But I plan to tell him as soon as we confirmed it."

Soobin nodded in agreement. "You did the right thing, Noona. We shouldn’t let Chang-ho Hyung worry needlessly when we haven’t confirmed anything yet."

"Vice President Yeon, Direction Shin."

Upon reaching the drawing room, Soobin and Geon were greeted by Hwang Yebin and Hwang Junsang.

And after exchanging polite greetings...

"EOMMA!!!"

Everyone in the room was an Awakened Person, so all of them heard that cry.

[Seon Eunseok?]

"NO— I WON’T hand over Bitna to you," Hamin said firmly, and then he paused when he remembered to be polite. "Sir."

High-ranking Hunters like him had developed a complex similar to a god complex.

Even Hamin was affected by it.

Hence, he would often forget to speak politely because he had gotten used to dealing with people who treated him like a god.

[I should fix this bad habit of mine.]

But, at least, he was polite enough to invite Seon Chang-ho to his private office.

[I even served him coffee.]

"What do you mean you’re not going to return Seon Chowon to our family?" Seon Chang-ho, a chaebol married to Big 4’s Jang Semi, asked with a smile on his face. He was smiling, but the look in his eyes was cold. "Hunter Hamin-ssi, I am Chowon’s biological uncle. You can’t keep my niece away from me."

Seon Chowon.

That was Bitna’s real name.

[And she happens to be the daughter of the chaebol group backing up the Fall Guild.]

The world was truly small.

"Why don’t we let Chowon decide whether she wants to come with me or not?" Seon Chang-ho asked impatiently. "Where is my niece?"

"Bitna isn’t here," Hamin said bluntly. "Bitna is actually in a comatose state right now, sir."

"ANGEL, please stop crying."

"I’m not crying... wait. Who are you?"

Hwang Yebin was surprised to see that her son was no longer a toddler.

Based on the school uniform that Yejun was wearing, she guessed that her son was around fifteen years old this time. After all, that was her son’s old uniform back when he was in middle school.

But where did the school uniform come from?

[They were also wearing toddler clothes yesterday...]

It must be the System’s handiwork.

Chu Wonhee was no longer in her toddler form either. The S-Class Guide was probably the same age as Yejun judging by her school uniform— and that school uniform was like a status symbol in South Korea.

[So, Wony studied in the most luxurious middle school in the country.]

As expected of a chaebol.

Yebin only had those thoughts for a few seconds, but something big already happened.

Vice President Yeon Soobin grabbed Yejun by the back of his neck, and then the Vice President tossed Yejun away.

"Yejunnie!"

Fortunately, Junsang caught their son before he hit the wall.

Her husband then put Yejun down carefully and assisted him until their son was standing on his own feet.

"Appa? Eomma?" Yejun asked, looking confused. "What are you doing here?"

[His memories are really a mess at the momemt. Yejunnie stopped calling his father ’appa’ a while after he became a Hunter. Since he’s still calling Junsang ’appa’ instead of ’abeoji,’ the current Yejunnie probably remembers his memories before the Outbreak.]

Moreover, Yejun’s hair was still black.

[My son’s hair color only changed when he reached his prime as a Hunter.]

"Yejunnie, we’ll explain everything to you later," Yebin said, holding her son’s hand. "For now, let’s go home."

Of course, she was annoyed that Yeon Soobin threw her son carelessly.

However, she also had to understand that the Vice President must have been shocked to see his ’teenage’ sister on a bed with a ’teenage’ boy.

[Vice President Yeon is known for being overprotective of Wony.]

"Eomma, I’m not going home," Yejun said stubbornly, and then he turned to Wonhee. "That angel needs me."

[She doesn’t, son...]

Yebin could only sigh and shake her head without voicing out her thoughts.

[Yejunnie has always been stubborn even before he awakened, so I know he won’t listen to me.]

***

"SOOBIN-AH, that was rude of you. Hwang Yejun isn’t in his right state of mind. And why would you treat him like that in front of his parents?"

Oh.

Soobin felt a bit ashamed after getting scolded by Semi.

[But she was right.]

Hence, Soobin faced Hwang Yebin and Hwang Junsang. Then he bowed his head towards them apologetically. "I’m sorry."

In his defense, he panicked when he saw his ’teenage’ sister on a bed with Hwang Yejun.

He was just being protective.

"It’s alright, Vice President," Hwang Yebin said even though it was clear that she was displeased. "We understand."

Soobin was about to say something, but...

"Oppa? What are you doing here?"

Oh.

Wonhee was looking at Soobin with resentment in her eyes.

[Why...?]

"Unnie, too," Wonhee said, looking at Semi coldly this time. "Why are Oppa and Unnie here when you both hate my existence anyway?"

Oh.

Soobin and Semi exchanged nervous looks when the realization hit the both of them.

This wasn’t the fifteen-year-old Wonhee— this was the sixteen-year-old Wonhee that they kind of neglected for a short while.

[And it happened after we found out about the secret of her birth.]

Soobin and Semi had been unfair towards Wonhee at that time, blaming her for something that she wasn’t even aware of.

[We immediately regretted our actions and made up with Hee-ya, but it seems like she only remembers the fact that we hurt her back then.]

"I don’t want to see Oppa and Unnie," Wonhee said stubbornly, and then she ran towards Yejun. And then she held onto his arm. "Hey, can you take me away from here?"

Yejun grinned— his eyes turning into little crescent moons. "Of course, angel."

[That punk...!]

Soobin tried to stop the two ’teenagers’ from leaving, but it was already too late.

Wonhee and Yejun had disappeared in just the blink of an eye.
