My Life As The First S-Class Guide
Chapter 259: CREAM OF THE CROP
CHAPTER 259: CREAM OF THE CROP
WHEN SHIN Geon arrived at the Center, he expected the entire place to be swarmed with square-headed villains.
But everyone was knocked out— both his colleagues and the enemies.
There was a difference, though.
His colleagues and all the people working for the Center were covered in what seemed like... honeycomb?
[What is that?]
On the other hand, the square-headed villains were being attacked by bees.
Monster bees, to be precise.
After all, no bee on earth was that big.
Geon actually got nervous that he might get attacked when the bees suddenly surrounded him, so he was ready to pull out a weapon from his Inventory.
However, his Status Window suddenly popped up.
[Ignore the bees, Guide Shin Geon. They won’t attack you. So, please head to where the other high-class Guides are.]
He didn’t have time to question the System.
Geon went back to running.
He could feel a strong aura coming from the top floor, hence he immediately headed towards the stairs. As an Awakened Person, his superhuman speed would bring him to the top floor faster than the elevator.
However...
"Shin Geon!"
Oh.
Someone else was faster than him.
Geon was surprised when Yeon Soobin suddenly appeared before him, and his husband immediately grabbed him by the shoulders as if afraid he’d run away. "You’re here."
He knew his husband would come right away.
[That’s why I only called when I was almost at the Center earlier.]
"Next time, call me right away," Soobin said in a frustrated tone. "Please."
Oh.
Who would have thought the Blacksmith God would beg him that way?
[Soobin must have been so worried.]
He knew that it was stupid not to call his husband during an emergency.
Hence, he did it at the last minute.
[But maybe I should have done that sooner.]
"I understand. I’m sorry for making you worry, Soobin-ah," Geon said, cupping Soobin’s hands between his hands. "But, for now, let’s check on my fellow Guides first."
***
"REVERSE GUIDING is when a Hunter fills a Guide’s Mana Tank with his own Mana," Bitna explained while sitting on the back of the so-called Commander. "Forced Reverse Guiding is when a Guide absorbs the Hunter’s Mana, well, forcefully."
She was giving a free lecture here, so she was a bit annoyed that these high-class Guides weren’t paying attention.
Those Guides were more interested in looking at the Commander.
[Are they that amazed that a Guide like me managed to do this to a strong Hunter?]
Well, that was understandable.
After the Commander was paralyzed, Bitna moved his body using her telekinesis ability. She moved the Commander’s body and positioned his joints until he was on all fours.
And then Bitna sat on the Commander’s back as if he was a chair.
[It’s not comfortable, but a chair is a chair.]
Moreover, she wasn’t simply sitting on the square-headed bastard’s back.
[I’m also absorbing his Mana.]
"You can do Forced Reverse Guiding by controlling the Mana in your body," Bitna continued with her explanation. "All you have to do is empty the Mana in your Tank, and then make it flow throughout your body. After your Tanak is empty, your body will demand for you to refill it. That’s when you grab a Hunter and suck the Mana out of their body. Easy, right?"
"Emptying our Mana isn’t as easy as you make it sound, young miss," Meguro Shun said bluntly. "Normal Guides will die before they can even release their Mana throughout their body."
"Sounds like a skill issue," Bitna said, shrugging. "But all of you here are the cream of the crop. I’m sure you’ll learn quickly."
"Are you going to teach us?" Ahn Kisoo asked. "I mean, you’re already giving a lecture. But applying the theory you’re explaining will be hard without your proper guidance. So, are you going to teach us properly?"
Im Rona nodded in agreement. "Not everyone is a genius like you, young miss. If you’re going to teach us, then please do it right."
"Isn’t that the reason why Chu Wonhee started her own club? Or is it a guild?" Bitna asked, tilting her head to one side. "I’ll teach you how to be more than a Guide..."
She trailed off when she felt a sudden shift in the air.
"Everyone, duck."
Fortunately, all the high-class Guides listened to Bitna and bent their bodies— no questions asked.
Bitna then raised her hand, creating a barrier with a honeycomb pattern.
She made it in time.
If she didn’t, then the bombs that hit the honeycomb barrier would have hit the unsuspecting high-class Guides.
[Their offense skills are lacking...]
"Who the hell are you?"
Oho?
Four interesting square-headed bastards appeared.
Each one of the four seemed to be cosplaying the Big 4.
[It’s creepy to see the Big 4’s faces flashing on those TV screens-slash-head costumes.]
"Perfect timing," Bitna said, looking at the high-class Guides who were now safe inside her honeycomb barrier. "Everyone, watch me. This time, I’ll teach you how to fight like a Hunter."
"A Hunter?" Park Ruda asked, raising an eyebrow. "A Guide can fight like a Hunter?"
Oho?
[This is the Guide that hurt Chu Wonhee, huh?]
Bitna smiled at Park Ruda, putting the male Guide’s name in her mental "hit list."
[I’m not here for personal revenge, so I’ll let him go for now.]
"I asked who you are!"
Bitna turned to the square-headed bastard cosplaying as Jang Semi. "Aigoo. You’re ruining Jang Semi’s image. She doesn’t yell like a barbarian during a fight."
Jang Semi’s "cosplayer" threw a crystal ball at her.
But the crystal ball only hit the honeycomb barrier around Bitna.
[I guess I need to show off.]
Bitna snapped her fingers.
Then, almost immediately, it rained flowers from the ceiling.
To be precise, those were pollens.
[Now...]
Bitna snapped her fingers again. "It’s lunchtime, babies."
And then her ’babies’ appeared.
"Are those bees?!" Kim Bora asked in surprise. "You can control monster bees?"
Yep, monster bees.
In fact, Bitna’s monster bees were as huge as a baby— and they were green.
"Babies, eat those square-headed bastards."
The buzzing sound echoed in the room as the fifty monster bees that she summoned began attacking the Big 4 Wannabe.
Of course, those bastards tried to create a barrier to protect themselves— but to no avail.
Bitna’s monster bees broke the enemies’ barriers using their stingers that were thick, sharp, and sturdy.
Soon, the Big 4 Wannabe were fighting for their lives.
In fairness, the square-headed bastards already managed to kill a few monster bees.
[This is bad.]
Bitna wasn’t worried that her monster bees would lose, but she could already taste the blood in her mouth.
[I’m gonna throw up blood and probably faint.]
She had used too much of her abilities when her body hadn’t completely adjusted yet.
After all, the System had to wake her up forcefully.
[I should start bluffing now.]
"Will it be worth dying here?" Bitna said, provoking the Big 4 Wannabe. "You can choose to die here with this so-called Commander. Or you can save your own asses and plan your revenge later. The choice is yours."
If Bitna could kill these four on her own, she would have done that already.
However, she couldn’t.
[And I won’t die here.]
Bitna’s mission was to protect the country’s high-class Guides, and she had already done that.
[No need to be extra.]
***
HMM?
Geon was expecting the high-class Guides of the country to be hurt.
It wasn’t like he wanted them to be hurt— he was just preparing for the worst case scenario.
However, that wasn’t what greeted him.
Kim Bora.
Ahn Kisoo.
Meguro Shun.
Im Rona.
Park Ruda.
[Our country’s most precious Guides are all safe.]
Moreover...
[Is that Bitna?]
A green-haired young lady was sitting on the back of a square-headed villain while watching four more square-headed villains getting attacked by green monster bees. The four square-headed villains were on the floor, and each one of them had one picture of a Big 4 member flashin on their TV screens.
"Are they dead?"
It was the question that Soobin asked the green-haired young lady.
Bitna raised her head and looked at Soobin indifferently before she nodded. "Yeah. They’re dead. But I think they’ve been dead for quite some time."
Soobin knitted his eyebrows.
"You can check it on your own," Bitna said, snapping her fingers. "It’s safe now."
It was safe now because the green monsters had all disappeared already.
Soobin immediately ran towards the fake Big 4 on the floor, and then he removed their masks one by one.
Blergh.
All of them almost threw up because of the smell of rotten flesh.
[Yep, those villains are already dead.]
Soobin immediately put back the masks. "Let’s call Graham and have these bastards burn to ashes."
Geon nodded in agreement, and then he turned to the green-haired young lady. And then he got worried. "Bitna-ssi, you don’t look good."
"Yeah, I felt like dying," Bitna said while standing up. "Please bring me to Chu Wonhee."
And then the green-haired young lady fainted.
"Bitna-ssi!"
***
"S-SHE’S my friend?" Wonhee asked while looking at the sleeping green-haired woman on the bed. "From the dungeon?"
[Someone can live in the dungeon for years?]
When Soobin returned home with Geon, her older brother had the green-haired woman in his arms.
Then Soobin and Geon put her on the bed.
"Does she not need a doctor?" Wonhee asked worriedly. "She looks bad."
"We’re not sure what to do to help her," Soobin said, looking at Wonhee. "But she told us to bring her to you, Hee-ya."
But why Wonhee...?
