"GOOD MORNING, baby."
Argh.
That was so cringe and corny.
However, Yool couldn’t deny the fact that his eyes were blessed upon seeing Song Moonho’s handsome face.
Hence, his mood was slightly better now.
"Good morning," Yool said, getting up. "Gong Yool’s memories have been "uploaded" in my brain successfully."
He had a very, very long dream last night.
It was like speed-watching a TV series.
To be precise, it was like watching a documentary about how Solar became the biggest boy group in the world at the moment.
Yes, in the entire world.
Solar even performed in the biggest stadiums in the West.
[Before I transmigrated to another world five years ago, Solar was already the top boy group in South Korea. It’s rare for a group to have members with equal influence and popularity— but we are that group. Each member excels in different fields.]
Park Jaehyun— the maknae and lead dancer— was cute, funny, and witty. It was no wonder that he became a famous variety host.
Kang Taesung— the visual and lead vocal— was now a successful idol-actor with a few hit dramas under his belt. He even sang some of the OST in his previous dramas.
Finn— the half-Korean and half-Australian main dancer— was now a judge-slash-mentor in a hit audition program. The audition program was already in its third season, and he was once again invited to become a judge-slash-mentor there.
Shohei— the Japanese member and main rapper— was now a fashion icon. He was also a global brand ambassador for different luxury brands.
And Ong Yool?
[That punk did it all.]
Ong Yool, as the group’s leader and main vocal, had always been an all-rounder.
And the fake Ong Yool really seized the opportunity to change his life while in possession of the body of a top idol.
The fake Ong Yool grew as a real artist during the last five years, though: his solo debut was a huge success. He also became a successful idol-actor like his fellow member Kang Taesung. Hence, he became a frequent guest on famous variety shows to promote his dramas. He had also been a judge in a popular singing contest for two seasons.
Moreover, Ong Yool has become a global ambassador for several luxury brands. He even became the first K-pop artist to be invited to the world’s most prestigious and glamorous fashion event.
Wow.
"I’m impressed at how Gong Yool managed to take Ong Yool’s stardom to the next level," Yool said sincerely. "He used my body well. It was a good thing that I had already done my mandatory military service before I transmigrated."
The entire group was actually done with their military service.
[Except for Shohei who is Japanese, and Finn who is an Australian citizen, we all entered the army at the same time so we’d get discharged at the same time as well.]
They did that during the second year of their dull career back then.
And that was a good choice.
During their first comeback after they were discharged from the military, their career finally took off because of their hit song that topped all the charts in South Korea. It was because their fans who missed them after their military service really worked hard to promote them.
[And the rest is history.]
"Don’t say that," Song Moonho said, frowning. "Don’t say that another man used your body well."
"It’s not my fault that your brain sexualized what I said."
"Ong Yool."
"So, you’re now calling me by my real name?"
"I can always just call you ’baby.’"
"Don’t even think about it," Yool warned the old man. "Unlike in the other world, South Korea remains a very patriarchal and conservative country here. Same-sex couples are still heavily frowned upon. Moreover, think about my celebrity status, okay?"
Song Moonho shrugged casually. "Sure."
"I wonder how I should introduce you to the others."
"Oh, you don’t have to worry about that."
"What do you mean?"
"The System already ’downloaded’ my character in this world."
"I don’t understand, Ahjussi."
"Yool-ah, how did you have a childhood when you were from the other world?" Song Moonho asked, smirking. "Have you ever thought about it?"
Oh.
Right.
Yool’s eyes widened in shock. "Yeah... was I reborn here?"
***
OH.
[My hair is back to white and blue again.]
Yejun was amazed that not only did his hair color return to normal, but his school uniform also changed to the last piece of clothing that he wore.
Moreover, his appearance was also back to normal.
[Yep, I’d snap if I suddenly lost all the muscles that I’ve built up.]
"I didn’t know that you were vain, Hwang Yejun."
Yejun stopped admiring himself in the mirror and turned to Soobin who was sitting on the chair next to the bed where Wonhee was asleep.
Since Wonhee wouldn’t wake up, they brought her home first.
By ’home,’ he meant Soobin’s house.
[Semi Noona and the others are busy handling the issue with Seon Eunseok.]
Actually, they wanted to talk to Yejun, too.
[But I told them I won’t leave Wonhee’s side until she wakes up.]
Soobin was worried that Wonhee might wake up with a messed up memory, so he decided to stay there and explain if needed.
[I bet he just didn’t want to leave Wonhee alone with me.]
"I’ve always known I’m handsome, but I only started to care about my appearance because of Wonhee," Yejun said, glancing at Wonhee who had also returned to normal already. Her orange hair was back, and she was wearing the last pieces of clothing that she wore during the fight with Bride instead of her school uniform. "Wonhee is so freaking pretty, so I don’t want to look like a potato next to her."
"My baby sister is still too good for you."
Haaah.
Yejun was about to ask Soobin what he needed to do to get his approval, but he stopped when he saw Wonhee open her eyes slowly.
[Like a princess.]
"Hee-ya," Soobin said, relieved. "Do you recognize me?"
"How would I not recognize you, Oppa?" Wonhee asked sleepily while getting up. "But what am I doing here at your house? I should be at my penthouse right now."
Penthouse?
But Wonhee’s penthouse was still under renovation.
"Hee-ya, how old are you now?"
"Oppa, what kind of question is that?" Wonhee asked, laughing softly. She probably thought Soobin was playing a prank on her. "I’m twenty-five, turning twenty-six soon."
Soobin looked relieved by that.
And so was Yejun.
[I’m glad her memories have returned.]
Wonhee hadn’t noticed him yet because she was focused on Soobin, and so Yejun took a step forward.
"Wonhee-ya—"
"I need to go home, Oppa," Wonhee said in a hurry, accidentally cutting off Yejun. And, yes, she seemed like she was too preoccupied to notice Yejun yet. "I need to throw a party for Seodam Oppa."
Yejun froze on the spot.
[Seodam... ’Oppa?’]
Even Soobin knitted his eyebrows. "Why would you throw a party for Lee Seodam?"
"Seodam Oppa has leveled up and he’s an A-Class Hunter now," Wonhee said, smiling while clapping her hands excitedly. "I’m gonna celebrate Seodam Oppa’s promotion with him."
Oh, fuck.
Yejun was then hit by the awful realization.
[This is Wonhee before we met...!]
