Chapter 253: UNNATURAL STATUS WINDOW
CHAPTER 253: UNNATURAL STATUS WINDOW
NO RESULTS FOUND.
Yool clicked his tongue, annoyed.
He tried to look for the ’Guide to Your Heart’ novel, but nothing came up— not the webnovel, not the printed version either.
It was as if the BL novel that he had read completely vanished into thin air.
"You’re not going to sleep?" Song Moonho whispered in Yool’s ear sleepily. "Stop playing with your phone— it’s bad for your eyes."
Yool froze for a moment when Song Moonho’s hot breath fanned the sensitive side of his neck, but he was good at bringing himself back to reality.
The reality was a bit uncomfortable, though.
After all, Yool was lying on his side while Song Moonho was hugging him from behind.
[Yes, I’m the ’small spoon.’]
"Ahjussi, you really talk like an old man."
"I am old."
"Wow. I’m surprised you admit it so casually. You almost killed Hwang Frost and Graham when they called you an old man before."
"I’m not insecure about being old— I just don’t want to hear it from those kids," Song Moonho said, laughing softly. "I’m like fine wine anyway— I get better with age."
Tsk.
It was so annoying that Yool couldn’t refute it.
He couldn’t even say that Song Moonho was being arrogant because the old man was just stating a fact.
[He really does age like fine wine.]
"And should you really be calling me ’Ahjussi?’" Song Moonho asked teasingly. "Aren’t you in your thirties in this world? Our age gap got shorter, so just call me ’hyung.’"
"You wish," Yool said, typing new keywords in hopes of finding anything related to the BL novel that he was looking for. "Just sleep, Ahjussi. Don’t make me regret sharing my bed with you. I even let you make me your little spoon."
The old man chuckled. "Since you’re being generous, why not give me a kiss—"
"Don’t push it, Ahjussi."
"Fine. So, what are you so busy with that you can’t put your phone down?"
"I’m searching for the BL novel about the other world," Yool explained. "I thought the data we’re looking for might be hidden in the books. But I can’t find the copies of the books I own here. I thought at least the webnovel version would be available, but it doesn’t exist."
It was more comfortable talking to Song Moonho about serious matters than flirting with him. Because he felt like the old man would eat him alive if he let his guard down.
"Then maybe the novel doesn’t really exist here."
Yool paused, and then he sighed. "Yeah, I thought about it, too."
He was disoriented when he was transmigrated to the other world.
[I probably mistook the lingering data stuck in my head as a novel.]
"Why do you sound disappointed, Yool-ah?"
"Well, I’m just wondering why I thought Graham and Ahn Kisoo were the main characters of that "novel.""
"Suddenly, I’m no longer interested in the topic."
"Yah."
"We’ll find the answers anyway once we retrieve the data," Song Moonho said nonchalantly. "So, please stop thinking about Han Graham."
[This old man...]
"You’re just jealous of Graham, aren’t you?"
"Yool-ah, you should stop saying that kid’s name."
"Or else?"
"Or else I’ll kiss you senselessly... and I probably won’t just stop at kissing."
[This horny old man...]
Yool sighed, turned off his phone, and closed his eyes. "Good night, Ahjussi."
Song Moonho just chuckled, and then he pulled Yool closer to him. "Good night, Yool-ah."

"SO, WHERE’S the kid?" Yejun asked while removing his hoodie. "And what about the result?"
After Yejun and Soobin confirmed that Wonhee didn’t want to see the fake carnivore anymore, he left Soobin’s house.
[Soobin and the baby herbivore are there to protect Wonhee, so I’m at ease.]
He went to Semi’s house because he wanted to check on Wonhee’s nephew.
"The result was negative," Shin Geon, Soobin’s husband and the director of the National Guide Center, said. "All the Items that I used to check if Seon Eunseok awakened showed negative results. As far as those devices are concerned, the kid is a Civilian."
"But Items aren’t always correct even if Soobin himself created them," Semi added, obviously anxious about her son’s future. "So, please check my son’s condition, Hwang Yejun."
"Of course, Noona. That’s why I’m here."
Semi and Geon looked relieved.
After that, Semi guided them to Seon Eunseok’s bedroom.
Seon Chang-ho, Semi’s husband, stood up when he saw Yejun.
"Thank you for coming, Hwang Yejun-ssi."
"It’s not a big deal, Hyung-nim," Yejun said, addressing Wonhee’s brother-in-law politely. Then he glanced at the sleeping Seon Eunseok on the bed. "Noona, did you knock down your son?"
"I had to since he kept trying to run away," Semi said, sighing while shaking her head. "And he wouldn’t say anything even if we told them he wasn’t in trouble."
Hmm.
Yejun stared at the sleeping Seon Eunseok while using his ability to check other people’s Status Windows.
And then it appeared— something that he didn’t see in the kid before.
A purple Status Window.
[Ah, dammit.]
Normal Status Windows were blue, and they would turn red if the System was sending emergency signals.
Those were the two colors of natural Status Windows.
But this one...
"Noona, Hyung-nim, your son is about to awaken," Yejun said bluntly. "Seon Eunseok will awaken as a Guide soon."
Semi and Seon Chang-ho both gasped.
"A Guide," Geon whispered. "Hwang Yejun, does this confirm that the candies Seon Eunseok took are really Forced Awakening drugs?"
"Yes, Hyung. The kid’s Status Window is weird..."
Yejun trailed off and quickly shut his mouth.
It was because Seon Eunseok’s unnatural Status Window suddenly got activated.
Guide Seon Eunseok’s Contract with the Liege
The Liege?
Wasn’t it the enemy boss?
[The kid has a contract with the enemy?]
"Hwang Yejun, what’s wrong?" Semi asked nervously. "What do you see in my son’s Status Window?"
"Noona, please tell all the Civilians in this mansion to either leave or evacuate somewhere safe," Yejun said in an urgent voice. "I need to do something that might blow up a portion of your house."
